We all know that Mahaperiyava and Thenambakkam is inseparable. We all have been to that kshetram seen the room where Periyava spent in self-isolation for a year or so and stories about how that place was blessed by Periyava and how many important delegates have visited there for Darshan.

Only few weeks back I came to know that this place has a very special significance to Sri Balaperiyava also. After He got sanyasa from Sri Pudhuperiyava in Kamakshi Amman Kovil, Sri Pudhuperiyava had to go for yatra. So Balaperiyava was asked to go to Thenambakkam and stay there. The first place he went after getting sanyasa was Thenambakkam. When I was talking to someone who is doing Kainkarya to Periyava few weeks back, he narrated me this incident.

In fact Periyava was supposed to go Rameswaram for yatra and Periyava suddenly decided to go to Thenambakkam and then decide rest of the plan. After reaching there the next day the whole country went for a lockdown.
