Arun Kousik is our Chicagoland boy, my friend’s son, born and brought up in Chicago – yet, fully soaked in our culture, extremely well brought-up (he often is quoted when I correct my kids!!) an accomplished Carnatic vocalist, learnt this Thanjavur art from his thatha, if I remember right…We used to gather at his place for vedam class on Thursdays…I’ve seen the house filled with his art works for all gods – quite amazing..Now he finished our Periyava and made Him glitter in gold. The painting came out very well – obviously with His blessings….

Excellent painting by Arun. One samll suggestion for future paintings. Instead of writing gurubyo namha in English you can write it in Sanskrit. Periyava will feel much more happier.
