Periyava Golden Quotes-25

Periyava_with_ganapathi

There lived a great Mahan called Sri Appaya Dikshithar. We are wearing Vibuthi, Rudraksha today because of his great efforts. He has written 104 books. He established ‘Sivothkarsham’ (Building Siva Bhakthi). He did not do this because of hatred towards Lord Vishnu. He hated people who in the name of Vishnu Bhakthi trashed Siva and his devotees (Siva Dwesham). He said he will not tolerate Siva Dwesham and established ‘Sivothkarsham’. – Sri Kanchi Maha Periyava

Koti-koti Namaskarams to such a great MAHAATHMAN!!!!!
In fact, the whole of SRISHTI cannot do without either MAHADEVAN-SHIVA or MAHAVISHNU.
Both are EQUALLY OMNISCIENT, EQUALLY OMNIPRESENT & EQUALLY OMNIPRESENT!!!!!

I have heard Sri Lankans calling VIBHOOTHI as THIRUNOOR.
In Urdu language Noor means Light.
I do wonder about the origin of this shabdam.
Do we have this word NOOR in Tamizh that means LIGHT?
Is there any relation between this word in these two languages?
Could any of the Tamizh scholars among readers enlighten me?
    Dhanyavadam and Namaskaram!

    • It is not Thirunoor. It is Thiruneeru … திருநீறு

      • Namaskaram Sri Ramesh and Dhanyvadam for giving the correct shabdam.
When we talk or listen to people at times we hear wrongly or due to improper diction and pronunciation we hear wrong.
        Thank you for the clarification.

PS-Neeru = water,so then why is VIBHOOTHI which is ASH powder being called Neeru?
        Could you/someone enlighten?
        Thanks again.

      • Ram Ram Smt. Vijaya,

There are two tamil words நீர், நீறு. These two have different meanings. See the last letter that is different. (ர், று)

One Neer is water, நீர். The one you have mentioned (Neeru, நீறு) is ash or remnant. Ram Ram

      • Rama,Rama,Rama Sri Sai Srinivasan Ji!
Am beholden to you for clarifying the two word endings ( within no time )that changes the meaning- नीर & तिरुनीरु ।
        धन्यवाद: एवम् नमस्कारम् ।
        जय श्री राम,राम,राम!!!!!

      • Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama!
Namaskaram Sri Sai Srinivasan Ji!Why I am interested in such stuff is because we in Bharat feel that our languages have nothing to do with western languages
This is why we see many of us not learning our own indigenous languages that are Bharatmatha’s invaluable and greatest treasures because they guard our Samskrithi. One small example – the word for number 1 in Tamizh is Onnu,in English it is One,in French it is Un and in Italian it is Uno.How are these so similar despite the great distance between continents.
There was no Aryan Invasion as we have been taught in History.
It was the other way round.
Arya – is Aiyar- quoted so often in Bhagavad Geeta -Hey Aryaputra!
I am certain despite not being a scholar ( I feel it in my genes = heredity = poorvajanma karmaphalam ) that Our languages Tamizh and Samskritham are the fountain heads of western culture and not vice versa. Our Bharatavarsham and Sanatana Dharma have given Light to the world. This Satyam every Bharatvaasi must know.
        Dhanyavadam and Namaskaram!

      • Ram Ram Smt. Vijaya – You are absolutely correct. Our Periyava talks about the significance of Samaskrutham and Tamizh in many places in Deivathin Kural. In fact Periyava delves into the etymology of many words and calls those out while covering many significant topics. Did you have chance to read Voice Of God, English Version of Deivathin Kural? Ram Ram

      • Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama!
        Namaskaram Sri Sai Srinivasan Ji!
        Dhanyavadam for your prompt response.
No,I have not had the opportunity to read Deivathin Kural .
I shall buy the English version as soon as I can to read this sacred text.
Is it available only in Chennai?
The nature of my work has brought me closer to our Samskrithi despite the great distance. I am grateful to Bhagavad ANUGRAHAM and EESVARA KRIPA .
The English word ‘wagon’ ,the Dutch word ‘wagen’ are pronounced exactly as ‘vahan’ and the meaning is exactly the same.
Atom,Atma,Ame in Latin all come from Samskritham ATMAN.
Must definitely read Deivathin Kural as you have suggested.
        Dhanyavadam!
        Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama,Rama!

      • Ram Ram Smt. Vijaya – I believe it is available in a few places including Kanchi Mahaswami Vidhya Mandhir School, East Tambaram, Chennai. You can have someone get it for you or buy when you visit here. This school also has beautiful museum of Maha Periyava with his Palki that HH used to travel in all Yathras, Padhuka, and all other used items along with Shiva Temple, Laksha Rudraksha Lingam, MS Amma Gallery, Vinayagar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple, Gosala, Veda Patasala, Adi Sankara, Dakshinamoorthy Sannidhi, etc. A part of this was published as a video in this forum around ten days back during last Pradosham. http://www.srikanchimahaswamividyamandir.org/

Here is also the link to Amazon where they sell Voice of God books online.

You can also join Deivathin Kural Sathsangs as there are many Sathsangs happening virtually in US (over the phone). Chapters of Deivathin Kural are read in those one hour sessions. Not sure if you can join from Liege, Belgium. If you can, let me know and I can give you the conference details. Ram Ram.

      • Ram Ram Smt. Vijaya – Thanks very much for those nice words though I do not deserve it even a bit. Trust me, once we start reading Deivathin Kural (Voice of God) it will help us look the world in a totally different perspective including dealing with challenging situations that we encounter in our lives. Periyava will give us all the courage and strength including great will power to deal with those situations. Hope Smt. Soumya and Shri. Aditya are doing good. Let’s talk about my clairvoyance at a more appropriate time, not in this forum 🙂
