நமக்குத் தீங்கு செய்கிற பிராணிகளுக்குக்கூட நாம் பதிலுக்கு தீங்கு செய்யக்கூடாது. இங்கேயோ தீங்கு செய்பவற்றோடு ஒரு தீங்கும் இழைக்காத பிராணிகளையும் நாம் இத்தனை ஹிம்ஸைக்கு ஆளாக்க நேருகிறது. யோசித்துப் பார்த்தால் இத்தனை ஜீவராசிகளுக்கு இத்தனை உபத்திரவத்தை உண்டாக்கிக் கொண்டு வயிற்றை வளர்க்கிறோமே என்று துக்கம் உண்டாகிறது. ஆனால் இதெல்லாம் நம்மால் தவிர்க்க முடியாத விஷயங்கள். நாம் வேண்டுமென்று இவற்றைக் கொல்லவில்லை. எனவே நம்மை மீறிச் செய்கிற இந்தத் தோஷங்களுக்குப் பிராயச்சித்தம் உண்டு. அப்படிச் செய்கிற பிராயச்சித்தமே ‘வைசுவதேவம்’ என்பது. –  ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

One should never hurt even those beings that harm him. But here, we torture living things that do not bring us any harm. We nourish ourselves by torturing so many lives. Please see a few video clips below on the pitiable condition of many jeevarasis living around us. While it is distressing to see it is also a great opportunity that Periyava has given us to help these innocent voiceless. We just need to allocate a few minutes daily to serve these starving creatures around us.
