We have 4 subsects in Brahmin lineage namely-Brahacharanam, Vadamal, Vathimal and Ashtasahasram. It has been a tradition for several decades that each of these sects join hands and offer bikshavandanam to our acharyas – this has been going on for a very long time. I belong to ashtasahasram – about 7-8 years back there was a group formed to resume bikshavandanam.
Similarly, PujyaShri Vijayendra Periyava has ordained Shri Sivakumar of California to collect information about Brahacharnam sub-sect brahmanas , so that they are included into Brahacharana Bhiksha Vandanam. The intention of PujyaShri Periyava is to be more inclusive and get in contact with more Brahacharnam from a Srimatam Perspective. Please find attached shrimukham that specifies the name and full details of this effort.

“பிக்ஷாவந்தனம்” என்று மடத்திற்குச் சென்று நமது குரு தக்ஷிணை ஆக நம்மால் இயன்றதை தனிப் பட்ட முறையில் செய்து வருகிறோம்.
இத்தகைய சமஷ்டி பிக்ஷாவந்தனங்களால் பிரிந்து போன மறந்து போன சொந்தங்கள் புதுப்பிக்கப்படுகின்றன. புது உறவுகள் மலர்கின்றன. பெரியவாளிடம் சென்று கூட்டமாக நமஸ்காரம் செய்யும் பொழுது நம்மைப்பற்றி நாம் மறந்த பலவித செய்திகளை பெரியவாளிடம் இருந்து தெரிந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். தற்போது ஒருசிலர் சேர்ந்து ஸ்ரீமடத்தில் பிரஹசரணம் பிக்ஷாவந்தனம் செய்தாலும், அதிக அளவில் உறுப்பினர்களைச் சேர்த்து, பெரிய அளவில் பிரஹசரணம் பிக்ஷாவந்தனம் செய்து ஸ்ரீமடம் சேவையில் பங்கு கொள்ளவெண்டும் என ஆச்சார்யாள் அபிப்ராயப்படுகிறார்கள்.
ஸ்ரீமடம், ஹாண்ட்லூம் சிவசுப்ரமணியன் ( த/பெ. தர்மராஜ அய்யர் ) மற்றும் கும்பகோணம் சிவசுப்ரமணியன் ( த/பெ. வெங்கட்ராமன் ) ஆகியோருடன் தொடர்பு வைத்துக்கொண்டு, இதன் தொடக்க வேலைகளை ஆக்கபூரவமாக மேற்கொள்ள அமெரிக்கவாழ் கும்பகோணம் சிவகுமர் (த/பெ. வி. காமேஸ்வரன்) ஆகியோருக்கு ஸ்ரீ சரணார் உத்திரவு ஆகியுள்ளதை தெரிவிக்கலான காரியம்.

Custom is variable.
What is the tangible benefit achieved by
Regionwise ( Tanjore / Tirunelveli)
Subsectwise ( vadama, brhatcharanam etc)
Language wise ( telugu kannada tamil etc)
Gotrawise bhikshavandanam ( bharadwaj gotra bhikshavandanam!!)
Why not to unify under one roof /nomenclature?
Can someone elucidate on this !
