After Deepavali Amavasai Rescue – 10 Umblacherry Cows Saved along with 2 More Calves

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – Couple of months back I had mentioned about a massive rescue effort of Tanjore native breed Umblacherry cows near Thiruvarur town HERE.

25 cows were saved in that rescue and 12 more could not be as the cows got scared and ran away. Slowly they were all rescued after Deepavali. I took a small 30-sec video clip right after they were rescued and here it is below. There are 12 cows, 10 of them are native umblacherry cows (greyish black complexion), 2 were cross breed calves (light brown complexion). These two male calves were boarded on the abattoir truck and by Periyava’s grace we had little bit space in our truck to accommodate couple more cows of small size so rescued them as well. These calves are so lovable and very sweet. Innocently they come to you and rub their forehead in our knees. Couple of Umblacherry cows are really old, they have lost all their teeth, could not bite the food but slowly chew their food. By Periyava Anugraham rescued these rare native breed cows. More rescues and more importantly how our rescued cows are doing to follow in the coming posts…Stay tuned.

Many thanks to Shri. Balaji Venkataraman for his magnanimous contribution through we could save these precious souls.  Sri Periyava Thiruvadi Sharanam. Rama Rama
