  1. Thanks for this information.

  2. Dear All, this post on Thirupunavasal or Thirupunavayil made me write this.

Please read (a small book) “Rameswara Yathrai” by shri Bharanidharan.

As is usual , Thata Ummachi is behind the creation of this book,

One can realize the importance of the following kshetrams in the Ramanathapuram district

(This is the sequence in which one should have darshan while going for Rameswaram )

    1. Theerthandathanam, 2.Thitupunavasal, 3.Uppur Vinayakar, 4.Navabhashanam, 5.Rameswaram, 6. GandamanathaParvatham, 7.Kothandaramar Temple, 8.Dhanushkoti, 9.Ekantha Ramar koil, 10. kattu(m)Pillayar, 11.Thirupullani-AdijagannathaSwamy Temple, 12.Setukarai-JayaVeeraAnjeyanaswamy, 13.ThiruUttarakosamangai Natarajar

The book gives the details of the Ramayana connection for all these kshetrams.

With google maps and internet information, any body with a little interest , can make a good plan for Rameswara Yatrai, ( in the same sequence mentioned in the book). I traveled in this sequence in 2010.
