Re-organizing the homepage

Namaskarams to all,

Hope you all are doing well. I have been out of action for most part in the blog due to various commitments. I still manage to post few good articles and rare photos of Mahaperiyava once in a while. Sri Srinivasan, Sri Sai , Smt Archana, Sri Raghavan and few others are posting regularly on few topics that are very useful for all.

Over a period of more than 10 years, the blog has accumulated 1000s of posts and I have been wanting to cleanup few things. As the first thing starting today, I have requested Sri Raghavan and Sri Srinivasan to post their articles and tag them under the category “bookshelf” – they mostly are about ambal mahimai or about a scripture etc. Likewise, Sai & I will be posting many appeals and they will be under “Appeals” category. Whenever they post you will get email notification as always – however those posts WILL NOT be part of the home/landing page. Instead they will categorized under “Appeals” or “Bookshelf” etc under the menu. I am trying to keep articles about Periyava on the main page – be it announcement, photos/videos, upadesams – rest will be under different menu options. As you can see all those articles have already been moved to respective menu options already.

Likewise, I need to control the media additions to the blog as very soon I will run out of space ๐Ÿ™‚ Will do that as a next step.

I am also trying few new themes for the page where one can have distraction-free reading. Let me try this theme for some more time and see if you all like it.

Thanks for your patience

Mahesh

  1. Please put the appeals back on main menu. It will have a better reach. If you put that in a separate menu, less folks will open it.

  2. Heartfelt thanks for all the good work that you and your team are doing. Its a divine task that you are doing with so much dedication. Personally, it is this blog which is feeding me the nectar of Periyava karunai every day. Most of the books that I have got on Periyava / various channels of info were known through this blog only. My humble pranams.

  4. Dear Sri Mahesh,
Thanks for hosting and maintaining this precious resoruceful site..
Would it be possible to have the whole.article made readable from the emails that we subscribe to. Humble request

Currently for the full article I’ll need to navigate to webpage to do so.

    1. Unfortunately that is a wordpress functionality. The idea why they dont do that is to encourage readers to come to the site ๐Ÿ™‚
