ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவளின் மஹிமை

துறவின் இலக்கணம்

பிரம்ம ரிஷியாம் சுகமுனிவரின் மேன்மையிலும் மேன்மைக்கு ஒப்பாகத் திகழும் மஹாஞானியாம் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவா சாக்ஷாத் சர்வேஸ்வரரின்  அவதாரம் என்றபோதிலும், தான் பூண்டிருந்த தவக்கோலத்திற்கு இலக்கணம் வகுத்தவர்.

மதுரைக்கு அருகில் பரமேஸ்வரரான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா முகாமிட்டிருந்த சமயம், மீனாக்ஷி அம்மன்  ஆலய மஹாகும்பாபிஷேத்திற்கு வருகை தருமாறு தமிழகத்தின் முதுபெரும் புகழ் செல்வர் பி.டி.ராஜன் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பித்தார். மனித உருப்போந்துள்ள ஈசன் அப்போது சற்று உடல்நலம் குன்றியிருந்தார்.  ஆகவே பெருமான் பாதயாத்திரை மேற்கொள்ளாமல் காரில் வரவேண்டுமென்று ராஜன் அவர்கள் வேண்டிக் கொண்டார்.

உடனே புதிர் போன்ற ஒரு புன்னகையோடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருகிலிருந்த பக்தரைப் பார்த்து, “நீ போய் தெரு எப்படி இருக்குன்னு பாத்துண்டு வா” என்று பணித்தார். கொஞ்சம் மழை பெய்து சகதியோடிருந்த சாலையில் கார்கள், லாரிகள், பேருந்துகள் ஓடியதால், சக்கரங்களுக்கு அடியில் நசுங்கி பல ஊர்வனவைகளும், நத்தை போன்ற உயிரினங்களும், சென்ற பக்தர்களின் கண்களில் பட்டன.

தான் பார்த்தவைகளை, அருவருப்பு இல்லாத வகையில் பக்குவமாக, திரும்பி வந்த பக்தர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.

துறவியின் இலக்கணமான தூயோன், “இதனால்தான் நான் நடந்தே போகிறேன். சன்யாசிகளுக்கு உடமை இல்லாமை, பிரம்மச்சரியம்,  அஹிம்சை மூன்றும் முக்கிய வ்ரதங்கள். இந்த மூன்றில் ஒன்றுக்கொன்று ஏற்றத் தாழ்வு கிடையாது. சமமான முக்கியத்வம்தான். பகவான் கூட நமக்குப்  பாதங்களை, நடுவிலே பாலம் மாதிரி வளைவு கொடுத்துப் படைச்சிருக்கிறது அந்த இடுக்கு வழியா ஊர்வனவெல்லாம் மிதிபடாம நகர்றத்துக்குத்தான்.” என்று தன் மேன்மைக்கு எடுத்துக் காட்டாக விளக்கம் சொன்னார்.

இப்பேற்பட்ட மாபெரும் துறவியை சாக்ஷாத்  பரமேஸ்வரராக தங்கள் அனுபவத்தில் கண்டு கொண்டவர்களுள் திரு டி.வி.சுவாமிநாதன் அவர்களும் ஒருவர். 1957-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவா மைலாப்பூர் சமஸ்க்ருத கல்லூரியில் முகாமிட்டிருந்தபோது, திரு சுவாமிநாதன் வானொலி நிகழ்ச்சி நிரல் ஏட்டின் உதவி ஆசிரியராகப் பணியாற்றி வந்தார். அலுவலக நேரம் போக எப்போதும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தரிசனத்திற்கு  சென்று விடுவார். அனேகமாக ஒவ்வொரு நாள் இரவும் பூஜை முடிந்தபின் மாமுனிவரின் பிரவசனம் தெய்வத்தின் குரலாக ஒலிக்கும்.

இப்படி ஒரு நாள் இரவு எல்லோரும் நமஸ்கரித்து, உத்தரவு பெற்றுப் போய்விட்ட பின்னரும், தவ ஸ்ரேஷ்டர் த்யானத்தில் ஆழ்ந்து மேடையில் அமர்ந்திருந்தார். அருகில் குத்துவிளக்கு சுடொரொளியிட ஒரே ஒரு சிப்பந்தி மட்டும் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தார். இந்த அமைதியான  சூழ்நிலையிலிருந்து மாற மனமின்றி சுவாமிநாதனும் சற்று தூரத்திலேயே நின்றார்.

