I am pleased to share that a Mahaperiyava murthi has been installed and pranapratishta was completed few days back in Ganesha Gayathri Temple (GG Temple) in Chicago.
As I posted sometime back, GG Temple is not a new temple – rather an old temple moved to a new location with change in the trustees. GG Temple is only oldest temple that reflects almost a replica of Kanchipuram in North America with Kamakshi ambal sametha Ekambareswarar with a separate sannidhi for Adi Acharya with 4 sishyas.
We have been doing anushams in the temple for the past several months with a Periyava murthi from a devotees’ house. Finally the temple is now blessed with nearly a 2 feet Mahaperiyava murthi and pranaparatishta was completed last week.
To me, there is no Kanchipuram without Periyava – with this I personally feel that the temple is complete. I foresee the guru sannidhi getting expanded in the future as it is little cramped now.
