An Unique New Year Resolution – Help Ourselves & …….

We should never fail to utilize the help (gifts) which Gho Matha showers on us with utmost compassion. We are making a mistake of abandoning her gifts or misuse them and ultimately deny the protection she deserves. Nurturing should be mutual between mankind and cows according to the words of Lord Shri Krishna in Bhagavat Gita “Parasparam Bhaavayantha“. The cows gift us abundantly for the meager nourishment we provide them.  We should not be ungrateful to the cows after their yielding phase ends. We have to protect them till their life time. The ghoshalas and pinjarapoles which are scarce now should increase in great numbers for protecting both yielding and unyielding cows. People should come forward to donate money liberally for this cause and offer physical effort with utmost concern since anything spent on this comes back as Punnya. – Pujyasri Kanchi Maha Periyava

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara – On this English New Year eve, I want to bring to your attention a unique and innovative way where we can support Gho Mathas. As Sri Periyava laments in the quote above, the compassion of Mother Cow has been immense that she has so much to offer that we fail to utilize or even worse, notice them.

First up, a bit of background. Most of the Gosalas try to leverage support out of donations. There is nothing wrong with that and as Periyava says anything we do for Mother Cow is not really enough. However, pragmatically speaking, it is a challenging model to sustain month after month, year after year. How often we have seen  donations support wane after a period of time, the Gosalas runs into crisis and raises desperate SOS (Save our Souls) requests over and over again?

This was the challenge faced by Sri Gokula Krishna Gosala, Devandavakkam Village near Thiruvallur as well. This is the Gosala we are supporting for the past few months and this is where some of the cows we rescued this year are residing. Due to volatile fodder, labor, and water supply they decided to standup on their own to the best they can. The result, with help of organic farming experts they started manufacturing several high quality native breed cow products. They are situated well outside the Chennai City and their exposure to marketing techniques are very limited.

This is where we Periyava devotees can and should help. We are seeing so many people around us suffering from so many ailments. Did we even think for a second what may be the reason? Let’s take a few minutes to introspect the various products we are using in our daily lives and see what it does to our health. Almost every product we use contain artificial ingredients and chemical toxins. In the long run, this is bound to affect our family/children’s health. These products have been marketed by corporate giants with only one thing in their mind; filling up coffers and hitting their sales targets.  We have seen in news and social media with ample evidences on how products like Carbonated drinks, Maggie, Sweeteners, Disinfectants, etc. adversely affects our health.

Very few are aware of the significance of our native breed mother cow and the healthy products she can give us. Mother Cow is much more than milk. Apart from her byproducts like buttermilk, curd, and cheese she also provides us organic and very healthy products like Pure ghee, Floor cleaner, Hair oil, Facial powder, Mosquito Coil, Massage Oil, Tooth powder, Soap, Bath powder, Dhoop sticks, Dish Washing powder, Gho Ark (cures diseases like Cancer, Cholestrol, Blood Pressure, improving health immunity, etc.). All these products are pure and natural with no chemical ingredients and immense health benefits. Mother Cow does not know to market her products like the corporate giants do nor does her products look as flashy. However the results can be seen when we start using it.

I have been using these quality products for several months and wanted to spread the word around. As a proof of concept, we in our housing community formed a small group and started buying the gho products. The response was very positive and overwhelming that around 15 families have started using these products regularly. The amount of orders we placed last month alone could feed two cows for a month….amazing isn’t it…? As Periyava says below “Parasparam Bhaavayantha” (helping each other) which is the way to go forward. We humans, are way more in numbers compared to cows so even if each of us buy a few products it is very easy for the gosala to become self-sufficient and sustain.

Apart from rescuing cows from slaughter and providing them with decent living conditions, this Gosala has gone above and beyond, have started manufacturing pure gho products despite all the challenges that life throws at them on a daily basis. Don’t we, as Periyava devotees, have a moral obligation and responsibility to give them a helping hand and ensure the Gosala becomes self-sufficient?

Let’s not confine Mother Cow to any religion. She gives milk and all of her products to the entire humanity without looking at our caste, creed, sex, and religion. As humans, with sixth sense, we should realize this and show her some gratitude for all she has been giving us for generations including our life time. Think about it, any gratitude we show her will not be enough. These products are not produced with margins in mind but with a noble intent to pay back and help feed Mother cow.

Please do not dismiss this post as a marketing flyer. All I’m asking is this. We are forwarding & sharing so many messages that are hardly worth a dime. Can we, for Periyava, please share this message to as many as you can? As mentioned before, the Gosala does not have much wherewithal to market these products so please consider taking a couple of seconds to press one of the buttons at the bottom of this post as that is the only way the way this message can reach the wider audience.

On this New Year eve, let’s start with the first step by helping her and in turn ourselves in the process. Thank you. Rama Rama

Please pardon my writing this again. I have written many times but have received not one single response, and I consider the above appeal the height of nescience of hypocrisy and dereliction of duty. so many of us are fighting for decades, in genuine non-profits, in TAMIL NADU, ERODE/GOBICHETTIPALAYAM, and in West Bengal, working with the poorest Palm Tappers, creating situations where the go-matas can be integrated into Palm plantations in a sustainable cycle of crop production, soil regeneration, etc. It is MUCH better than confining them in a go-shala. Cows belong in a natural environment.

