வேத ரக்ஷணத்தை அடுத்த சந்ததிக்கு ஜீவிய கர்மமாக, ஆயுட்காலப் பணியாக வைக்க முடியாவிட்டால் கூடப்போகிறது. எட்டு வயசிலிருந்து ஆரம்பித்து அப்புறம் பத்து வருஷங்களுக்கு தினம் ஒரு மணி இளம்பிள்ளைகளுக்கு வேத மந்திரங்களிலும் பிரயோகங்களிலும் வகுப்பு நடத்தப் பேட்டைக்கு பேட்டை கூட்டுறவு அடிப்படையில் ஏற்பாடு பண்ணுங்கள் என்கிறேன். இதுதான் எனக்கு வாஸ்தவமான கனகாபிஷேகம், உத்ஸவம் எல்லாம். அநாதியான வேத தத்துவம் அதன் மூல ரூபத்திலேயே என்றென்றும் பிரகாசித்துக் கொண்டிருக்க வேண்டும். இந்த ஜோதியை, தீவர்த்தியை, தூக்கிப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிற மசால்ஜி (சேவகன்) யாகப் பிராம்மணன் இருக்க வேண்டும். இப்போதுள்ள சமஸ்தப் பிரஜைகளுக்கும் எதிர்கால வாரிசுகளுக்கும் (posterity) இவன் செய்தே தீரவேண்டிய கடமை இது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்
Even if Veda Rakshana cannot be assigned as livelihood for the next generation, in every neighborhood, arrange for classes daily for an hour on Veda and its practices for children starting from the age of eight and have it continued further for a period of ten years. This is the real Kanakabishekam and Uthsavam (celebrations) for me. The doctrines of Veda which is there from time immemorial should always shine in its original form. Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – On this auspicious Guru Varam I’m blessed and privileged to post about a Veda Patasa that started yesterday in Gangai Kondachozhapuram. Few days back I posted about Veda Rakshanam and Sri Periyava explaining in detail about how protecting Vedas is paramount for our Aathma and Loka Kshemam. In this context it is extremely important to sustain the existing Veda Patasalas and support the upcoming ones. Many Brahmins like me have abandoned Vedas which should be their life time profession per Shastras. As a bare minimum atonement let us consider sparing at least a little bit of our earnings every month in supporting these Veda Patasalas. Below is the Sri Mukam from our Periyava and the appeal for help for this Patasala. This Patasala is very special in the sense that all the Vidhyarthis who are studying here will be supporting many ancient Siva temples that are currently in dire need of Siva Agama trained Archakas for doing Nithya Pujas. Background – Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam Vaidhika Agama Patasala
Our Acahrya Kanchi Kamakoti Peetathipathi His Holiness Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal during his Sri Matam Camp at Gangai Konda Chozhapuram in the year 2019 felt the need to train many students in the holy tradition of Shiva Agama and Vedas. The vast number of temples in and around Gangai Konda Chozhapuram are unable to be maintained due to the unavailability of Shivacharyars for even conducting the Nithya Poojas, let alone special poojas. Even the Gangai Konda Chozhapuram temple being a very large temple the Shivacharyar alone is unable physically to perform all the poojas regularly at all the Parivara Devathas while concentrating on the main murthy Sri. Brahadeeswara
In view of this and also ensuring that Poojas at the Brahadeeshwara Temple are performed and also many students are provided a proper livelihood as Shivacharyars Acharya ordered us to start a Shiva Agama Patasala in the building available for use during Annabhishekam.
The Kala Ranjani Trust which maintains the Building for Annabhishekam purposes was reformed with Mutt representatives in the Trust and the plan was set in motion.
The inauguration Pooja of the Veda Patasala was performed on January 17th 2021 in the traditional manner with Homas and poojas (Few pics below). However, due to the Lockdown and also the reluctance of Parents to send their wards for the Patasala classes could not be started then and even the infrastructure facilities could not be completed then due to lock down restrictions and impaired movement.
Sri Periyava has now redirected us firmly that the Patasala should start functioning from November 24th 2021 onwards and has also given his Shri Mukham for this purpose. We have now recruited 15 students and 3 Adhyabakars led by Shivasri K. Balasubramnian Shivacharyar (Former Chief in Pazhani Murugan temple), a learned scholar par excellence in Shiva agama and Veda and the courses will include Agama, Veda, Thirumurai and Sastras. Common subjects like English, Maths and Tamil will be taught by Local Teachers who have been contacted.

This is a Follow up report on the functioning of the Patasala in this post. It is now nearly two years that the Patasala continues to function and as of now 10 Children are continuing their studies. Further, around 11 students have shown interest to join this Patasala but due to Paucity of Funds in maintaining extra teachers we have not yet admitted them. Till now the patasala is functioning uninterrupted and the First Year Exams have also been conducted. The Annual Function for distribution of Prizes is fixed in the Last week of August 2022 when a Agama Sathas is also planned. However, the flow of Donations have since trickled down which is causing severe financial strain for continuing this Patasala. A GhoShala also needs to be arranged since Many people are interested in donating Cow which will be used to milk and supply to the Brahadeeswara temple for Abhishekam. In such a condition, we renew our appeal for generous donations to the account mentioned earlier in this Posting. If anybody is willing we also require two Inverters one for the academic area and one for the the Lodging and Boarding area of the Shiskshaks since Power cut is a major hazard since th Patasala is required in a village and the supply is erratic.

In compliance to the directions of Periyava and with the immense support of all the Bhaktas the Patasala was inaugurated on 24th November 2021 at Gangai Konda Cholapuram. The total strength of Students is 9 with 4 more likely to join in the coming weeks. After visiting the Sri Brahadeeswara temple Ganapathy Homam was performed and classes commenced. Adhyaksh – Sivagama Shiromani Sri Balasubramanian Sivacharyar and Sri Ganesh Sivacharyar started the classes.
The Following morning at 8:00 am , as per the schedule drafted, the children had gone to the Temple and Recited Shri Rudram. This routine was repeated by Evening at 6:30 pm.
Arrangements have been made for Safe stay of the children and a mess has also been established for Boarding facilities. We expect the Patasala to be fully equipped within the next fortnight by which time Online Seminars and Subject Classes for English, Tamil, Maths will also be started online.
We once again thank all our supporters and patrons without whose help the project could not have been completed. Further reports will also be posted on a regular basis and request all the patrons to continue your support for ensuring smooth running of the Patasala.
