Important – Answer to Periyava Quiz and the Solution?

On one side we belong to the religion which proclaims the cow as God and accordingly perform Gho Puja; on the other side we keep sending the unyielding cows to slaughter houses in huge numbers for the sake of their meat and leather; or else we’ve kept them in starvation and under inhuman conditions, letting them to rot and die. This “Hypocrisy” is a great blemish on our part. A long as we fail to preserve the cows properly till they breathe their last on their own, we are not entitled to call ourselves Hindus at all. – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara,

I mentioned about bringing up an important subject in my last two posts and had posted a couple of questions HERE and HERE. Out of more than 20 responses, only a couple  got it right which shows awareness is the foremost need. The correct answer is “Choked by plastics and cannot move”. The demonic impact plastics and garbage items have on cows are beyond words and diabolic. If you live in Chennai or other cities where there is nothing to graze, this a common sight where one will see cows standing near the trash cans/garbage area trying to tear open the trash plastic covers with their mouth. Many a times they could not open them so they start chewing on them resulting in choking and dying. Cows also stand near fruits or vegetable shop hoping someone will feed them something only to be mercilessly chased away by the shopkeepers by hitting them brutally.

While resting, cows brings back the cud (partially digested food) into the mouth for regurgitation. However plastics and other trash items don’t come out resulting in serious choking and collapsing resulting in slow death of cows. I have experienced several rescued cows from my area die this way. While we see cows standing in these garbage areas or vegetables shop we don’t take take them too seriously nor do anything about it. This is what Periyava has emphasized in Deivathin Kural the need to feed and protect cows till they naturally pass away. Unfortunately, in Periyava’s words, we as a society have faltered big time and stand as culprits. We need to understand that cows in Ghosala get a decent meal for couple of times a day but what about the cows that are living in the roadside and are abandoned by their owners? What should we do about them?

For awareness, I’m posting a couple of pictures of the autopsy we performed on a few cows that choked and passed away due to garbage and plastics. Worn out old clothes, nylon rope, sanitary pads, needles, plastic covers, etc. were found in cows stomach. Even though the city cows may not look skinny and look outwardly healthy the fact of the matter is that every cow that live in towns and cities are living a famished life where they don’t have grazing lands nor have anything to eat (we have taken all their grazing lands and built buildings and offices). Add to the fact they are driven out to roads by their owners which makes their lives even more miserable as they are forced to fend themselves by hogging on whatever they get on roads. Very distressing sight but that is the harsh reality that is happening to thousands of cows the very minute we are reading this post. Now that we know the seriousness of the issue and the deadly ramifications, what is the solution?

I will post the solution in the next day or two that can be easily implemented in our localities but for now let’s reflect on the fact what these poor jeevans are going through and we being a mere spectator though we definitely can make a huge change in their lives.

We performed an autopsy on the Madurai cow that passed away. There are a couple of video’s in the link below that shows pounds of garbage being are pulled out from the poor cow’s stomach.

Can understand the anguish. Unfortunately money and money alone has become criteria to assess the importance of the persons. I understand Mahaperiva days are over. Subsequent Gurus, I wish I am wrong, started on money mission and everyone surrounded started justifying that these days one cannot detach from money as its very much needed. This resulted in luxury in everything. Hence Gurus who can boldly tell their audience not to give much importance to wealth, couldn’t as they themselves in the mire. Then who can tell to our community to be responsible and responsive in the matter of our culture and tradition?
It’s open to see and observe how a family or a person from abroad are given special treatment by all concerned. Its always an eye sore for the regular comers/visitors. Of course people in closeness certainly talk about this attitude and leave at it. How people from abroad are swamped? And for what ? Its anybody’s guess.
Madam. Austerity must percolate from top. One cannot justify both luxury in everything and advising others to be champions of our tradition and culture. It cannot happen. Difficult days ahead. Traditional minded ones will be in anguish. This is Kali kalam. My intention is not to hurt anyone. What’s happening now, I just try to be blunt. That is all.
May Gurunatha’s blessings be with all to lead a culturally devoted life.

    • We can say Adi Shankara’s days are over, then subsequent Acharyas’ days are over, and Mahaperiyava’s days are over.. But, we are a generation who have maximum seen only Mahaperiyava and subsequent acharyas. How do we know what life was during those times? We have only a bunch of nastika religions now. But during Shankara’s time, it was 72! He was also born in Kali Yuga! Imagine the amount of responsibility he would have borne! Who said money was not given priority then? There were still thefts of different nature. 1 anna those days is nothing presently! We still cant live on annas and paisa-s! Value of cow or gold those days obviously cannot be compared to the present rates.

Mahaperiyava had given diksha to PuduPeriyava! He himself had said Pudu Periyava has Lakshmi in his hands and the mutt has grown only because of Pudu Periyava fulfilling Mahaperiyava’s desires of growth of Mutt. What money mutt has is nothing to the the way they spend on themselves. They sit on ordinary wood-plans to do puja, give teertha, etc; unlike other mutts! If Pudu Periyava didn’t boldly take up some risky and challenging tasks, there would have been only nastikas roaming everywhere.
Just because of one issue that happened in late 1980’s (during Mahaperiyava’s presence) and a more recent issue schemed by Christian missionaries in early 2000’s, doesn’t decay a character of a Mahaan of Shankaracharya Varya! The people who wanted to decay the fame of such a great Acharya got decayed and all of us know it!

