Mahaperiyava embroidery by Smt Janaki Ramamurthy

Smt Janaki is mama’s college professor’s wife. It took roughly 2 years for her to complete as she was very hesitant initially, afraid if she would be able to complete it. Also she couldn’t spend much time on a daily basis due to domestic commitments. Some times she would keep it aside for weeks on. She used to post images in progress to mama and mama used to encourage her. Finally she completed an excellent job two weeks ago.

As per mama, this is a very strenuous effort and much harder than a painting – mama had seen her do this few times in-person too.
