It is a matter of mockery and fraud if one performs social service after burdening somebody with one’s own responsibilities. It is nothing but hypocrisy if a person seeks to help the world around him without fulfilling his responsibilities towards his own immediate family – his parents, siblings, wife, and children. If a person gets irritated and angry when this lapse is pointed out to him it means that his bout of social service has not really ripened him spiritually. The true nature of a philanthropist is that he is kind and affectionate towards everybody. He is not going to earn any goodwill if he is going to perform social service while there is love lost between him and his family.