If Pudu Periyava hadn’t gone on yatras, would we be ever seeing those Shankara statues or Shankara Yatri Nivas-es even in such a remote place like North-East? And similarly, now, Bala Periyava is guiding all of us in so many ways!

      • Obviously we cant expect Acharyas to talk with each and everyone, everytime! Because we go with that expectation, we get disappointed! We should not feel that they talk only with VVIPs.. They treat everyone with care. Just that we can’t see or understand and that’s our nature.

Luxury as you mentioned is there ONLY in mutts near Tunga.
Have you seen Kanchi Periyavas performing puja sitting on a golden or silver throne?
Have you seen Kanchi Periyavas giving theertham sitting on a golden or silver throne?
Have you seen them pouring the theertham in some silver vessel where you collect theertham from, unlike some mutt which is also near the above mentioned mutt near Tunga.
They sit in an ordinary wooden plank!
        You don’t find GOLD shining everywhere!! Because all that Gold that they could have created out of the wealth has been channelised into Health, Education, Veda, Cow, etc;

Unlike some mutts that keep hoarding all gold and silver and focus selfishly only for themselves (but act as though they do for others!), Kanchi Mutt has always been and will forever be only a mutt that focuses on loka-kshemam! Be it a beggar, be it a rich aristocrat, be it some politician, be it some vvvvip!

  2. Jaya Jaya Sankara, Hara Hara Sankara.

Humble namaskarams to all. The above message from Smt. Shanti is LOUD and CLEAR. We can clearly understand the ANGER and FRUSTRATION emanated on her heart on seeing the visuals of this post which is really disturbing. It is REALLY UN-HUMAN to let our loved cows to die off like this. WE BOTH MEN AND WOMEN should do as much as we can to save all the cows in our country. There are numerous one off gho kaingaryams happening around our beloved nation in a small or big way. But, as Smt. Shanti said, gho slaughter should come to a BIG STOP. Men and women should understand our responsibilities to up-bring our culture for the betterment of the society as well as the gho dharma.

Individuals in this group, who have access to Govt. Of India policy makers, please make an attempt. I wrote to our Hon’ble PM to stop AUCTIONING THE COWS from Govt. Cattle Farms. No response. Please do whatever it takes to save our Paramparyam and our beloved Ghos.

I am with Smt. Shanti on her thoughts. Namaskarams to her.

Sri Maha Periyava Blessings be with all of us.

    Regards.

    Dr. Sekar Gopal.

  3. When woman cannot even respect a gho-mata and do a puja for her or tulsi devi or deepalakshmi, where and when will the in-born “lakshmi” in her ever shine?

Are women women these days? Reason is Men and their parents who insist on getting married only to working woman who earns more than their sons, so that those “maamiyaars” and “maamanaars” can show off shamelessly to the world including acharyas, saying that their “maatu-ponnu” is harvard-fed, stanford-fed, oxford-fed gruhalakshmis who don’t know how to even light a lamp or do a pradakshia-namaskara to tulsi devi! well, how will she know all this conservative practices – she knows only how to wear a dress meant for her kid, she knows only how to cook instant ready made 1-minute food, she knows only how to be on mobile throughout the day!

If the Men of the family are not lazy, does his share of learning wisely at the age of learning, without whiling away time, and earns decently later and puts a strict condition that he will marry a woman who will stay at home only taking care of family (and may earn from home if she wishes to, but not by going to work outside), why would we find shameless Rakshashi-Brahmins everywhere?
The moment women were given freedom, they’ve misused it and have created a big havoc for the society, especially these present-day absolutely shamless Brahmin married woman who may be coaches at gym, lifting weights, to show the world they can do anything even at the age of 60+, leave alone those 30+ monsters!!

Shame on those drunkard females, who loves to party and let their hair loose, with no ornaments, empty foreheads.. These useless good for nothing Brahmin women of any age should first be slapped hard by their husbands and ensure they don’t step out of their house for creating an unhealthy nonsense atmosphere at their home as well as outside; and rather make them behave like a proper gruhalakshmi. If they can’t ensure their wives follow their words, such Men should have the guts of just putting an end to such relationships! It is better for these men to be alone than marry an idiot and contribute to more nuisance for the society, by bringing in another generation of foolish rakshasas and rakshasis like them!

  4. Although unable to digest seeing these pictures, we should share this with everyone on every social platform available, so people who are not aware of the fact of the amount of junk that they (cows) consume for satiating their hunger or thirst;
-> get to realize the role of one’s duty in feeding nutritious stuff for the cows or rishabams (for that, govt. should first ensure people are fined heavily for not throwing waste in the closed containers prescribed (that cannot be opened by animals/birds easily) and not drop junk wherever they please! Not just that, fine people who cannot even maintain basic hygiene in public. People should first understand how much cleanliness plays an important rols, not just in their homes, but also in public!)
-> stop using plastics of any kind (mistake of the govt. to have at the first place started importing plastics and all other useless stuff from China and other selfish nations that aim at destroying India)
-> make priority efforts in just banning cow slaughter of any kind. (let all those selfish barbarians die of hunger, thirst and poverty!
We have seen how many barbarians just act as those they love cows and respect cows; and without any shame consume cows! Never trust such fake M’s or Xn’s.
True astikas should come out in large numbers and support the banning of cow slaughter in India (this will happen with sincere and continous prayers to go-mata herself and the lokaguru Krishna). We should not just stop with this, there are so many more items on a true astika’s agenda. Because we having been sittling idle on these matters and many more matters like temples, etc it is affecting us in the form of diseases and such. If we continue to sit quiet, wonder if India will still be a land of true astikas!