I find it very painful that there is no effort on the part of any reader to even ask what it is we are doing. Our few members take no recompense, and our credentials are open to all to scrutinize at great length. Our references are abundantly available. WE WANT NO MONEY, only your goodwill and kind blessings. WE ARE PRODUCING high quality palm gur packed in hygienic plastic bottles. Please do support ventures like ours that help the poorest palm tappers find sustenance and try to understand the VERY COMPLEX NATURE OF SAVING COWS AT THE FARMER LEVEL. IT CANNOT BE MANAGED ONLY AT GOSHALAS, which is an artificial construct.

Please try to understand the nature of the cow’s contribution where she NOW eixists, with the palm tapper, the small farmer. FOR THE SAKE of the HOLY SWAMIGAL, please do not interject your own false understanding of the rural economy. Help the marginal farmer family on site to preserve the ageing cow. We have many willing hands who are willing to help such families, especially the older women and children produce ayurvedic cosmetics, soaps, etc. from cow urine, residual milk, and many byproducts, as home-based industries. At their own pace, own convenience. When we go to people like you, we are faced with cold indifference and mockery.

We are in the field for decades. I have spent the entirety of my life, whatever God chose to teach me via degrees in economics and cell biology at Yale. I hear nonsense from people who are completely ignorant of facts and substance passing themselves off as experts in India and on the internet, jabbering away like satanic clowns. Sorry to say. But when we ask for some real inputs, a sincere soul, or souls, we are met my deafening silence.

Here are my challenges. You may contact Prof. Kaushik Basu, former Chief Economic Adviser, Govt. of India, and through him, Prof. Raghuram Rajan, Prof, Shankar Acharya, and even Dr. manmohan Singh. Ask them whether I am a charlatan, or a thief about to cheat you of your gains. Am I am an idiot, an ignoramus who knows nothing about what I speak? Find someone whose knowledge about the ecology, and agriculture of India, and the role of the cattle will exceed that which God has chosen to give to this fool. Bring Swaminathan to the table and let him debate on the role he has played on the debacle we are facing in India’s agricultural crisis. Will ANY ONE OF YOU TAKE THIS OPEN CHALLENGE in the HOLY NAME of the Mahaswamigal?

I am so sick of reading inane stuff but there is not one realistic vigorous sincere effort being made in India. Billions are being spent on temples everywhere. Not one useful effort is being made in agricultural development. I know because that is what I am obsessed with, 24/7, 365. Tamil Nadu is burning up, in the hands of scoundrels and satanic individual, ignorant devils. Sorry to say. Everyone’s egos have to be assuaged in perpetuity, but the holy Motherland must die. EGO is all, everything else is shit. That is our saddharma!

This body is terminally ill, so it does not care what people think. It has tried its best from 1978, and whatever so called resources it may have been granted by God has been wholly exhausted in this one effort. So, one’s effort has been wholly placed where one’s mouth is. The most Holy Swamigal, the Holy Gita, the Holy Ganga, the Holy Gayatri, and the most Holy Govinda are witness and judge. Beyond this, one cannot say more. Up to you to believe and to act with our people at Erode/Gobichettipalayam. Try it out for size a little and see how it goes. We are not cheats. Save your abuse. We are not interested. Come forward with a loving heart if you wish, in the service of Sri Sri Mahaswamigal’s wishes, His people, His gomata. We are servants of Sri Mahaswamigal.

    Pranam

    • Namaskaram Sir,

In my many years of association with the blog, this is the first post or comment I have seen from you. Sorry for saying this, your message sounds very rude and extreme saying our country should die, Gosalas are artificial, etc. This goes in direct contrast to what our Periyava and every Aacharya says: Lokha Samastha Sukino Bhavanthu and as Periyava says in the above quote that Ghosalas and Pinjarapoles should floruish. Sri Periyava himself has been instrumental in starting many Gosala’s. Are you saying he is wrong?

Forget cows for a minute, Man himself should be aligned and live with nature but we have come way far off, is it practical to implement what you say in the current age we live in? The Gosala I mentioned above is located in a very natural environment where they have big farm lands so grazing is what they do most. You don’t have to take my words. Pl. goto to the Gosala in the address mentioned in the post and you will see for yourself.

One more thing, in a fit of rage, in your long post, you did not even bother to mention about the background, contact info. details on what products you are talking about, where we can get it, etc. For example, I do not know what Palm Gur is, what is it used for, its benefit, where I can get, etc. It seems you are a senior citizen but please mellow down. As Sri Periyava says whatever heights we achieve one should stay grounded and humble. You have used Periyava’s name many times but it seems you are taking his name for swearing than really asking for people top join hands with you to help a noble cause.

Please share the contact details, product details, etc. If you have a Website or FB that would really help understand better. Rama Rama

    • That’s typical way of ‘Vaama Paksham’ people thinking. Sorry to say. You have some idea of helping some people who are in need of real help, fine you can support the cause, but not in this platform for that.

Secondly, you cannot compare human skill and adaptability with situation and narrow thinking to gain advantage from others which we commonly witness everywhere with soft animals like cows that need our (human) support. What is your problem in writing about cows here? Don’t like it, just skip the blog and continue to show your support to Palm Gur, whatever you say it. Why you need to peep here and disturb us? Sorry to say.

Who the heck you are to say what is to be written here and what to be supported here? Sorry to say this.

I think you should learn to write how things to be put in a polite way. I am sorry for my rant.

What do you think?
