இராமாயண அணில் நமக்கெல்லாம் முன்னுதாரணம். அத்தனாம் பெரிய ஸேது பந்தத்தில், ‘நாம் அல்ப ஜந்து, என்ன பெரிய ஸஹாயம் பண்ணமுடியும்?’ என்று அது நினைத்ததா? அது பண்ணின ஸேவை ராமருக்கு என்ன உபகாரம் பண்ணிற்றோ பண்ணவில்லையோ, அதற்கே பெரிய உபகாரம் பண்ணி விட்டது – ஸ்ரீராமனின் கருணையை, கர ஸ்பரிசத்தை ஸம்பாதித்துத் தந்துவிட்டது. இப்படி ‘நாம் என்ன பண்ணி கிழிக்கப் போகிறோம்?’ என்று ஒதுங்கியில்லாமல், நம்மாலான தொண்டு செய்தால், மற்றவருக்கு நம்மால் நல்லது நடந்தாலும் நடக்காவிட்டாலும் நமக்கு ஈஸ்வரப் பிரஸாதம் கிடைத்து சித்த சுத்தி லபித்துவிடும். – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

The squirrel which appears in Ramayana is a great inspiration to all of us. It never thought what role a little creature like it could play in the mammoth task of building a bridge across the sea. Without hesitation, it went ahead and performed whatever service was possible by it’s small self. This small action might not have benefited Sri Rama but it definitely benefited the squirrel. The squirrel was blessed by Sri Rama and received the divine touch of Bhagawan. So we should not underestimate any contribution which could be made by us, but perform whatever service is possible by us. This will definitely shower on us the blessings of Eshwara and purify our hearts, even if it does not benefit the others. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal
