It is normal human tendency to have darshan of Mahaperiyava, to try to converse with Him and be blessed by Him.
However, it is best to be in the vicinity of Mahaperiyava when He is in Kaashta Mounam (Observing silence akin to the state of a log of wood), for then the Power and Grace from Him is much more.
I went to have His Darshan along with my close friend. Turned out that Periyava was observing Mounam that day. Not the Kaashta mounam, but the regular one wherein He used to communicate using hand and facial gestures. Swamigal’s gestures were so graceful that it would put a dancer to shame!
All these years my friend was being constantly piqued by her sister in law (husband’s sister), and hence her mind was in an agitated state.
Just a few days prior to our Darshan, her sister in law and her husband had to relocate to England to pursue the latter’s career there.
When our turn came before Him, Swamigal, who was in Mounam, put His hand on His nose with a gesture of closing the nostrils and then made a ‘waving away’ sign with His hands.
What He had conveyed so beautifully was this:
“Has your sister in law gone away?”
In Tamil it meant “Has your நாத்தனார் Naathanar gone away?”
The reason for His closing the nostrils is நாத்தம் Naatham means ‘bad smell’, referring to her sister in law, and the waving the hands is ‘gone away’! :)))
Such was His sense of Humour, even in silence!
The others present there did not understand this, but like it always happens with Him, His message surely reaches the intended person!

விஜய் டிவியில் ஒளிபரப்பாகும் மகான்களும் அற்புதங்களும் நிகழ்ச்சியில் ஒரு காட்சியில் ஒருவர் இறந்துவடுவார், அவர் இறக்கும் தருவாயில் தனது மகனை அழைத்து நான் சிலரிடம் பணம் கடன் வாங்கி திருப்பி தரவில்லை, நான் இறந்தவுடன் அவர்களுக்கு சேர வேண்டிய பணத்தை திருப்பி குடுத்துவிடு என்று கூறிவிட்டு அவர் இறந்து விடுகிறார். அவர் மகனும் தந்தை சொன்ன வார்த்தையை சிறமேற்கொண்டு அவருக்கு ஈமககிரியை கூட செய்யாமல் அவர்களை சந்தித்து பணத்தை திருப்பி குடுக்க கிளம்பி வருகிறான். ஆனால் ஒருவரும் அந்த பணத்தை வாங்க வில்லை, அதனால் மறுநாள் நேராக காஞ்சி மடத்துக்கு சென்று பெரிவாளை சந்தித்து அப்பணத்தை என்ன செய்வது என்று கேட்பதாக ஓர் காட்சி, நான் படித்வரையில் பெரியவாவை பார்க்க வருபவர்களுக்கு இம்மாதிரி அசம்பாவிதம் ஏதாவது ஏற்பட்டால் அவரை யார்மூலமாகவோ தகவலைக்கூறி அப்படியே திருப்பி அனுப்பி விடுவார். இதைப்பற்றி நான் நண்பர் பிச்சை அய்யர் சுவாமிநாதன் அவர்களிடம் கலந்து ஆலோசித்துவிட்டு இதை எழுதுகிறேன். அவரும் இது சுத்த அபத்தமாக இருக்கிறது, இந்த சீரியல் எடுப்பவர்கள் தெரிந்தவர்களை கலந்து ஆலோசித்துவிட்டு எடுக்கலாமே என்று அபிப்பிராய பட்டார். சம்பநதபட்டவர்கள் உடணே கவனிப்பார்களா?
I remember my first visit to Shri Mahaperiyava with my 2nd sister & family on a day in which He was in kaashta mounam (on Moolam nakshatram day, which is the star of Shri Saraswathi Devi) he used to observe this. He was wearing a big kumkumam like an elderly lady. I was bit upset because no sign of talk or aashirwadam from him. He knew everything . Isn’t it ? He gave aasirwadam with his holy feet , bending the fingers and I was dancing in ecstasy.

I have read about this particular incidence. When the son meets the father’s creditors’ heirs to hand over the money, they refuse to accept saying they have no such information from their respective fathers. It is then the son approaches the Periyava, who advises him to put the money in a temple undiyal.
Let’s assume that the son has completed the karmas and then only approaches the Periyava for his advice.
