ஒன்றையும் நினைக்காமலிருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக ஸாதனை பண்ணும்போது ஒரு ஸ்டேஜில் சிலபேருக்கு மனஸ் சிறிது நேரம் காலியாகப் போய்விடுவதுண்டு. அதாவது அதில் எண்ணம் எழும்பாதுதான். ஆனாலும் அது ஆத்மாநுபவமாக இல்லாமல், வெறும் சூன்யமாக இருக்கும். மனஸின் ஓட்டம் நின்று விட்டாலும் ஆத்ம ஜ்யோதிஸ்ஸின் ப்ரகாசம் தெரியாத நிலையாயிருக்கும். இது ஞானம் இல்லாத நிலை. ஆத்மாநுபவம் என்பதோ பூர்ண ஞான நிலை. ஆத்ம ‘ஜ்யோதிஸ்’ என்றேனே, அப்படியானால் அது அக்னி மாதிரி ஒரு ரூபத்தில் இருக்கும் என்றா அர்த்தம்? இல்லை. ஞானத்தைத்தான் இங்கே ‘ஜ்யோதிஸ்’ என்பது. அறிவொளி என்பது இதுதான். இங்கிலீஷிலும் ஞானம் வருவதை enlightenment, illumination என்றே சொல்கிறார்கள். இந்த அறிவு இன்னொன்றை ஆராய்ச்சி பண்ணித் தெரிந்து கொள்ளும் அறிவில்லை. இது இன்னொன்றாக எதுவுமே இல்லாத தன்னைத் தானே தெரிந்து கொள்வதுதான். இப்படிப்பட்ட ஞானாநுபவம் இல்லாமலே, நல்ல தூக்கத்தில் ஒரு தினுஸு மாதிரி, ஒரு எண்ணமும் இல்லாமல் புத்தி வெறிச்சாகிவிடுகிற நிலை கொஞ்சம் நாழி ஏற்படலாம். அதற்காக பயப்படக் கூடாது. இது தாற்காலிகமாயிருப்பதுதான். ஆத்மாவோ, ஈஸ்வரனோ, அந்த எதுவோ ஒன்று தெரிய வேண்டும் என்ற தாபத்தை விடாமல், பிரார்த்தனை பண்ணிக் கொண்டு, தொடர்ந்து இந்தப் பிரயாஸையில் உட்கார்ந்து வந்தால் இந்த சூன்ய நிலையிலிருந்தே ஈஸ்வர பரமாக, ஆத்ம ஸம்பந்தமாக மாத்திரம் நினைக்கிற நிலைக்குப் போய் விடுவோம். From no-thought to God-thought. நினைப்பு இருக்கும்; ஆனால் இப்போதுள்ளதுபோல் இந்திரியப் பிடுங்கல் உள்ள நினைப்பாக இல்லாமல் துன்பக் கலப்பே இல்லாத பேரின்பமான ஈஸ்வர நினைப்பாக இருக்கும். அதற்கப்புறம் அந்த ஈச்வரனும் வேறேயாயில்லாத பரம ஞான நிலையில் எல்லா நினைப்புகளும், அவற்றுக்கு மூலமான மனஸும் கரைந்துபோய், நிறைந்த நிறைவான மௌனம் ஸித்திக்கும். ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர ஸரஸ்வதி  ஸ்வாமிகள்

When a person attempts to remain completely thoughtless, a stage may come when the mind becomes empty. Thoughts may not arise but it will be a state of complete blankness. But it will not be a state of spiritual experience. Even though the mind has stopped its wandering, the Divine Spiritual light may not manifest itself. This is an unenlightened state. The ultimate spiritual experience is one of Complete Awareness. The light mentioned here is not fire. It refers to the Light Wisdom. The English language also refers to such a state as enlightenment or illumination. This knowledge is not obtained by any kind of research. It is a negation of duality and the subsequent self-awareness. Sometimes, in a state of slumber, one may have a feeling of absolute emptiness but one should not get scared. If we continue to ardently strive for the vision of the Divine Supreme or the Soul, gradually one will be led to that Divine state, from no thought to God thought. It will be sheer Divine Bliss without even an iota of suffering unlike the current state of numerous distractions.
