I am sad to share that our beloved and highly respected Sri Musiri Dikshitar is no more. He was addressed as Musiri Periyava by Mahaperiyava Himself for his authority on vedas, karma anushtanams etc. He gave up a lucrative position with Tirupati upon the explicit instructions of Mahaperiyava and took up Srimad Ramayana Parayanam. Further on, he embraced a life of Agnihotram and Yagna-s, and initiated several people into it. All his life dikshitar was insisting all of us to do sandhyavandhanam and Nithya karma anushtanams without fail. His entire family is into agnihothram and they run veda Patasala and ghosala – in the way Mahaperiyava wanted.
While it is sad to see great Mahans leaving this place, our only way of showing respect is to follow their advices.

Great loss to the society. Only by following his teachings, we can pay our tributes to Sri Musiri Periyava. There are thousands of people still living and preaching the Vedas, Shastras as prescribed by Maha Periyava of Kanchi Mutt. We need to identify and honour them for their ‘great living’.
Sad to hear this. Based on your advice I had the good fortune to obtain his Grace few times when I visited Musiri.
I am sure his Grace transcends the physical form and will continue to bless everyone.

So sad to hear. Only couple of days back I attended the satsang of Vakkil anna in Chrompet and he talked about Musiri Periyava and requested us to see him and his family.
