தர்மம் என்றால் மநுஷ்ய வாழ்க்கை நெறிகள் எல்லாமும்தான் என்றாலும், பொது வழக்கில் ‘தானம்’ என்ற ஒன்றுக்கு மட்டுமே ‘தர்மம்’ என்ற பேரும் வந்துவிட்டது. தர்மங்களில் இது அத்தனை உசத்தியான இடத்தைப் பெற்று விட்டது! ‘தான-தர்மம்’ என்று சேர்த்தே சொல்கிறோம். ‘தர்மம் போடு தாயே!’ என்றுதான் பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் கூடச் சொல்கிறார்கள். தர்மசாலை என்றாலே அன்னசத்திரந்தான். வேதப் பிரமாணத்துக்கு ஸமதையான சிறப்புப் பெற்ற அவ்வை வசனத்திலும் ‘ஈதல் அறம்’ என்று தானத்தையே தர்மம் என்று equate பண்ணியிருக்கிறது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீசந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகளின் அருள்மொழிகள்

Though Dharma encompasses all the principles of a righteous life, in common usage, it has come to specify charity or Dhaanam. Charity has come to occupy such a special place in Dharma or the principles of righteous life. We talk of ‘Dhaana-Dharmam’. Even a beggar pleads with us to perform Dharmam.  Dharmasala has come to signify Anna Chathiram or a shelter that provides free food. Even in the works of Avvaiyaar, the great saint poetess, which enjoy the same status as the declarations of Vedas, charity is equated to dharma. – Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal

You can consider participating in our nithya Annadhanam program in the day of your choice or on auspicious occasions, festivals, birthdays, wedding anniversaries, ancestor thithi’s, etc. Posting a few pictures.
