முகலாய அரசர்களான அக்பரும் ஷாஜஹானும், மிக ஸமீப காலத்திலேயே ஆஃப்கானிஸ்தானின் அமீரும் பசு ஸம்ரக்ஷணையின் அவசியத்தை உணர்ந்து அதற்கான சட்டங்களைச் செய்திருக்கிறார்களென்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

ஆகவே நாம் உரிய முறைப்படி எடுத்துச் சொன்னால் இந்த தேசத்தின் ஸகல பிரிவுகளையும் சேர்ந்த பிரஜைகள் எல்லோருமே நமக்கு ஆதரவு தருவார்கள் என்பதே என் நம்பிக்கை. அரசாங்கமும் எந்த ஒரு பிரிவினருக்கும் விரோதமாகச் சட்டம் செய்வதற்கில்லை என்ற காரணத்துக்காக இந்த உத்தமமான கார்யத்தைப் பண்ணாமலிருக்கும் நிலை மாறிச் சட்ட பூர்வமான ரக்ஷணை கிடைக்கும்.

அவசியமான சிலவற்றை அழிக்காமல் காப்பளிப்பதற்குச் சட்டம் செய்தால்தான் முடிகிறது என்பதால் அரசாங்கம் அப்படியே செய்கிறது. க்ரூரமான வனவிலங்குகள் கூட அழிந்து போய்விடக்கூடாது என்று சட்டபூர்வமாகக் காப்புத் தரப்பட்டிருக்கிறது. சந்தன மரத்துக்கு அப்படிக் காப்பு இருப்பது எல்லோருக்கும் தெரிந்ததே. ஆனால் தெரியாத ஒன்று சொல்கிறேன்; இலுப்பை மரம் அப்படிப்பட்ட உயர்ந்த வஸ்துவா என்று தோன்றக்கூடும். ஆனால் வங்கம், பிஹார் எல்லையிலுள்ள ஸாந்தால் பர்கணாவைச் சேர்ந்த ஆதிவாஸிகளுக்கு இலுப்பை மரம்தான் முக்யமான உணவை அளித்து வந்தது. அதனால் அதை இஷ்டப்படி வெட்டிச் சாய்க்கக்கூடாது என்று சட்டமே இருந்தது. – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

It needs mention here that Mughal emperors like Akbar and Shajahan and even in the quite recent past Amir from Afghanisthan, have realised the importance of cow protection and have enacted laws for the same.

Therefore I believe that if we explain about it in a proper way, the citizens of this nation belonging to various groups will offer support to us. Also it will bring upon a change in the prevailing situation where the government is unable to enforce this law and carry out the noble act of protecting the cows as it cannot antogonise a particular group and this will lead to cow protection being secured by law.

As certain necessary things can be saved from destruction only by enforcing a law, the government acts swiftly and enacts laws. Even wild animals are being protected by law from becoming extinct.  It’s a known fact that there is such a law to preserve Sandalwood trees. But let me tell you something new and unknown; it might set you thinking if ‘Iluppai’ tree is all that precious. But for the tribes belonging to the ‘Santhal Burgana’, living in the borders of Bengal and Bihar, it is the ‘Iluppai’ tree which was offering their staple food.
