Vedas are the backbone of Universal welfare. Yagnyam is the backbone of that Vedas. What serves as its backbone in turn is the Kartha who performs the Yagnyam and the cow which gives the primary products offered in the Yagnyam. Therefore it becomes apparent that the cow has come to be one among the two which serve as the backbone for the world to exist and function well. That’s why it is considered that “Gho Rakshanam is Bhoo rakshanam” (preserving the cow is preserving the world). In Tamizh the saying goes thus: “Pasu Kaaththale paarinai kaththal”. It is for this reason that while praying for universal welfare it is customary to mention specifically, the cow first and then the performer and only then to pray for the entire world. – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara,
Devotees who have been following up my cow rescue posts will surely recall Shri Sethu Narayanan who accommodated several of our rescued cows over the last few years. His Gosala is in a place called Marungapallam, a small village located 70 kms from Tanjore (derived from Marunthuppallam Oushadhapuriswar (Lord Shiva) built by Rajaraja Chozha and further built upon by Sharaboji Maharaja). His wife Smt. Uma Sethu is Periyava’s Anukkath Thondar, Srikantan Mama’s sister’s daughter. He currently has around 130 cows in his Gosala.
I have been to his home and Gosala and was amazed to see the way cows have been maintained. Since it is a small remote village, there is zero pollution and one almost feels like they are in a Gosala of 1940’s. Such a green and serene atmosphere with pin drop silence and zero traffic. Indeed a haven for all the cows.
Over the last few years, he has been managing the Gosala with his own funds even during the challenging Pandamic situation. Few years back we helped him out by setting up motor pumps (the old one broke down) to help the water crisis that hit the Gosala. Recently he lost his job and found a new one. He also started facing a lot of issues on the labour and fodder front. Undaunted he started producing organic products to support his goshala. However, the small hamlet that the Gosala is currently in there is very little market, which means he lost quite a lot of money in investing on these products with little takers. This resulted him taking loans for purchasing cow fodder and now he is finding hard to pay them back. He reached out to me to see if I post his situation in the blog so the products get more visibility and people can come forward and buy them.
He does not want donations but wants a sustainable long term plan by finding takers for his organic products. He is ok to courier all these products where ever we want to. Can we all buy the products from him and also spread the word around as much we can? If we do this, it will help a great deal in sustaining this Gosala which otherwise is at a great risk of being dissolved. Let’s not make that happen and help him in whatever way possible. Below is products catalog and his e-mail. Please help. Rama Rama
