This must be same year or a few years after taking over the mutt on the death of previous guru who was there as guru only for 7 days and died like his guru (Paramasivendra Saraswathi) who also died of same disease.

Mahaperiyava ‘s age must be 14 in 1908.
But in this photo the Swamiji doesn’t look like a boy.
