In this incident Sri Periyava categorically dismisses who crossed ocean are not considered Brahmins. That too for a respected individual born in an esteemed Vedic family and done a lot for Veda Rakshanam. What about a moron like me who has done that countless # of times?

ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் மகிமை (9-10-2013)

“இன்னியோட எல்லா பாவமும் போயாச்சு”

தன் அபார கருணையினால் சாட்சாத் சர்வேஸ்வரர் இப்புவியில் எளிய துறவியின் திரு உருவோடு சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் அபார மேன்மையோடு நம்மில் ஒருவராய் நமக்கெல்லாம் அருளியிருப்பது நாம் பெற்ற பெரும் அரிய பாக்யமாகும்.

திரு. ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் என்ற பக்தரின் அனுபவம் அலாதியானது.

நரம்பியல் மருத்துவரான டாக்டர் எஸ். கல்யாணராமன் அவர்கள் தன் மேல் படிப்பு சம்பந்தமாக அயல்நாடு சென்று வர ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளிடம் உத்தரவு கேட்ட போது, திரும்பி வந்து அதற்கான பிராயச்சித்தமாக ராமேஸ்வரம் போக முடியாமல் மன உறுத்தலோடு ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளிடம் வந்தபோது அங்கே அப்போது இவரைப் போலவே நைஜீரியா சென்று வந்ததற்கு பிராயசித்தம் செய்து கொண்டாக வேண்டுமென்றுக் கூறியதாக ஒரு சம்பவமுண்டு. கடல் கடந்து செல்லும் போது தொடர்ந்து மூன்று நாட்கள் அனுஷ்டானங்கள் விடுபட வாய்ப்புண்டு என்பதால் இப்படி ஒரு விதி இருப்பதாக அவர்கள் புரிந்து கொண்டதாக அமைந்தது. ஆனால் நேர்மாறாக இந்த பக்தர் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு ஈஸ்வரராம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அளித்துள்ள அனுபவம் வேறுபட்டதாக அமைந்துள்ளது.

இவர் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ சுவாமிநாத தீட்சிதரின் புதல்வர். சுவாமிநாத தீட்சிதர் ஒருபிரபல வேத பண்டிதர். சோமயாஜி என்ற பட்டத்தை பெறும் தகுதியை பெரிய யாகங்கள் செய்து அடைந்தவர். தஞ்சாவூரில் மெலட்டூர் என்ற கிராமத்தில் முதன்முதலாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் தன் தந்தையாருடன் தரிசித்தார்.

டில்லியில் வேத தர்ம சாஸ்திர பரிபாலன சபையினர் வேத சம்மேளனம் நடத்தியபோது இவர் அந்த சம்மேளனத்திற்குப் பெரும் தொண்டாற்றினார். பொருளாளர் பொறுப்பேற்று எல்லா சம்மேளன நிகழ்ச்சிகளையும் சிறப்பாக நடக்க உதவினார். இதன் பயனாக ஸ்ரீ அண்ணாதுரை அய்யங்கார், அக்னிகோத்ரம் ராமனுஜ தாத்தாசார்யார் போன்ற வேத வல்லுநர்களின் தொடர்பு கிடைத்தது.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை 1964 ஆம் வருடம் தரிசித்தபோதுதான் வேதத்திற்கு ஆற்றிய பங்கைத் தெரிவித்து வணங்கினார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளோ “ நீ வேத பாரம்பர்ய குடும்பத்திலிருந்து வந்தவன்…….நீ வேத சம்பந்தமான வேலையில் ஈடுபடலைன்னா வேறு யாரு இதுக்கெல்லாம் வருவா சொல்லு” என்பதாக இது அவரது கடமை என்பது போல் எடுத்துரைத்தார்.

1968 அக்டோபர் மாதம் இவருடைய இரண்டாவது மருமகன் பெங்களூர் செல்லும் வழியில் ஒரு விபத்துக்குள்ளானார். உடனே அவரை சென்னையில் ஒரு நர்சிங்ஹோமில் கொண்டு வந்து சேர்த்தனர். மிக அபாயகரமான நிலையில் அவர் இருந்தார்.

இதை அறிந்ததும் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் அவர்கள் டில்லியிலிருந்து சென்னைக்குப் புறப்பட்டார். வழி நெடுகிலும் கவலை. தன் மருமகன் உயிர் பிழைத்து நல்லபடியாக வேண்டுமே என்று வேண்டியபடி வந்தார். ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளிடம் முறையிடுவது என தீர்மானித்தவர் வழியில் ஹைதராபாத்தில் இறங்கிக் கொண்டார்.

விமான நிலையத்திலிருந்து ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க பத்மாராவ் நகர் என்ற ஊருக்கு விரைந்தார். அவர் அங்கு சென்றபோது ஸ்ரீபெரியவா அங்கிருந்து அன்றைய சாயங்காலம் ராமச்சந்திரபுரம் என்ற இடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுவிட்டதாக அறிந்து ஈஸ்வரரைத் தேடி அங்கு ஓடினார்.

