Arun, Chicagoland boy was one of the artists who gave vocal performance in our Chicago Maharudram event last weekend. Arun is not new to this blog – check this link. He is greatly blessed by Mahaperiyava with multifold talents – music, art etc. He has been giving music programs regularly in Chicagoland and even in India. His entire family is devoted to Kanchi Acharyas.
In that event, he did a fantastic job – great voice, perfect pronunciation. Thank you Arun – loved your songs….Keep singing on Periyava! Periyava satsang coordinators in US should leverage this great singer for their Periyava programs.
During the program, he announced each song, raga etc. For couple of songs, he said that he composed it himself. I wasn’t sure about what exactly he meant.. Later I asked his parents on what he meant by he composed and is it something they helped with Tamil etc. To my surprise, they said that he actually composed songs in Tamil by himself – with no help. They said that he learnt Tamil in the proper way – he can read, write etc. I was shocked!!!! For kids who are born and brought up here, speaking Tamil itself is a distant dream and for what he is doing is beyond my comprehension. All credit goes to his guru, his parents for motivating him and shaping him to be fine young man.
I was talking to his mother and she was telling me that Arun wants to do a full-blown kutcheri on Mahaperiyava in Chicago. We hope to get this arranged soon!
Hats off to him and his parents for bringing up such a wonderful boy….We wish him all the bests….
Arun – Thank you very much for a wonderful program….
