இங்கே நம் தேசத்தில் இப்படி ஒரு சின்ன கூட்டம் இருந்தால் லோகம் முழுவதும் எப்படி க்ஷேமமடையும் என்றால்… பவர் ஹவுஸ் இருக்கிறது. அங்கே நாலுபேர்தான் வேலை செய்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் ஊர் முழுக்கப் பிரகாசமாய் விடுகிறது. அந்த நாலுபேர் வேலை செய்யாவிட்டால் ஊரே இருட்டாகி விடுகிறது. இப்படியே லோக மங்கள தீபமான வேதத்தைத் தூக்கிப் பிடிக்க இங்கே கொஞ்சம்பேர் இருந்தால் போதுமானது. இதற்கான விதை முதலை எப்படியாவது காப்பாற்றித்தந்துவிட வேண்டும் என்கிற காரியத்துக்கே வந்திருக்கிறேன். இதற்காகவே எனக்குச் செய்கிற உத்ஸவங்களுக்கு ஒப்புக் கொண்டேன். இந்த உத்ஸவங்களில் போட்ட ‘ஜய ஜய சங்கர’, ‘ஹரஹர சங்கர’ கோஷம்தான் இத்தனை பேரை இங்கே என் பேச்சை கேட்க இழுத்து வந்திருக்கிறது. இப்படி ஒரு கோஷம், கீஷம் இருந்தால்தான் ஆள் சேர்ந்து அதன்மூலம் நாம் காரியத்தைப் சாதித்துக் கொள்ளப் பார்க்கலாம் என்றே ஒப்புக்கொண்டேன். எனக்கு உத்ஸவம் நடத்தியவர்கள் நான் சொல்வதைக் கேட்க வேண்டும்; கேட்பதற்கு பிரயாசையாவது படவேண்டும். சிரமத்தோடு சிரமமாக எனக்காகவும் கொஞ்சம்படுங்கள். உங்களுக்காக எத்தனையோ காரியம் செய்து கொள்கிறீர்கள் – ஆபீஸ், பொழுதுபோக்கு இப்படி பலவிதமான பிஸினஸ் பண்ணுகிறீர்கள். எனக்காக இந்த வேத ரக்ஷணத்தைப் பண்ணுங்கள். எனக்காக, உங்களுக்காக என்று வித்தியாசம் என்ன? நான், நீங்கள் எல்லாம் ஒன்றுதான். என் காரியம் உங்கள் காரியம்தான். வேதத்தை ரக்ஷித்துவிட்டால் அதுதான் எல்லோருக்கும் பரம சிரேயஸைத் தருகிற ஒரே காரியம். இதைத் செய்வதால் க்ஷேமம் உங்களுக்கு, பெயர் எனக்கு. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

One may question how this small group in our country can bring about the welfare of the whole world. In a power house only four people may be working but the entire region is lit. If those four don’t work then the whole region plunges into darkness. To uphold the auspicious Vedic light few persons are enough. I have come to protect somehow the seeds that are to be sown. That is why I agreed for the festivities you had arranged for me. So many people were drawn here to listen to my talks due to the loud chantings of ‘Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara’. I agreed because only by such loud chants people would gather and I could achieve my purpose. Those who celebrated me should listen to me; at-least make an effort to listen. You encounter many difficulties. Let this be an additional one for my sake. You do so many things for you such as office work, recreation, etc. Do this Veda Rakshana for my sake. Is there any difference such as for my sake or your sake? You and I are no different. My mission is your mission.  Protection of Vedas is the only task that would give great benefit to all. Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – Veda Rakshanam has always been the number one priority for our Periyava. Sri Periyava has asked us to do two things:

1. Brahmins learning Vedas, bare minimum our children should learn Vedas with proper Madi and Aacharam for atleast one hour every day for ten years.

2. Support needy Veda Patasalas by whatever means.

The above golden quote is a small snippet from Maha Periyava’s Deivathin Kural. Periyava has literally pleaded with all the Brahmins in the Vaitheega Matham section of Vol 1 to somehow protect Vedas and support Veda Patasalas by whatever means. Even a stone will melt when those chapters are  read. Periyava has very clearly said that there is not point in doing Utsavam and Kanakaabishegam for him if we forgo Veda Rakshanam. If you ask any Vaitheeka today he will say all these Veda Patasalas are in existence only due to Maha Periyava. Such was the grave situation around five decades back. As we all are aware, running a Patasala is not easy and needs resources. As part of our Periyava Kainkaryam activities, we have been providing Samith to around 20 needy patasalas. We also supply Bhojana Dravyams (grocery packs) to those Patasalas.  Please remember Agni Karyam and Anushtanams are extremely important without which the world will be doomed.