மனதில் மருமகனைப்பற்றிய சிந்தனையில் ஒரே படபடப்பு.

அங்கே போனபோதும் பூஜைகள் எல்லாம் முடிந்து அங்கிருந்து ஸ்ரீபெரியவா பரிவாரங்களுடன் கிளம்ப தயாராயிருப்பது தெரிந்தது. ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவா அமர்ந்திருந்த பல்லக்கையும் தூக்கி அங்கிருந்து புறப்பட ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டனர்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளின் அருட்பார்வை ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் பதற்றத்துடன் ஓடி வருவதைப் பார்த்துவிட்டது. உடனே பல்லக்கை அப்படியே இறக்கி வைக்கும்படி சைகை செய்தார்.

ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் அவர்கள் விழுந்து நமஸ்கரித்தார்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவா எனும் நடமாடும் காருண்யதெய்வம் அவரை ஒரு ஆதரவான, மென்மையான, அன்பான குரலில் “உனக்குத் தெரியுமோ……உன் மாப்பிள்ளை பிழைச்சுண்டுட்டார்னு” என்று கேட்டார்.

இவருக்கோ பதில் சொல்ல இயலவில்லை. அந்த சமயத்தில் ஸ்ரீபெரியவா சொன்ன ஆறுதலான வார்த்தைகளிலிருந்துதான் மாப்பிள்ளை மோசமான நிலையில் இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்ற விஷயமே இவருக்குப் புரிந்தாற்போலிருந்தது. நிலைகொள்ளாமல் சென்னை விரைந்தார்.

அங்கே நர்சிங்ஹோம் சென்று தகவல் அறிந்ததும் தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் மாபெரும் கருணை புலப்பட்டது.

இவர் ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளைத் தரிசித்த அதே சமயம் இங்கே மாப்பிள்ளையை ஆபரேஷன் தியேட்டருக்கு எடுத்துச் சென்றுள்ளார்கள். அவர் கடந்த மூன்று நாட்களாக சிறுநீர் கழிக்காமல் இருப்பது மிக அபாயமாதலால் அதற்கான அறுவை சிகிச்சை செய்தாக வேண்டுமென்ற நிலை. அப்படி அதற்கான ஏற்பாடுகளுடன் தியேட்டருக்குள் கொண்டு சென்ற போது அவர் இயற்கையாகவே சிறுநீர் கழித்துள்ளார். அதனால் சர்ஜரி அவசியமில்லாமல் போய்விட்டது. கூடவே ஸ்ரீபெரியவா எங்கிருந்து கொண்டோ அதே சமயம் சர்வவியாபியாய் அபாயத்திலிருந்து மீண்டுவிட்டார் என்று சொன்ன வாக்கும் இவரை அந்த அபாயத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்றியுள்ளது.

இப்போது அவருடைய மருமகன் 62 வயதைத் தாண்டி நல்வாழ்வு வாழ்வது ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் பூர்ண அனுக்ரஹம் ஒன்றினால்தான் என்கிறார் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன்.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளிடம் இவருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட அந்த வித்யாசமான அனுபவம் ஒரு நாள் காலை ஐந்து மணிக்கு ஏற்பட்டது. ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மேனாவில் அமர்ந்து தரிசனம் நல்க, ஐந்தாறு பக்தர்கள் விஸ்வரூப தரிசனம் கிட்டிய ஆனந்தத்தோடு நின்றிருந்தனர்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவா, அருகில் நின்றிருந்த ஏகாம்பரம் எனும் கைங்கர்ய பாக்யம் பெற்றவரிடம் திரும்பி, ஸ்ரீநிவாசனைக்  காட்டி இவரைத் தெரிகிறதா என்று கேட்டார்.

ஸ்ரீ ஏகாம்பரம் “தெரியுமே. இவர் டில்லி ஸ்ரீநிவாச ஐயர்” என்று பதிலுரைத்தார்.

“அவ்வளவு தானா..….அதுக்கு மேலே இவரைப் பத்தி தெரியாதோ” என்றார் பெரியவா. ஏகாம்பரம் பதில் சொல்லவில்லை.

பின்பு ஸ்ரீமஹாபெரியவாளே, ஸ்ரீநிவாசனின் அவர்களின் குடும்ப விபரங்களை அங்கு கூடி நின்ற பக்தர்களிடம் சுமார் இருபது இருபத்தைந்து நிமிடங்கள் விவரமாக பேசினார். இவர் நல்ல வேதவித்தகரின் பிள்ளை என்றும், தந்தை சோமயாகம் செய்தவர் என்றும், இவரும் வேத அத்யயனம் முழுவதுமாகத் தேர்ந்தவர் என்றும் சிறப்பாக ஸ்ரீபெரியவா கூறியது இவருக்கு பெருமையாக இருந்தது.

