I was very fortunate and surprised to receive HH Mettur Swamigal suddenly one morning at about 8.00 AM at my door step.He stood at the doorstep only and declined to come in and wanted a place for him to stay. Then I arranged with Pashupati Development committee Dharmashala for a room to be given and fruits to be given. He had come all the way from Varanasi on foot. He just wanted direction to go to the Dharmashala, which was straight on the road we were living and so easy to direct him. He even refused my accompanying him upto dharmashala. It was sometimes around 2000-01. It was very disturbing that he declined to take anything to eat or drink after his strenuous walk, at our house. I was informed by Kanchi Mutt manager that Swamigal will be arriving. He tried to come even about two years earlier but on the way he became unwell and went back. But he was determined to visit and did visit, with the grace of Mahaperiyava. A great soul indeed!

I had the privilage to be a colleque when HH meetur swamigal was in Mettur and I have great respect and reverence towards HH. I was fortunate to meet him and offer my namaskarams when I happened to meet him at Kumbakonam this septemeber. I am unable to bear that his highness is no longer with us in the physical form. great mahesh! i was trying from yesterday to see these but only to day i could since it was not buffering. i dont know how you managed to collect these and i dont know how the person who has taken these photos could do it as HH Mettur used to shun and even if someone clicks or tries to record, he used to say please dont do it. some of these photos are the ones when he was explaining something to some people. whenever i used to go to him he always used to clear my doubts but there has been some occassions when he used to say that Nethi Nethi (Brihadaranyaka upanished) still lingers and we used to have long discussions sometimes lasting for an hour about this from shankara bhasya with which he was not able to agree but had to agree because it is Shankara and he used to say that none can clear the doubt on this other than Periava and when the doubt occurred Periava is not there physically to clear it. he also advocated to me during his last days to study saiva siddhantha as it is a treasure.

Very grateful for this beautiful display of the photographs of the Mahaan, HH Mettur SwamigaL. He had served Maha Periyava with great care and total surrender and has merged with Him. Two photos showed on transition point, His Eyes gazing at us and smiling. Great Blessing indeed to have His Dharshan at least in this manner. Jaya Jaya Shankara, Hara Shankara!

Some of the pictures reminds me of the video (Adhistana Prevasham) that we all want to forget.
