பெரியவா சரணம்

ஒரு   சிவ பக்தர்.   நாள்   தவறாமல்   சிவ பூஜை    செய்பவர்.   வீட்டுக்   கொல்லையிலேயே    வில்வ மரம்.

பூச்சி   அரிக்காத   தளமாக   சேகரித்து வைத்துக்    கொண்டு   ஆனந்தமாகப்  பூஜை   செய்வார்.    அந்த  வில்வ மரம்   பட்டுப்   போய் விட்டது.

லட்சம்   ரூபாய்   இழந்த   சோகம்,  பக்தருக்கு.

வழக்கம்    போல்   பெரியவா   தரிசனத்திற்கு    வந்த  போது,   துக்கம்  தொண்டையை    அடைக்க,   வில்வ மரம் பட்டுப்   போன    செய்தியைச்   சொன்னார்.

பெரியவா   அவர்  சொன்னதைச்   செவியில்    போட்டுக்   கொண்டதாகவே தெரியவில்லை.   வேறு   யார் யாருடனோ   பேசிக்   கொண்டும்   ஆசிர்வதித்துக்    கொண்டும்   இருந்தார்.

பின்னர்,   பக்தரைப்    பார்த்து,  “இப்போ Water  pollution, Air  pollution ல்லாம்   சொல்றாளே,   உனக்குத்   தெரியுமா?” என்று   கேட்டார்.

“ஆமாம்…. குடிக்கத்   தண்ணீர்,   சுவாசிக்கும்   காற்று    முதலியவற்றில் மாசு   அதிகமாகிவிட்டதால்   உடம்புக்குக்  கெடுதல்   என்கிறார்கள்…..”

“நம்ம    சாஸ்திரங்களில்   கூட   pollution பற்றிச்   சொல்லிருக்கு. ”

பக்தருக்குப்   புரியவில்லை.   பெரியவா  தொடர்ந்தார். ” Air pollution ங்கறது,   மனுஷாளுக்கு   மட்டுமில்லே ;  மரங்களுக்கும்   உண்டு.   ஆசாரமில்லாமல்,   தீட்டுக்   காலத்திலே மரங்களுக்குப்   பக்கமாக    போனால்,  மரத்துக்குக்    கெடுதல்.    வில்வ மரம்  அதனால்  தான்   பட்டுப்   போயிருக்கு..”

பக்தர்   ஆவலுடன்   கேட்டுக்   கொண்டிருந்தார்.

“வில்வ   மரத்தின்   வேர்ப் பகுதியிலே   நிறையப்    பசுஞ்   சாணம்   போட்டு,   தினமும்   தீர்த்தம்   விடு.   அது  தான்  பிராயச்சித்தம்…. ”

சிவ பக்தர்   அவ்வாறே   சிரத்தையுடன் செய்தார்.    பதினைந்து   நாட்களில்,   துளிர்கள்    தெரியத்   தொடங்கின.

இரண்டு   மாதங்கள்   கழித்து   வந்த   பக்தர்,   அதே    வில்வ மரத்திலிருந்து   வில்வம்    பறித்து,  மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் பெரியவாளுக்கு    வில்வ மாலை    சமர்ப்பித்தார்.

இது    என்ன   சப்ஜெக்ட்?   பயாலஜியா, பாஷ்யாலஜியா?    பசுபதியே   அறிவார்..

Saastraas speak about pollution

There was devotee of Lord Siva who used to perform Siva Pooja daily at home. He grew Vilvam tree at the back of his house.

Every day he will collect perfect Vilvam leaves which have not been infected by insects and use those leaves to perform the pooja happily. But the tree became Snag in few days (Pattu ponadhu).

The devotee was sad as if he had lost lakhs of rupees.

When he went to have his usual dharshan of Maha Periyavaa, he sadly informed Periyavaa about this.

It appeared as if Periyavaa didn’t even hear what the devotee said and continued talking and blessing someone else.

Then Periyavaa looked at the devotee and asked “Nowadays they are talking about Water Pollution and Air pollution – Do you know about them?” “Yes – They say that if the drinking water and the air which we inhale gets polluted then it is dangerous to our health”. “Even our Saastraas speak about pollution”.

The devotee couldn’t understand what Periyavaa was saying. Periyavaa continued “Air pollution is not just for humans. It applies for trees also. Failing to follow orthodox methods and going near the tree during impure times is bad for the tree. That’s why the Vilvam tree has become snag (Pattu poi ituku)”

The devotee was listening with great interest. Periyavaa then said “Put lot of fresh cow dung in the roots of the Vilvam tree and water it. That’s the remedy for this”

The devotee did the same with utmost commitment. In 15 days, new leaves started appearing in the tree.

2 months later, the devotee came back to have a dharshan of Maha Periyavaa. He brought with him, a garland (Vilva maalai) made from the leaves of the same Vilvam tree and he offered it to Maha Periyavaa.