அப்போது அந்த சிப்பந்தி இவரை அணுகி “பெரியவாள் உத்தரவாகிறது, வாருங்கள்” என்று அறிவித்தார். இவருக்கு இன்ப  அதிர்ச்சி.  வியப்போடு உத்தமரின் அருகே  சென்றார். அருகில் அழைத்த ஈஸ்வரர், இவரைப் பார்த்து, “நீ கலெக்டரா?” என்று வினவினார்.

தன்னிடம் தவறுதலாக தவசீலர் இப்படிக் கேட்கிறாரே என்று இவர் சற்றுத் தடுமாறி விட்டார். பிறகு, “நான் கலெக்டர் இல்லை; அகில இந்திய ரேடியோவில் உதவி ஆசிரியராகப் பணி  ஆற்றுகிறேன்” என்று பதிலுரைத்தார். பதில் சொல்லும்போதே இவருக்கு மலைப்பாக இருந்தது. இவர் வானொலியில் இந்த வேலை பார்ப்பது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவளுக்கு ஏற்கெனவே தெரிந்த விஷயந்தான். பின் ஏன் இப்படிக் கேட்டாரென்று புரியவில்லை.

பக்தவத்சலரான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இவரை விடாமல், “நீ கலெக்டர் பரீட்சை எழுதினயோ?” என்றார். சுவாமிநாதனுக்கு இலக்கியத்தில் ஈடுபாடு உண்டேயன்றி நிர்வாகத் துறையில் புகும் எண்ணமே இருந்ததில்லை. மேலும் ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் பரீட்சை எழுத அரசு நிர்ணயித்திருந்த வயது வரம்பு 25க்குள் பரீட்சை எழுதியிருக்கவில்லை. ஆனால் உத்தியோக அனுபவம் உள்ளவர்களுக்கு வயதை 30-ஆக உயர்த்தி, 1956-இல் நடத்திய  தேர்வில்  21,000  பேர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். இவரும் எழுதினார்.  அதில் 1000 பேரை ஸ்தானத்தின் அடிப்படையில்  தேர்வு செய்து பட்டியலைப் பிரசுரித்திருந்தனர். தேர்வு அழைப்பை எதிர் நோக்கி இவர் காத்திருந்த பொழுதுதான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இவரை ‘நீ கலெக்டரா?” என்று கேட்டு வியப்படையச்  செய்திருந்தார்.

பெருந்தெய்வம் இப்படிக் கேட்டதும், தான் தேர்வுப்  பட்டியலை எதிர்நோக்கியிருந்த விவரங்களை சுவாமிநாதன் சமர்ப்பித்தார்.

உடனே அருகிலிருந்த சிப்பந்தியை நோக்கி அந்த சிவசங்கரன், “கலெக்டர்னா கன்னாபின்னான்னு கத்துவார்னு  நெனைக்கறயா? இவன் மாதிரி அடக்கமா இருப்பா!” என்று கூறிவிட்டு, இவரைப் பார்த்து, “க்ஷேமமாய்ப் போய்ட்டு வா!”  என்று உத்தரவு நல்கினார்.

பின்னர்தான் இந்த விஷயம் தெரிய வந்தது. அன்று தரிசனத்திற்கு வந்திருந்த யாரோ ஒருவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தொடும் அளவிற்கு நெருங்கிவிட்டபோது, குறுக்கே கரம் நீட்டித் தடுத்த சிப்பந்தியிடம் வன்மொழியில் பேசியிருக்கிறார். கைங்கர்யம் செய்துகொண்டிருந்த அந்த சிப்பந்தியின் மனம் புண்பட்டு, “சட்டை போட்டுக்காம மடத்திலே நின்னுண்டிருந்தா வரவாளெல்லாம் தங்களைக் கலெக்டர்னு நினைச்சிண்டு, கன்னா பின்னான்னு கத்தறா” என்று தாயுமானவரான குணசீலரிடம் குறைப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.

இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நடந்த ஒரே வாரத்தில் பெங்களூரில் நேர்முகத் தேர்வுக்கு இவருக்கு அழைப்பு வந்தது. அடுத்து தினப் பத்திரிகையில் நியமனத்திற்குத் தெரிந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட 102 பேரில் இவர் பெயரும் பிரசுரமாகியிருந்தது.  21,000 பேர் பங்கு கொண்ட தேர்வில் சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வரரே தேர்வு செய்ததுபோல் 102 பேரில் இவரும் இடம் பெற்று விட்டார்.

அருளாளரின் வாக்கின் மேன்மைதான் என்னே! உலகெலாம் உணர்ந்து ஓதற்கரியவரான ஒப்பிலாதெய்வம் அறியாததுதான் என்ன?!

துணை வரும் தயாளர்

தான் பிறவி எடுத்ததன் பெரும் பயனாக ஓரிருக்கை கோயில் உருவாக்குவது என்ற மாபெரும் மனத்துடன் கனவிலும் நினைவிலும் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளை இருத்தி வாழும் ஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமா அவர்கள்  அந்தத் திருக்கோயிலுக்கான நிலத்தைத் தன் சக்திக்கு மேலாக பல சிரமங்களை சந்தித்து, ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் அதீத பக்தி என்ற ஒரே பலத்தோடு வாங்கி முடித்தார்.

அப்படி வாங்கிய  நிலத்தில் உலகநாதரான  ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் திருக்கோயில் உருவாக, ருத்ர ஹோமங்கள், பாலாபிஷேகங்கள் என்று சதா அந்த உயரிய எண்ணமுடனேயே இருந்தார். அச்சமயம் திருக்கோயில் நிலத்தில் யாரும் எதிர்பாரா நிலையில் ஒரு சிக்கல் ஏற்பட்டது. உயர் மின்சாரம் போகும் பாதையில் நிலத்தின் நடுவே பெரிய போஸ்ட் நிறுவப்போவதாக மின்சார வாரியம் ஏற்பாடு செய்துவிட்டது. இப்படிப்பட்டவைகளுக்கு யாரும் தடை சொல்லக்கூடாதென்று விதிகள் உள்ளன. மிகவும் அத்தியாவசமாக நிறுவப்படும் போஸ்ட், நிலத்தின் மிக முக்கிய பெரிய பகுதியை அடைத்து, பெருங்கோயிலின் பணிகளுக்கு இடையூறு செய்ய வாய்ப்பிருந்தது. இந்நிலையில் பிரதோஷ மாமாவின் மனவேதனை சொல்லிலடங்காது. ஆனால் ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவா இந்த சிக்கலை சுலபமாகத் தீர்த்து விடுவார் என்ற பூர்ண நம்பிக்கையோடு பிரதோஷம் மாமா தன் இல்லத்திலிருந்தே பலவித முயற்சிகள் செய்து கொண்டிருந்தார்.

இந்நிலையில் அடுத்த நாள் டவரை நிர்மாணம் செய்ய முடிவானது. முதல் நாள் பிரதோஷம் மாமா தீவிரமாகப் பல பேருக்கு ஃபோன் மூலம் சொல்லி இதை நிறுத்தும் முயற்சியில் முழு இரவும் தூக்கமின்றி கழித்தார்.

