முன்காலங்களில் ‘பசு மடம்’ என்று வைத்து நம் க்ராமமெல்லாம் போஷிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த தர்மத்தில் பிற்பாடு நாம் ச்ரத்தை இழந்துவிட்டோம். ஆனால் பிஞ்சரபோல், கோசாலா என்று வைத்து இந்த வடக்கத்திக்காரர்கள் எத்தனை வாத்ஸல்யத்தோடு பக்தியோடு பசுக்களைப் பராமரிக்கிறார்கள்?

கோவதை கூடாது என்று சட்டம் பண்ணிவிடலாம். ஆனால் கறவைக்கும் உழவுக்கும் ப்ரயோஜனமி்ல்லாத மாடுகளைப் பராமரிக்க மக்களான நாம் தக்க ஏற்பாடு பண்ணாவிட்டால் அவை வயிறு காய்ந்து குற்றுயிரும் குலை உயிருமாகக் கஷ்டப்பட வேண்டித்தான் வரும். கோ-ரக்ஷணம் என்பது ஜீவகாருண்யத்துக்கு ஜீவகாருண்யம்; அதுவே ஒரு பெரிய லக்ஷ்மி பூஜையும் ஆகும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

In earlier days all our Villages had ‘Pasu Matams’ (cow shelters) for preserving the cows – a Dharma in which we have lost interest in later years. But see how affectionately and devotedly do these North Indians nurture the cows by establishing Ghoshalas ans Pinjarapols!

A law can easily be enforced against cow slaughter. But if we don’t make proper arrangements to look after the cows which are no longer useful for milking and farming, then they would be made to suffer out of starving and being malnourished. Ghorakshanam on one side is a great act of compassion; while on the other hand that in itself is a big Lakshmi Puja.  – Jagadguru Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – By Sri Periyava Anugraham and all of your support we managed to rescue 44 cows/calves last month. The rescue number has come down drastically due to a couple of reasons. One being, some of the regular donors who were supporting could not continue and secondly with a Gosala to manage around 150 rescued cows it is challenging to sustain that as well.

All I can request our blog followers to support consistently and also tell your family and friends so this great dharma can continue without any hiccups in the months to come.
