கோ ஸம்ரக்ஷணம் எத்தனை அவச்யம் என்று, awareness create செய்வது என்கிறார்களே, அப்படி வலுவான ப்ரசாரத்தால் ஜன ஸமூஹத்தில் ஒரு விழிப்புணர்ச்சியை ஏற்படுத்தி விட்டால் போதும், இத்தகைய பெரிய ஜனத்தொகையுள்ள நம் தேசத்தில் தேவையான பணமும் திரளும், தொண்டர்களும் திரளுவார்கள் என்றே நம்புகிறேன். அங்கங்கே நாலு பேர் விடா முயற்சியுடன் புறப்பட்டுவிட்டால் போதும். பொருள் பலம், ஆள் பலம் இரண்டும் கிடைத்துவிடும். இதில் ஒரு விஷயம் என்னவென்றால், பணம் கொடுக்கிறவர் வேறே, சரீரத் தொண்டு செய்கிறவர் வேறே என்று அடியோடு இரண்டாகப் பிரிந்து நிற்கக்கூடாது. பணம் கொடுக்கிறவரும் கொஞ்சமாவது உடம்பால் உழைக்க வேண்டும், உடம்பால் உழைக்கிறவரும் கொஞ்சமாவது பொருளுதவி பண்ண வேண்டும். அப்போதுதான் எல்லோருக்கும் total involvement -– பூர்ணமான ஈடுபாடு -– இருக்கும். அதோடு ஸமூஹத்திலும் மக்கள் பணம் படைத்தவர், உழைப்பாளி என்று இரண்டு ஜாதிகளாகப் பிரிந்து நிற்காமல், எல்லோரும் ஒரேபோல் கோமாதாவின் குழந்தைகளாக, ஒரே குடும்பமாக, ஐக்யப்படுவார்கள்.

என் ஆசை என்னவென்றால், ஹிந்துக்களான நாமெல்லோரும் இப்படி ஒரு குடும்பமாக கோசேவையில் சேர்வதோடு, மற்றவர்களுக்கும் நல்லபடியாக ப்ரேமையுடன் எடுத்துச் சொல்லிப் பிற மதஸ்தர்களையும் இதில் ஈடுபடுத்தி நம்முடைய ஒட்டுமொத்த ஜன ஸமூஹம் முழுதுமே ஏக குடும்பமாக ஒற்றுமையோடு இப்பணியில் ஈடுபடவேண்டும் என்பதே. மதாபிமானம் என்பது ஒவ்வொரு மதஸ்தருக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு விதமாக இருக்கலாமானாலும், ஜீவகாருண்யம் என்பது ஸகலருக்கும் பொதுவானதாகையால் அந்த அம்சத்தைக் கொண்டு இந்தப் பணியில் இந்த நாட்டிலுள்ள அத்தனை மதஸ்தர்களும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்து தோள் கொடுக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே என் அவா. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்தி சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

It is important we create ‘an awareness’ as they say, by a strong propanganda among the people about Gho Samrakshana. I strongly believe that in our country with such a huge population, definitely a large amount of funds can be pooled as well as a large number of volunteers will be gathered. It is just that initially at the least a few should start doing it with perseverance. Then both financial as well as physical support can be gained very easily. An important aspect to be paid attention here is that financial aid and physical help should not stand separately as two different things. A person who offers money should undertake to do atleast a little bit of work and a person who works a lot physically should contribute atleast a little amount of money. Only then will there be a ‘total involvement’ for everyone. Also the people in the society will not stand divided as two castes namely the affluent and the workforce but will get united as a single family, as the children of Gho Matha.

My desire is that apart from making it happen that we Hindus getting united as one family in this service to Gho Matha, we should also explain about it to others with love and patience and convince the other religious people also to take part  in it thereby involving the entire population in this service. Allegiance to one’s religion may be different for each person but compassion to other beings is common to all and hence considering this aspect, it’s my wish that people of all religions should unite and shoulder this responsibility and work towards it. – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara,

On this very auspicious 27th aradhana of Sri Maha Periyava I’m glad to let you know we have saved over 1008 Gho Mathas/Rishabams. What started as a very humble beginning couple of years back with one cow gathered tremendous steam and momentum with Periyava’s guiding force showing us a way in several intense rescue operations.

Never in my 17 years of US life I thought I will be involved in these many rescue efforts but the man upstairs always works wonders that one cannot even foresee and here we are. This of course would not have been possible without the support of you all. Thanks is too formal a word. My Sasthtanga Namaskarams to Periyava and all his bhakthas in making this happen. My kind request to you all is, contribute whatever you can consistently and spread the word around. This is the only way we can keep this initiative going.

The journey has just begun. As Periyava Sathasangam let’s work together towards the noble and common vision that Periyava desired for in Deivathin Kural (Please see the above quote). Pictures of a few cows rescued yesterday and today below. You can see a couple of cows standing together (first picture below) near a sewage sludge for several hours with owners didn’t bother to take care them but Periyava made sure HE did.
