Prabhu is our family friend for more than 4 decades. We all grew up in Dalmiapuram together. Christian by religion, he has absolute respect for Hinduism. It is a true blessing to have friends like him who have respect for all religions and believe in universal harmony. There are lots of similar friends in Dalmiapuram like him. Dalmiapuram has given a fantastic diverse environment for us to grow and taught us to give respect for others and enjoy the world. Prabhu is a great writer – written and directed lots of Tamil plays – mostly comedy and lots of poems. He writes poems on many of our Hindu festivals. Here is his poem on Vinayagar on this auspicious day!

முழுமுதல் கடவுளே
தொழுதிட முதல்வனே
பழுதிலா பரமனே
பழுத்தஞானம் உண்டவனே
அழுத்தமிகு ஆண்டவனே..!
கொம்பை ஒடித்தவனே
வம்பை முடித்தவனே
தும்பைத் தூயவனே
தெம்பைக் காப்பவனே
மும்பை நாயகனே.
வேழ முகத்தோனே
ஆழ அறிவாழியே
சூழ மங்கள ஒளியே
வீழ விடாதவனே
வாழ வழி செய்வனே
அறிய முடியாதவனே
சிறிய சிலை ஆனவனே
வறிய நிலை அழிப்பவனே
நெறிகள் நேடிடவே
குறிப்பை தந்தவனே..!
பார்வதி மைந்தனே
நேர்சிவன் குமரனே
ஓர் உள்ளக் கடவுளே
சீர் முருகன் அண்ணனே
பார் வணங்கும் பரமனே
யாணை முகத்தோனே
பாணை வயிற்றோனே
வீணை இசைத்தோனே
கோணைக் காப்போனே
தூணைத் துதி கை செய்தோனே
வானை வளைத்தவனே
மீனை காப்பவனே
சேனை வெல்பவனே
ஊனை குறைத்தவனே
தேனை உரைத்தவனே
சங்கரன் மகனே
சக்தியின் மகனே
சக்தி விநாயகனே
சங்கடம் தீர்ப்பவனே
சனித்திட்ட உன்னாளில்
