Experience with Mahaperiyava – Brahmasri Gopala Ganapadigal

This video was taken during our Kailash trip. I bought a camcorder before the trip to potentially use in Kailash but I never took it out. However I wanted record something about Periyava as the first recording. I approached ganapadigal mama to share few incidents. He was very happy to do but we never found time to sit and do this. After our yatra was done, we came to Naimisharanyam and then before we all traveled back, we were at Lucknow hotel where I recorded this interview….

Some highlights:

  1. Vedic students = veda mata Herself
  2. Man-ego = God
  3. Periyava’s karunyam towards students who failed in the exam and his thought on their parents’ expectation – what a motherly approach!!!
  4. What to ask Periyava? We should learn from mama!
  5. What to look in a person?
  6. importance of anushtanam
  7. Periyava is sarvagyan…

He was getting ready to visit a vedapatasala in Lucknow and despite the program, he sat with me for a good 1 hour to give this interview before he headed out. Thanks to mama for giving this interview.

Since I didn’t carry my tripod, I had to hand-hold the camcorder throughout the interview and hence there is a lot of shake….Please bear with that.

Hara HAra Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara!

  2. It would have been great if it was translated to english (at least summary) for the benefit of non tamil readers

  3. Thank you so much for posting this. Though I have already learnt about many of his experiences, it was wonderful to listen at a time that too as a speech. As he quoted, when I was near him I never used that opportunity. Now when I’m far I think I should have been more obedient with my father.

And I’m grateful to the entire group for supporting him during the yatra.

  4. Great interaction by Mr. Mahesh with Brahmasri Gopala Ganapadigal, “lokathai vidu illai namathai vidu”, great advice. Incident about Sri Periyava karunai is touching to hear, once a while if one see Sri Periyava or Sri Periyava see any one, that’s enough for this janma, …..it shakes heart and tears all over.

    Sri Periyava Saranam

  9. Super! No words to explain the happiness in seeing such a great person. What a tejas in his face. Mama spoke from his heart. I really liked the one he said on sandhiyavandanam and bagavam smaranam.
I had goosebumps when mama spoke on the chosen ones for kailash! His description on kailash answered some of my questions I had on mind about vishnu lokha brahma lokha.
Mahesh Anna thanks to you for taking your time out and bringing it for readers like us. We atleast could see kailash through your blog. One request to you could you let me know a email I’d to contact you incase we want to check with you on certain questions on kailash yatra!

  10. hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Sankara. Nice to hear the experiences with Sri Maha Pariyava. Janakiraman. Nagapattinam

  11. I love mama’s talk on Mahaperiyava. Thanks Mama for sharing and to you too Mahesh.

  12. In all fairness though, the banner disappears after some 7 minutes into the video; so, ifs fine after that. Thanks for the video.

  13. Yes, audio has lot of background noise, but that can’t be helped. But what can be eliminated is the broad banner at the bottom of the entire width of the video. Honestly, it is quite dreadful! I guess the advertising mania catches up with all of us at some point. There are other ways to copyright one’s creations without disfiguring the output and creating a distraction for the viewer.
