பசுவை தேசீயச் செல்வம் என்றே சொல்ல வேண்டும். பால் வற்றின பின்பும் அது செல்வந்தான். பால் வற்றினாலும் அது ஆயுஸ் உள்ளவரையில் சாணம் கொடுத்துக் கொண்டுதானே இருக்கிறது? அந்தச் சாணம் எருவாகப் பிரயோஜனப்படுகிறது. இப்போது புதிதாக ‘கோபர் காஸ்’ என்று அதிலிருந்தே எரிவாயுவும் எடுக்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் கோ ஸம்ரக்ஷணம் – பசுவின் பராமரிப்பு – என்பது பொருளாதார முறையில் வரவுக்கும் செலவுக்கும் ஸரியாக ஈடுகட்டுகிறதா, லாபம் கிடைக்கிறதா என்றெல்லாம் பார்த்து மட்டும் நடக்க வேண்டிய வியாபார காரியமல்ல. முன்னேயே சொன்ன இந்த லௌகிகத்தோடு மட்டும் கோ நின்றுவிடாமல் தெய்விக, வைதிக ஸம்பந்தமுள்ளதாகவுமிருக்கிறது. லௌகிகத்தை விடவும் இந்தப் பெருமைதான் அதற்கு முக்யமானது. ஆகையால் தாயைப் பராமரிப்பது போலவும் தெய்வத் தாயைப் பூஜிப்பது போலவும் கோ ஸம்ரக்ஷணத்தை நாம் நினைக்க வேண்டும். கோவின் மூலம் நாம் லௌகிகமாகப் பயன் பெறுவதை மட்டுமே கருத்தில் கொண்டு, அப்படிப்பட்ட பயனைக் கொடுக்க அதற்குச் சக்தி இல்லாமல் போகும்போது அடிமாட்டுக்காக விற்பதாக நடப்பதற்கு முற்றுப் புள்ளி வைத்தாக வேண்டும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

We should consider cow as our national wealth. Even after it stops giving milk it remains to be a wealth indeed. Isn’t it giving dung as long as it is alive even after it becomes unyielding? The dung is useful as manure. Nowadays they are even getting fuel from it called ‘Gober Gas’. But then ‘Gho Samrakshanam’ is not something like a business activity where we look into the profit and loss involved in it and check out if the income and expenditure tally perfectly. As said earlier the importance of cow doesn’t stop with its practical purposes but go beyond the worldly aspects and stand in a plane as Divine and Godly. This greatness is more important to it than its practical utility. Therefore we should consider preserving the cow as important as protecting our own mother and worshipping the Divine Mother. We should first of all put a full stop to the act of sending the cow to the slaughter houses when it becomes unyielding, by considering only the practical benefits obtained from it. – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – By Sri Periyava Anugraham and all of your support we managed to rescue 97 Gho Mathas/Rishabams/Calves last month (Nov’ 21). As you see in the pictures below, several innocent cows and very young calves that were tied outside illegal slaughter houses/beef shops were rescued directly. A few more minutes and those beautiful jeevans would have faced a gory end.
