1956-ஆம் வருடம். இந்திய ராணுவத்தில் மெடிகல் ஆபிசராக பணியாற்றிய ஒரு டாக்டருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட அபூர்வ அனுபவம் இது
ஜப்பானை எதிர்த்து பர்மாவில் போர் நடந்த போது அங்கே பாதிக்கப்பட்ட இராணுவ வீரர்களுக்கு சிகிச்சை அளிக்கும் மகத்தான பணியை இவர் புரிந்தார்.
அச்சமயத்தில் இவர் ஒரு தடவை,போர்க்களத்தில் இருந்த சமயம் ஒரு குண்டு இவரையும் தாக்கியதில் மயக்க முற்று விழுந்து விட்டார். நினைவு இழந்த நிலையில் விழுந்து கிடந்தவர், தான் ஒரு முதல் உதவி ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் படுத்துக் கொண்டு இருப்பதை உணர்ந்தார்.உடனே தன் கீழ் வேலை செய்த ஒரு சிப்பாயிடம் என்ன நடந்தது என்று கேட்டார் டாக்டர்.
அவனோ படிப்பறிவு இல்லாதவன். டாக்டருக்கு உதவி செய்ய அனுப்பப்பட்டவன்.ஆனால், டாக்டர் மயக்கமடைந்து விழுந்ததும் நிலை குலைந்து நின்று விட்டான்.என்ன செய்வது என்று புரியாமல் நின்று கொண்டு இருந்தவன் முன், ஒரு சந்யாசி காவி உடையுடன் தோன்றினாராம்
“ஏன் இப்படி ஒண்ணுமே செய்யாமே நிக்கறே…உடனே டாக்டரை உன் தோளில் தூக்கிக் கொண்டு பக்கத்தில் இருக்கும் ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு ஓடு” என்று சொல்லி மறைந்து விட்டாராம்..
அவர் சொன்னபடி சிப்பாயும் நடந்து கொண்டதால், டாக்டர் பிழைத்துக் கொண்டார் ஏதோ படிப்பு வாசனை இல்லாதவன் கூறுகிறான் என்று நினைத்து, டாக்டரும் அந்த சந்யாசி கதைக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் தரவில்லை. மறுத்தும் விட்டார் என்றுதான் சொல்ல வேண்டும்
சில மாதங்களில் அவர் பூர்ண குணமடைந்தார். அத்துடன் போரும் முடிந்து இருந்தது. அதனால் எப்போதும் வணங்கும் தெய்வமான மகா பெரியவாளை தரிசிக்க நேரில் வந்தார்.
ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளிடம் அந்த சிப்பாய் சொன்ன அபூர்வ நிகழ்ச்சியை இப்போது மகானிடம் சொல்ல மெதுவாக ஆரம்பித்தார். அதற்குள் சர்வ வியாபியான அந்த ஈஸ்வரரே முந்திக் கொண்டார்
“எனக்குத் தெரியுமே…நானே அங்கு வந்திருந்தேன். நீ தான் என்னைப் பார்க்கலே” என்றதும் டாக்டர் திகைப்பினால் உறைந்து விட்டார். அப்படி யெனில் அந்த சிப்பாய் சொன்னது அத்தனையும் உண்மை என்பது, இப்போது தான் டாக்டருக்குப் புரிந்தது..
எங்கும் பரப்பிரம்மயாய்,ஸ்ரீபெரியவா வியாபித்தருளி தன்னைக் காப்பாற்றினதையும், அதை அந்த ஈஸ்வரரே காட்சி சொல்லி மெய்ப்பித்து அருளியதையும்,டாக்டர் அறிந்து உருகிப்போனார்
இந்த மிலிடரி டாக்டர் தனக்கு நடந்த மெய் சிலிர்க்கும் அனுபவத்தை கண்களில் நீர் வழிய விவரித்ததாக ,டாக்டர் கல்யாணராமன் சொன்ன தகவல் இது.
இப்படிப்பட்ட பெருங்கருணை தெய்வத்தின் மேல் நாம் கொள்ளும் பூரண சரணாகதி,பக்தி நம்மை சகல தோஷங்களிலிருந்து விடுபடச் செய்து,எல்லா நலன்களயும் ஈந்து சகல சௌபாக்கியங்களுடனும்,சர்வ மங்களத்துடனும் காப்பாற்றி அருளும் என்பது சத்தியம்..

I am an octagenarian, having wasted all my life in aimless pursuits. Of late, I have been drawn to Maha Periava, reading as many posts about Him as possible,
I thought I could render a small service in fulfilling your desire by translating, with my limited ability, Smt. Saraswathi’s post as follows:
Praise be to the Omniscient, Omnipresent Maha Periava! There is not the least doubt that He still dwells among us in his subtle form. Prostrations to His Feet! Keep chanting His Name!

Sorry, now I realise you probably wanted the translation of the story itself. Here goes –
“The Omnipresent Being”
This is the true story of a mind-boggling incident that happened in the War front –narrated in 1956 by an Army Medical Officer who had served during the World War. The accompanying photograph shows Periava in his customary saffron robe in the war front.

This was the experience of the Army Officer when he was treating the wounded soldiers fighting the Japanese in Burma Front (now Myanmar). Suddenly he was hit by a bullet during the war, making him fall unconscious. When he came to, he realised he was lying in a First Aid Centre, and asked a soldier who was nearby as to what had happened. This soldier was illiterate, and had been deputed to assist the Doctor. When the Doctor himself had been hit, he was at his wit’s end, not knowing what to do next. At that time, a monk in saffron robes appeared from nowhere, and told the soldier ,”Why are you just standing there doing nothing? Take the Doctor on your shoulder and run to the nearest hospital!” After giving this instruction to the soldier, the monk disappeared. Since the doctor was treated in time, he was saved. However he did not accord much credence to the Sepoy’s story, since the latter was an illiterate rustic after all, possibly he even rejected it.
The doctor recovered fully in due course, and the war had also come to an end. After some time, he went to Kanchi to have Maha Periava’s darshan, and started narrating to Him the story as he had heard it from the sepoy. Imagine his surprise when the Sage pre-empted him, and said “ You know, I had come there – only you failed to recognize me!” . The doctor was astounded when he heard this and realized that what the sepoy had told him had really happened.
The story was heard first hand from the doctor by Dr. Kalyanaraman, who said that the army doctor was shedding tears while narrating it.
Maha Periava is no doubt God Incarnate. By surrendering ourselves totally before Him, there is no doubt we would be showered with His blessings.
