ஒரு நோக்கம் (purpose) இல்லாமல், வெறுமே மற்றவர்களுக்குப் போட்டியாக இவனும் பணத்தைத் தேடிப் பறந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறான் என்றால், அப்புறம் இவன் பிராம்மணன் என்று தனியாக இருக்க வேண்டிய அவசியம் கிடையாது. இப்படி ‘பர்பஸ்’ இல்லாமல் பிராம்மண ஜாதி இருந்தால், அதை மற்றவர்கள் அழிப்பதற்கு முன்னால் நானே அழித்துவிட வேண்டும் போலிருக்கிறது. பிரயோஜனம் (utility) இல்லாமல் ஒரு வஸ்துவும் இருப்பதற்கு உரிமையில்லை. லோகத்துக்குப் பயன் இல்லாவிடில் பிராம்மண ஜாதி வேண்டியதே இல்லைதான். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

Without any purpose if the Brahmins also compete with other communities in search of money, then there is no need for a separate community called Brahmins. If such a Brahmin community exists without any purpose, then before others destroy them, I feel that I myself should destroy that caste.

By Sri Periyava Anugraham we continue to support the needy Veda Patasalas with Samith for their Anushtanams, Oupasanam, and homams as well as groceries. As Sri Periyava says in the above quote using some strong words, if the purpose of Brahmin community is to keep making money and live like others then there is no point in calling us  Brahmins at all. Let’s continue to support as many needy Veda Patasalas and Vaideeka brahmins as much as we can.
