  5. Thank you for sharing this very absorbing interview/interaction of Dr Prof V Kamakoti, now Director at IIT M, in this forum; I found it very inspirational and motivating. Mahaperiyava’s Karunai is omnipresent; may this illustrious son of a great Sanskrit scholar and devotee of the Acharyal be blessed to achieve even more for the good of society, the country and for science! Hara Hara Sankara, Jaya Jaya Sankara

  6. I have visited the famed IIT-Madras campus many times as a repoter to cover news worthy events there. Most of the time, the faculty care two hoots about journalists. They are living in their own dream world. I don’t know about Prof Kamakoti, but do we really need IITs in this country. We have not seen any great scientists or technocrats. APJ Abdul Kalam, Sir C V Raman and Dr Radhakrishnan and other great achievers have done it without studying in IITs. Anyway this is my personal opinion. Entreprenuership comes mostly from rural India, not from elite institutes like IIT and IIMs. Jaya Jaya Sankara, Hara Hara Sankara, Kanchi Sankara, Kamakoti Sankara. Periyavah Saranam.

  7. Amazing interview by Dr. Kamakoti, very inspiring. Paripoorna Periyava anugraham!!

  8. With the grace of acharya and his blessings, wish and pray he is allowed to perform his duties without any pressure or interruption from political persons. Known of his background there will be hate-mongers trying to dent his image. Pray god he continues to do his best and give his best to IIT and for future nexgen students.

  10. The first job of a human being – more so who has been given custody of physical, intellectual, financial, emotional, technical, cognitive, intuitive and other strengtrhs by mother NATURE is to use the same to generate more returns from what all others have invested in us. This is the ROI, the nature expects from all those to whom its gives various strengths in their custody. An avergae IIT student is subsidised by a tax payer by more than a crore of rupees. Because on an average every IIT costs tsax payers at least 1000 crores subsidy each year. And the nations certainly has a right to expect a ROI on that. Hitherto, for past 6 decades , i have seen a very few individuals accepting that intellectual responsibility and working hard to return value in excess of what others invest in them. Two evidences support this: (1) Number of patents / inventions / innovations/ improvisation of goods / servces that uplift living orbit of fellow indians by a few notches is disproportionately miniscule. (2) Most of thse who are gifted by the mother nature, run away from India, not even paying taxes in India. THis shows their self-entitlement mentality. Being a devotee of PARAMACHARYA , i sinerely hope this person Dr.Kamakoti works towards changing the 6+ decades of history , make all IITians own up inbtellectual resposnibility to deliver ROI to those who supported them and the IITM itself starts delivering the ROIand stop accepting more tax payers blood as subsidy. I understand when evwery body is worshipping achievers and praising them, my note is jarring. But one day or other, we humans HAVE TO ACCEPT the truth – that we need to return to society for all that we received.
