கோஹத்தி -– பசு வதை –- என்பது ஸ்வப்னத்திலும் நினைக்கக்கூடாத மஹா பாபம்; படு பாதகம் என்பது. வதை வரையில் போக வேண்டாம்; அதற்கு ஒரு சின்ன ஹிம்ஸை விளைவித்தால்கூடப் பாபமாகும். கோவை மாதா என்றே அல்லவா பார்த்தோம்? அதனால் கோஹத்தி என்பது ப்ராயச்சித்தமேயில்லாத மாத்ருஹத்திக்கு ஸமானமான மஹா பெரிய தோஷமாகும். அதை முக்யமாக எடுத்துச் சொல்வதற்காகத்தான் கோவைப் பற்றிப் பேச ஆரம்பித்ததே. கறக்கிற மட்டும் ஒட்டக் கறந்து குடித்துவிட்டு, அல்லது அந்தப் பாலை விற்றுப் பணம் பண்ணிவிட்டு, கறவை நின்று போன பிறகு கோவுக்குத் தீனி போட்டு ரக்ஷித்து என்ன ப்ரயோஜனம் என்கிற எண்ணத்தில் அதை இறைச்சிக் கூடத்துக்கும் கசாப்புக் கடைக்கும் அனுப்புவதென்பது நம்மைப் பெற்ற தாயார் வயஸாகி வேலை செய்ய முடியாமல் ஆனவுடன் அவளைக் கொலை செய்தால் எப்படியோ அப்படித்தான். கோ மாம்ஸம் தாய் மாம்ஸத்துக்கு ஸமானமே. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

“Ghohathi” – killing a cow – is a huge sin, something that should never be even dreamt of; it’s a heinous crime. Leave alone killing a cow, it is extremely sinful even to mete out a tiny trouble to it. Haven’t we discussed Gho being viewed as mother herself? Therefore ‘Ghohathi’ (cow-slaughtering) is an enormous sin, equivalent to Mathruhathi (killing one’s own mother) which is unpardonable by all means. It is to highlight this fact that the discussion about the cow began at the first place. To milk the cow as much and as long as possible or earn monetary benefits out of its milk and once the supply of milk stops, considering it redundant to feed it any longer and to sell it to butchers or sending it to slaughter houses, is just like murdering one’s mother when she gets old and becomes unable to work anymore. Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – There is a cow broker in a village near Tiruvallur. His business is to go to nearby hamlets, buy all the cows that are available, assemble them in his place and sell it with a margin to slaughterhouses. As I had mentioned in my previous posts beef sales skyrocket around Deepavali time. Sensing this as a money making opportunity, he bought 76 cows and was negotiating with the local slaughterhouses when I became aware of this through my contact. Unfortunately before I could get hold off him he had already sold 22 cows so we could not save them. By Periyava’s grace we could save the remaining 54. The gosala is around 10 kms from his place so we walked down all the 54 cows in batches. If you look at the pictures and videos closely you could see how skinny and famished these cows are due to lack of food and malnutrition. Five cows passed away after coming to the Gosala due to poor health caused due to lack of feeding. The other cows are recovering slowly by HH grace.