அதிகாலை மூன்று மணிக்கு ராணிப்பேட்டையில் பாபு என்பவருக்கு பிரதோஷம் மாமாவிடமிருந்து ஃபோன் வருகிறது. அவரை உடனே வேலூர் காட்பாடிக்குச்  சென்று அங்கு மின்சார வாரிய ஜூனியர் இஞ்சினியரைச் சந்தித்து டவர் நிறுவுவதைப் பற்றி ஒரு தகவலைத் தெரிவிக்குமாறு மாமா  தொலைபேசியில் கூறினார். அந்த ஆபீசர் அதிகாலையிலேயே கிளம்பி குறிப்பிட்ட ரயிலைப் பிடித்துப் போய்விடுவாரென்றும் அதற்குள் அவரிடம் தகவலை அவசியம் சொல்லியாக வேண்டும் என்றும் மாமா சொல்லிவிட்டார். ராணிப்பேட்டை பாபு ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் பக்தி ருசியை மாமாவின் மூலமாக அனுபவிப்பவர். அவர் குடும்பத்தில் அனைவரும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்யும் பாக்யம் பெற்று அருளை அனுபவிப்பவர்கள். ஒருமுறை பிரதோஷம் மாமா ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு ஒரு மண்டலம் தினமும் 108 லிட்டர் பாலாபிஷேகம் செய்யத் தீர்மானித்து பாபுவிடம் தினமும் காலையில் பால் வாங்கி வந்து சேர்க்கும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்ய முடியுமா என்று கேட்டார். மாமா சொல்வதை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா உத்தரவாகவே எண்ணும் உயரிய மனம் கொண்ட பாபு அதை ஏற்றுக் கொண்டபோதிலும் ஒரு மண்டலம் முழுவதும் அது எப்படி நிறைவேறப்போகிறதென்று பயம் மேலிட்டது. பாபு தினமும் அவர் வேலை நிமித்தம் ராணிப்பேட்டையிலிருந்து சென்னை செல்ல வேண்டும். பிறகு இரவில் அவர் ராணிப்பேட்டை திரும்பியதும் அவருடைய உயர் அதிகாரி இரவில் இவருக்கு அலுவலக வேலை சம்பந்தமாக ஃபோன் செய்வார். அதனால் ராணிப்பேட்டையில் இவர் தன் வீட்டில் இரவில் இருந்தே தீர வேண்டும். இல்லையென்றால் அதிகாரியின் உத்தரவை நிறைவேற்ற முடியாது.

இந்நிலையில் பாலாபிஷேகக் கைங்கர்யத்திற்குக் காஞ்சீபுரத்தில் தங்கினால்தான் காலை நான்கு மணிக்கு வேனில் சென்று 108 லிட்டர் பால் வாங்கி வந்து தர இயலும். ஆக இப்படிப்பட்ட சூழ்நிலையில் கிடைத்தற்கரிய கைங்கர்யத்தை பிரதோஷம் மாமா ஆசியுடன் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டார். இரவே வந்து காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் தங்கி, காலையில் பாலைக் கொண்டு சேர்த்துவிட்டு இல்லக்கோயிலில் அமிர்தமாக மாமி கொடுத்த பழைய சாதத்தை சாப்பிட்டுவிட்டு சென்னை சென்று பணிகளைச் செய்து, பிறகு ராணிப்பேட்டைக்கு சென்று, சாயங்காலம் தன் வீட்டில் தலையைக் காட்டிவிட்டுத் திரும்பவும் இரவு காஞ்சீபுரம் என 48 நாட்களும் கைங்கர்யம் செய்தார்.

இதில் அதிசயம் என்னவென்றால், அந்த அதிகாரி, இவர் எங்கேயிருக்கிறார் என்று வேண்டுமென்றே பரீட்சித்துப் பார்க்க ராணிப்பேட்டைக்கு ஃபோன் செய்யும் வழக்கம் கொண்டிருந்த நிலையில், இந்த 48 நாட்களில் ஒரு நாளும் ஃபோன் செய்யவில்லை. ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் சரணாகதம் செய்துவிட்டால் எதுவும் சாத்யம் என்பது பாபுவின் எண்ணம்.

இப்படி ஒரு எண்ணம் கொண்ட பாபுவிற்கு இப்போதும் மாமாவிடமிருந்து அதிகாலை மூன்று மணிக்குக் காட்பாடி சென்று மின்சாரவாரியப் பொறியாளரை உடனே பார்த்து சேதி சொல்லும்படி தகவல் வந்ததும் ஒன்றும் தோன்றாமல் நின்றார்.

அப்போது மிகவும் பலத்த மழை. வெளியே தலை காட்ட முடியாத நிலை. அப்படியே வெளியே வந்தாலும், அச்சமயத்தில் பேருந்துகள் எதுவும் காட்பாடிக்கு இல்லை. குறைந்தது ஐந்து மணிக்குத்தான் பஸ். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் பாரத்தைப்  போட்டுவிட்டு பாபு வீட்டைவிட்டுக் கிளம்பினார். தன் ஸ்கூட்டரிலேயே காட்பாடி போய்விடலாமென்று வெளியே வந்ததும் அதுவரை ஓயாமல் பெய்த மழை ஈஸ்வரரின் கருணையில் சட்டென்று நின்றது.

