When one acquires the perspective of an Advaiti, then all distinction between the others and the Self disappears. He views everything as an embodiment of Bhagawan, does blissful service to the needy people suffering in many ways becomes second nature to him. In such a case, the word Paropakaram becomes inappropriate. After all there is nothing “para” or alien to him. Immersed in this state of mind, Saint Appar declared that it was his bounden duty to serve this world. Our life’s aim should only be Service and nothing else. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – We can look at these calamities in few perspectives. While we can finger point and blame the system or govt. it is also a great opportunity bestowed by Bhagawan on us to see how we as individuals respond in these kind of situations. There is no greater sense of gratitude I can feel than navigating through knee deep water for a mile and helping out the poor, old, and needy who are struck in their homes without food, milk and other essentials. These poor people also did not have electricity for the past four days. By Periyava Anugraham and all of your help and support we are able to satisfy the hunger of so many old, poor people and the voiceless. It took us several hours to navigate through the water and provide the supplies to the needy. As Sri Periyava emphasizes in the above quote our goal should be ‘Always to Serve Others’ especially when they are in distress.
Contribution details are HERE. In the note please mention ‘Flood Relief/Annadhanam’.

i remember reading somewhere Periyava said – if you are rich give more and do something, if you are poor do more and give something.
On the one hand it is sad to see people suffer but hardships has existed ever since so we are not going to cure it.
On the other hand you have to be blessed even to be given opportunity to help. Something similar to
