Our dearest artist Umesh is no more!

It is quite a shocking call I received from Smt Saraswathi Thiyagarajan mami few mts back. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing – mami broke down and was shattered to even tell me this news. Sri B Narayanan mama also called me for the same. I am tired of writing “god is cruel” when it comes to events like these. Can’t accept karma theory now – I am in shock and feeling very sad and mad. Umesh is such a lovely person – very soft-spoken with a nice family background – supported by his wife and two children. Apparently, Umesh had not been keeping well for the past few months – I dont know the details. We pray Mahaperiyava to give enough strength and support to the grieving family members.

Umesh’s devotion for Mahaperiyava, Sri Sivan Sar and Kanchi acharyas is very pure. He was introduced to me by his cousin brother Ravi Gurunathan from Trichy. That’s how he was introduced to this community. Rest is history.

We all pray Mahaperiyava and Sar to bless the departed soul.

Of all the paintings, this one is my favorite!

Umesh – we all love you and going to miss you very dearly. You will be always in our hearts!

  1. I am still coming to terms with this loss. I lost my dear friend and elder brother figure, Umesh Anna, whom I affectionately called “Anna.” For over four years in Hyderabad, I used to give him bike rides to work. From the very first day he arrived in the city, we got to know each other personally, and we built a strong relationship that felt like family.

On Anusham’s day, he left this earthly body.

My thoughts and prayers are with Anna’s family. Umesh Anna, I will miss you dearly.

    Jaya Jaya Sankara !
    Hara Hara Sankara !

  3. Our sincere prayers for Sri Umesh’s soul to rest in peace with Sri Maha Periyava lotus feets. Hara Hara Sankara, Jaya Jaya Sankara…

  4. I feel shattered by this news. He was such a close friend of mine. When I worked i Hyderabad in the year 2017/18, I had gone to his house many times and had lunch with him. He had such a beautiful family. He was devoted to MahaPeriayava. We both did a lot of paintings of MahaPeriyava and his paintings are so natural and amazing. I will really miss him. I am slowly losing my faith in God who seems to be a mute witness to such cruel deaths. As Mahesh had put it, I also lost faith in Karma. Really really sad. It is said that when one door closes, another opens. I hope it does, soon.

    1. I was deeply mourning the sudden and untimly demise of Umesh ji who is such a talented artist and ardent deveotee of Maha Periva.

Death is the one that made other people to talk against God, who are beloved with the departed person. Does God has no other job? Why blame God and get some Dosha? Death is irreversible and every one must stop one’s worldly journey by this. God is not cruel nor HE does it to any purposefully! Umeshji’s job in this world is done and reached Maha Periva’s feet. Let’s not blame the God for anybody’s death anymore!

      Periva Sharnam!

  5. Just couldn’t believe my eyes, when I read the caption. Eventhough we all knew the “karma theory”, this is unacceptable. We all pray to Maha Periyava for that Noble Soul to attain Sathgadi.
    Jaya Jaya Sankara!
    Hara Hara Sankara!