சுமார் 30 கிலோமீட்டர் தூரம் ஸ்கூட்டரில் சென்றபோது ஏற்படாத எண்ணம் காட்பாடி சென்றதும் உதித்தது. மின்சாரப் பொறியாளர் பெயரை மட்டும் மாமா சொன்னர். அவர் அதிகாலை ரயிலைப் பிடித்துப் போவதாகவும் சொன்னார். ஆனால் விலாசம் சொல்லவில்லை. காலை மூன்றரை மணி அளவில் ஆளரவமில்லாத சூழ்நிலையில் யாரைக் கேட்பதென்று புரியாமல் மின்சாரவாரிய அலுவலகத்தில் விசாரிக்க அங்கு போனார். அங்கு யாரையோ எழுப்பிக் கேட்டதில் சரியான தகவல் கிடைக்கவில்லை.

“பரமேஸ்வர ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளே எனக்கொரு வழி காட்டமாட்டாயா?” என்று அவர் தயாபரரை வேண்டி நின்றார். திக்குத் தெரியாமல் அவர் ஸ்கூட்டரில் சுற்றியபோது, அங்கு ஒரு பால் பூத் திறக்கப்பட்டு, ஒருசிலர் வந்துபோன வண்ணம் இருந்தனர்.

ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளை முழுமூச்சாகப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு பாபு அவர்கள் அந்த ஒரு சிலரிடம் போதிய தகவல் இல்லாமல் அவர் பெயரை மட்டும் சொல்லிக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது ஒரு அதிசயம் நடந்தது. யாரும் பதில் சொல்லாமல் விழித்தபோது எங்கிருந்தோ ஒரு வயதான கிழவி அங்கு வந்து, “அந்த ஐயரோட வீடுதானே? நான் வழி காட்டறேன்” என்று முன்வந்தாள்.

“ரொம்ப தூரம் போகணும்” என்று அந்தக் கிழவி சொல்ல, பாபு அவளைத் தன் ஸ்கூட்டரில் ஏற்றிக் கொண்டு இப்படி அப்படி என்று பல வளைவுகளைக் கடந்து வெகு கோடியில் இருந்த பொறியாளர் வீட்டை அடைந்தார். விலாசம் இருந்தாலும் நிச்சயமாகக் கண்டு பிடிக்க முடியாத நிலையில் இருந்த  அந்த வீட்டை அச்சமயத்தில் தானே வலிய வந்து ஒரு வயதான கிழவி வழி காட்டியது பாபுவிற்கு அளவில்லாத அதிசயத்தை உணர்த்தியது.

அந்த சூழ்நிலையில், தான் எப்படி ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளின் பூர்ண அனுக்ரஹத்தை அனுபவித்தேன் என்பதை பாபு இன்றும் நினைத்து சிலாகித்துக் கூறுகிறார்.

மேலும் பொறியாளர் வீட்டைவிட்டுக் கிளம்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது இவர் போய் விஷயத்தைச் சொன்னதும் அதற்கான மாற்று உத்தரவு வந்துவிட்டதாகவும், அதற்காகத் திருவள்ளூர்  செல்வதாகவும் அவர் கூறியபோது பாபு மிகவும் மகிழ்ந்தார்.

இப்படி, நடக்கவே அரிதான செயல்களை எல்லாம் ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் அனுக்ரஹம் மிக எளிதாக முடித்து வைத்திருப்பது பலருடைய அனுபவத்தில் தெரிகின்றது.

இப்பேற்பட்ட மஹா ஞானியை நாமும் பற்றிக் கொண்டால் வாழ்வில் எல்லா நலன்களும் பெற்று, தீமைகள் அகன்று சர்வமங்களமும், சௌபாக்யமும் பெற்று இன்புறலாம்.

தவசீலர் பீடமேற்று அலங்கரித்த காஞ்சி பீடத்தில் தற்போது வீற்றிருக்கும் அருளாளர்களையும் தரிசித்து நலமடைவோமாக.

