Nee Raji Paiyanaa?

This little boy was just furious after playing “goli” with his friend on the streets of Kulithalai after some argument on who won and who didn’t. Just about to leave that place, he sees a pallaku coming and one man running towards him and asked, “come here…you’re being called”. Confused little boy goes near and sees someone sitting with vibuthi smeared all over Him with rudraksha etc.

He asks the boy, “Are you Raji’s son?”

Going back in his mom’s history, she was named by Periyava as “rajarajeswari” – later he okayed her name to be “Rajalakshmi” to stick with madhwa  tradition. This boy doesn’t know any of these…He just remembers very few people calling her with that name.

Then He asks the boy to bring His mom. He runs to his house and tell his mom, “there is someone with no hair on his head sitting in some stuff and people are carrying him…he wants me bring you to him…come”. The mother is now confused. As she leaves the house, she sees the pallaku outside of the house in that small street and sees Mahaperiyava sitting inside….Tear rolls on her cheeks and doing namaskaram….She could not speak….Now this boy understands that this person must be something different….Slowly fear starts to rise…

Periyava asks, “How are you? Is he your son?”

She responds with little sadness on her voice, “yes…life is going on….” Her sadness is due to the loss of her brother/someone close in the family….

“Life has to move on…..Don’t worry….things will be alright….have you done upanayanam to this boy?”

She nods negatively.

“Do it next year…you all will live happily…kshemama iruppel”. Periyava knows this family’s royal background and what they have contributed to the society etc. Blesses the family with both the hands…He hands out a silver dollar with Lord Anjaneyar on one side and Kamakshi on other side…What a blessing to her and this boy! While 1000s of people waited to get blessing, he is being called to be blessed!!

I have always believed that if Periyava had said someone “kshemama iruppel” – that is it….It is final! It has to happen and will happen. This little boy is none other than one of my two bosses and my good friend – Radhakrishnana Rajagopalan (Radha).

Radha is a very successful person in life….Radha is not an average boss but an industry leader in business intelligence area – managing a billion dollar practice. A genius in technology and database…He works 18+ hours daily; travels all around the world – super busy..Yet a humble man, who believes that whatever money he has doesn’t belong to him; it belongs to Periyava…He has kind heart and helps noble causes in a discreet way…It is still surprising when he tells me that he reads almost all of the postings in the blog – not sure where he finds time – that shows his bakthi towards Periyava. Even today, He prays to the silver coin daily regardless of how little time he has. Glad to have a supporting friend like him….

Although I feel happy for Radha, I definitely feel jealous!!! Ellam poorva janma palan!!

Thanks to Radha for sharing this experience when we met few days back….
