Wrap up 2021 – 3 cows directly rescued from Slaughterhouse

Ultimately, the task which ought to be done collectively by the entire society of people is to make it happen that not a single cow goes the slaughter house and will be fed to the full stomach and be made to live in clean sheds under hygienic conditions. Whatever be the situation, not a single cow should be left to be sent to the slaughter house just because it involves paying a higher price. If such a thought as “buying the cows, setting up shelters and feeding them – all these are extremely expensive and moreover maintaining the old cows are strenuous and painstaking” crops up, the answer should be that considering the importance of this duty, both money and physical strain are trivial and unimportant. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathy Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara,

After last night’s rescue in my area (which I will post in my monthly updates) I thought we were done with cow rescues for 2021. However, our Periyava thought we are not done yet.

Today evening, with heavy rain pouring down I went out on an errand and took a different route than normal due to a detour. Saw a slaughterhouse with three cows tied  near a gutter with no food completely drenched in rain. One of the cows was just being untied by the slaughterhouse fellow and being taken inside which caught the corner of my eye while driving. Parked the car by roadside, went to the slaughterhouse, did some tough negotiations and rescued the cows. The slaughter house people said they were planning to kill them at midnight since there will be heavy demand for beef as it is 2022 eve and weekend as well.

One of the cows was so scared that she rushed towards our rescue truck after being untied and lied down in our truck after rescue totally petrified. I chanted Rama Nama and caressed her neck to calm her down. More than my ramblings, please watch the below video clips (especially the last one) so you can see the fear in her eyes. Those fearful eyes pretty much symbolizes the fearful state of Gho Mathas in our country.  It is very unfortunate that Bharatha Desam, the epitome of Dharma in this deplorable state. Let’s pray to Periyava for establishing Rama Rajyam soon in this country.

Sri Periyava Thiruvadi Sharanam,