பாடுவார் பசி தீர்ப்பாய், பரவுவார் பிணி களைவாய் !

Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyavaal Mahimai

The definition of sainthood

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

Sri Periyava was camping near Madurai in those days. The Kumbabishegam of Madurai Meenakshi Amman was supposed to happen during that time and Sri P.T. Rajan had invited Sri Periyava to attend and grace the function. Sri Periyava was not feeling well and Sri P.T. Rajan requested Sri Periyava to travel in a car and not walk.

Sri Periyava smiled and asked one of the devotee to check the road conditions outside. The devotee went and found that the roads were all wet and slushy due to the rains. He also saw that a lot of small animals like snails were lying dead in the road due to all the different vehicles passing through it. The devotee came back and explained all of this in a very decent way.

After hearing it Sri Periyava said, “The essence of being a sanyasi are not to collect or keep any personal things, Brahmacharya and Ahimsa. All of these should be treated equally and there should not be any compromise to any of these three. Even God has given all of us a curved feet so that the small animals in the earth can go unharmed.”

Thiru T.V. Swaminathan was also one of the devotee who had experienced Sri Periyava as Sarveshwaran. When Sri Periyava was camping at Mylapore Sanskrit College, Thiru Swaminathan was the assistant editor at the All India Radio station. Apart from his office time, he used to go for Sri Periyava’s darshan everyday evening. Almost daily after Pooja, Sri Periyava used to do pravachanam. This will sound like the voice of God.

One day, after the pravachanam, almost everyone got permission from Sri Periyava to leave. Even after everyone left, Sri Periyava was still at the stage. With one small lamp at His side and a Sippanthi, there were no one else present. Sri Periyava was meditating and Swaminathan did not want to leave such a calm and peaceful place.

The Sippanthi approached Swaminathan and informed him that Sri Periyava had called him. Swaminathan was surprised and walked towards Sri Periyava. Once he went near the Sarveshwaran, Sri Periyava asked, “Are you a collector?”

Swaminathan was embarrassed since he felt that Sri Periyava had asked the wrong question. He replied, “I am not a collector. I work as assistant editor at the All India Radio station.” Swaminathan replied still surprised why Sri Periyava had asked that question. Sri Periyava already knew where he worked. Swaminathan could not understand why Sri Periyava had asked that question.

Sri Periyava did not stop there and asked, “Did you write the collector exam?” Swaminathan was interested in literature but not in administration. Also Swaminathan was unable to write the exam before the age limit that was set as 25 years. But in 1956, the age limit was increased to 30 for anyone with work experience. There were almost 21,000 more people who wrote the exam that year including Swaminathan. Around 1000 had been shortlisted based on their rank and the list was published. Swaminathan had been waiting for the results and it was this time when Sri Periyava had asked this question.

It was then that Swaminathan understood and told Sri Periyava that he is waiting for the results of the exam. Immediately Sri Periyava looked at the Sippanthi and said, “Did you think that collectors always keep shouting at everyone? No they will be calm like him.” Sri Periyava then blessed Swaminathan and gave him permission to leave.

Later it was known that one of the devotee who had come for Sri Periyava’s darshan earlier in the day had come very close to Sarveshwaran as if to touch Him. The Sippanthi had to put his hand in between and stop the devotee. When the Sippanthi had stopped, the devotee had shouted at the Sippanthi. The Sippanthi was hurt and later had complained to Sri Periyava that “If we are standing at the Srimatam without shirt, everyone who comes think of themselves as collectors and shout at us.”

In a week after the incident, Swaminathan got an interview call to be held at Bangalore. On the following day, out of the 102 candidates that were selected, Swaminathan’s name was one of them. It was published in the local daily. Of the 21000 candidates who had applied, it was as if Sri Periyava Himself had selected Swaminathan and placed him in the 102 final candidates.

Doesn’t it show the power of Sri Periyava’s words? What is there in this world that Sri Periyava doesn’t know?

The kind hearted who always accompanies us

Sri Pradosham Mama’s biggest dream in this birth was to build a temple for Sri Periyava at Orikkai. Mama had always prayed to Sri Periyava, even in his dreams, to achieve this. The land for the temple was brought after a long struggle and Mama had to pay an amount beyond his capacity to purchase it. Mama’s only strength was his Sri Periyava’s bhakti.

Mama did not stop with the land purchase, but also performed Rudra homams, Balabhishegam regularly. During that time a problem arose in that land. The electricity board had planned to install a big transformer since the land was in the path of transferring high capacity electricity. There were laws that such requests should not be contested against. The electricity post that was supposed to be installed was in the most important portion of land and will hinder the construction of the temple. Sri Pradosham Mama’s misery could not be described. But still Mama completely trusted that Sri Periyava will resolve the problem and continued to try all the options that were available.

As these activities were progressing, the construction of the post was planned to start the next day. Mama tried calling a lot of people the previous night to see if something could be done to stop this. He was unable to sleep the entire night.

It was 3 am and Mama called Babu at Ranipettai. He was asked to go to Vellore-Katpadi and convey a message about the installation of the electricity tower to the junior engineer there. The engineer usually leaves early in the morning and Babu was supposed to reach and convey the message before he left.

Ranipettai Babu enjoys Sri Periyava’s Bhakti through Pradosham Mama. Everyone in his family have been blessed to do Sri Periyava kainkaryam. Once Sri Pradosham Mama decided to perform 108 liter milk abhishegam for Sri Periyava for one Manadalam (48 days). He had requested Babu’s help to get the milk for this. Even though Babu had agreed Mama’s request considering that it was Sri Periyava’s request, he had a doubt. He did not know if he will be able to arrange the milk regularly for 48 days. Babu had to travel to Chennai daily for work. Once he reaches back home to Ranipettai, he will have to talk to his higher official. So it was very important for him to be back at his home for the call.

But for performing the kainkaryam, Babu had to stay at Kanchipuram, so that he could go early in the morning around 4 am to get 108 liter milk in a van. He would stay at Kanchipuram, deliver the milk, then eat the tasty curd rice prepared my Mami and then go to Chennai, complete his work then go back to Ranipettai and then to Kanchipuram. This kainkaryam continued for 48 days.

The surprising part of all of this was, the higher officer who used to test where Babu was by calling Ranipettai, did not even call once during those 48 days. Babu took this as Sri Periyava’s blessing. After this he trusted that if we surrender at Sri Periyava’s feet, anything is possible.

Babu who had such a trust did not know what was going to happen when the call came from Pradosham Mama at 3 am. It was raining heavily and there were no buses during that time to Katpadi. The next bus would only at 5 am. Babu left his worries with Sri Periyava and decided to take his scooter and go to Katpadi. The rain which was pouring heavily until then, started to slow down a little.

As Babu traveled 30 km to Katpadi, a thought that did not occur to him. Even though he got the name of the engineer and the details that he will leave early in the morning, Babu forgot to get the address of the engineer. Now he was wondering at 3 am, how he will be able to find the address. He somehow found the electricity board and enquired somebody who had been sleeping there. But he was unable to get the address of the engineer.

Babu prayed to Sri Periyava to help him. Then he started his scooter and started to roam around the streets. He saw a milk booth open and few people standing near it. Babu enquired the people waiting there. As he stood there with no response from anyone, like a miracle suddenly an old lady appeared there and said that she knew the engineer’s place and volunteered to show the house.

“We need to go a little far” the lady said to Babu. Babu took her in his scooter and followed her directions. As they went down multiple streets turning here and there, Babu realized that even if he had the address, he would have never reached the house. Babu realized that it was a miracle for an old lady to come during that early hours and directing him correctly to the engineer’s house.

Even to this day, Babu remembers the incident and enjoys the different ways Sri Periyava had blessed him. Also when he reached the house, the engineer was almost ready to leave. As Babu conveyed the message, the engineer informed him that there has already been an order to change it and he was going to Thiruvallur in regards to that.

It is clear from this incident and many others about how Sri Periyava make even the impossible tasks easy for everyone to do. It is true that if we surrender at the feet of Sri Periyava, we will be blessed with health, wealth, peace and happiness. Let us also have darshan and seek blessings from the current Guru of the Kanchi Srimatam.
