This is the last posting from my recent India trip.

After 3-4 years of interacting over Facebook, emails, WhatsApp, I had a great opportunity/blessings to meet Smt Saraswathi Mami in-person. She had invited me for a wonderful flavorful lunch made and served with pure love of a mother. Only those who know Mami would know how much of Ambal’s and Mahaperiyava’s are pratyaksham in the house….So many incidents/blesssings/darshanams of Mahaperiyava to so many devotees from that house. I was blessed to be there..As many of you are aware, Mami is a Devi upasaki for generations….She has been helping so many people with giving few slokams to chant to get over some troubles etc. Mami & I went to Kanchipuram together for Sani Pradosham, attended abishekam at Orikkai and went to Sri Matam for Periyava darshanam…Amazing to hear so much from her and so much to learn from her experience…

Mami, at her age, is still involving herself in active Periyava kainkaryams…I have this blog and she doesn’t have a blog – thats the only difference –  but she is doing more kainkaryams with whatsapp/Facebook and a large sets of friends. One of those things is revival of nitya veda parayanam @Echangudi with Sri Ambi.

I met Sri Ambi few years back when I went to Echangudi… Ambi has given up all other commitments and dedicated his life for Periyava kainkaryam and lives in Echangudi…..If you all remember, Mahaperiyava wanted to have veda gosham in the gruham where His poorvashrama parents lived. (Click here to read on this) However, that did not materialize for various reasons, if I am not mistaken. This has been bothering Ambi for a long time and he discussed this with Mami and together they have reached out to lot of their friends and with their help they were able to get yajur veda parayanam daily there!!! With the response they have been getting, they have also arranged for rig/sama veda parayanam also….I am sure Periyava will be extremely happy to see/hear 2 veda parayanam going on at this holy place. I asked Ambi if I can contribute to this and he said that they are booked for next few months!!!! It is quite a satisfying reply that veda gosham will not stop there at all…

Sri Ambi has also been very closely working with Sri Ravi (Atirudram) and now he is Rameswaram….During my visit, I did not have time to go to Echangudi. Since I was rushing to go go Tirumeyachur, Ambi came to meet me on my en route. He was very kind. I hopped down from the car, spent few minutes and he handed over lots of lotus flower for Mahaperiyava at Tiruvengadu along with some nongu for me to much during my travel – so kind of him…Unfortunately, the place we chose was a busy road and couldn’t park the car. In the hurry to meet him, I forgot a selfie with him 🙂 Next time, I will share his photo…Great person to know – selflessly working for Periyava.
