SPK #91 – Save 5 Native Breed Rishabams – Time Sensitive by 26 May, 2026 – Bakrid Rescue

Namaskaram All,

It is the time of the year where millions of voiceless are butchered in the name of sacrifice. According to my knowledge, irrespective of any religion, sacrifice is something you give up that is near and dear to us or one of the worldly desires and not buy some innocent soul and slaughter them to please god. Totally beats me!!

Bakrid is on Thu. May 28, 2026 and one of my contacts alerted me there are a few pure native breed Jallikattu rishabams (bulls) that are tied in an open ground under blazing sun waiting for sacrifice in Coimbatore.

There are two parts to this, one is rescue and then another is upkeep. Thankfully Dhyan Gausala, Coimbatore has come forward to protect these voiceless till their lifespan, so we now have to focus on the rescue. As you in the pics below, these are pure native breed Jallikattu bulls and they cost around Rs. 90k each because of their sheer size and weight (5 * 90k = Rs 4.5L) . All the talks of protecting our tradition and culture sounds very hollow when we let all these native breed cows go for slaughter right in front of our eyes and push them to the brink of extinction. We also don’t have much say in bargaining as there is quite a bit of demand for them during this time.

I request you all to chip in a little bit and also forward this message to your nexus. Small drops make a mighty ocean and I really pray to Sri Periyava we can save these five rishabams quickly. As mentioned above, once rescued you can visit Dhyan Gausala in the above address and see the rescued cows. I will also post updates on the rescue efforts in our group after finalizing the deal with Mohammed.