ஆனால் அதன்பின் ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளின் சித்தம் போக்கு சிவம்போக்காக இவர் வேத பாரம்பரியத்தை காப்பாற்றாமல் போனதற்காக வருத்தப்படுவதாக மாறியது.

“இவரும் சோமயாகம் பண்ணுவார்னு தான் நெனச்சேன்…….ஆனா இவர் கடல் கடந்து அயல்நாடு போயிட்டு வந்தார்னு தெரிஞ்சதும் அந்த நம்பிக்கையை விட்டுட்டேன்” என்று வருத்தம் தோய்ந்த குரலில் ஸ்ரீபெரியவா சொன்னபோது ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு தர்ம சங்கடமாகிவிட்டது.

குரல் எடுபடாமல் “நான் சுற்றுலாத் துறையிலே வேலை செய்றதாலே அடிக்கடி அயல்நாடு போயிட்டு வர்ற நிர்பந்தம் ஆயிடுத்து” என்றார்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளோ அதை ஒப்புக் கொள்ள மறுப்பவர்போல தன் சிரத்தை ஆட்டினார். அதற்கும் மேலாக உறுதியுடன் அளவுடன் தன் திருவாக்கினால் ஒரே ஒரு தரம் கடலைத் தாண்டி அயல் தேசத்துக்குப் போனாலும் அவாளை பிராமணாளா எடுத்துக்கத் தகுதியில்லாம போறது என்றார்.

ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் மிகவும் நொந்துபோய் நின்றார். தெய்வத்தின் திருவாக்கினால் தான் பிராமணன் என்ற தகுதியை இழந்து விட்டோமே என்று அவர் மனம் மிகவும் வாட்டமுற்றது. உடனே ஸ்ரீபெரியவா சன்னதியிலிருந்து வெட்கத்துடன் விடுபட்டு வந்தார்.

பின் பல மாதங்களாக தன்னை ஸ்ரீபெரியவா இப்படிக் குறிப்பிட்டதை எண்ணி எண்ணி மனம் புழுங்கியபடி இருந்தார். இந்த சோகத்திற்கு பிராயசித்தம் தான் என்ன? அதே தெய்வத்திடம் போய் நிற்பதைத் தவிர வேறு வழி தெரியவில்லை மறுபடியும் ஒரு நாள் அதிகாலை விஸ்வரூப தரிசனத்திற்குச் செல்லும் பாக்யம் கிட்டியது.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவா அதேபோல் மேனாவில் அமர்ந்து காட்சிதர அருகே மேட்டூர் சுவாமிகள் எனும் பூர்வாஸ்ரம ஸ்ரீ ராஜகோபால் அவர்கள் நின்றுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் தான் ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளை தனிமையில் தரிசிக்க வேண்டுமென்று மேட்டூர் சுவாமிகளிடம் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

அதற்கு முதலில் ஸ்ரீபெரியவா ஒப்புக்கொள்ளவில்லை. இவர் மனமுடைந்து ஏமாற்றத்துடன் சற்றே விலகி நின்றார். ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளின் மனம் இதுபோன்ற பல சமயங்களில் இளகிப்போய் அரவணைக்கும். அப்போதும் அரைமணி நேரம் கழித்து இவரை ஸ்ரீபெரியவா கூப்பிட்டு சொல்ல வேண்டியதை சொல்லச் சொன்னார். இவர் விரும்பியபடியே அங்கு வேறு பக்தர்கள் யாருமில்லை.

ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை நமஸ்கரித்துவிட்டு முன்பு ஸ்ரீபெரியவா சொன்னதையெல்லாம் அப்படியே திரும்பவும் சுமார் இருபது நிமிடங்கள் விவரமாகக் கூறி தன்னை பிராமணன் தகுதியில்லாதவன் என்று குறிப்பிட்டதையும் சொல்லி முடித்தார்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவா அத்தனை நிமிடமும் குறுக்கிடாமல் கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். முடிவாக ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் தான் செய்த தவறுகளுக்காக மிகவும் வருந்துவதாகவும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கருணையுடன் தன்னை மன்னித்தருள வேண்டுமென்றும் அழுதபடி கூறினார். தான் திரும்பவும் பிராமணன் என்ற தகுதியை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அனுக்ரஹம் பெற்றுத்தர வேண்டுமென்று கண் கலங்கி வேண்டி நின்றார்.

அதுவோ கருணை பனிமலை பக்தரின் வேண்டுதல் எனும் உஷ்ணத்தினால் உருகாதிருக்குமா? உடனே உருகியது.

மிகவும் மெல்லிய குரலில் உறுதியாக தெய்வத்தின் திருவாக்கு வெளிப்பட்டது. “உன் தோஷமெல்லாம் இன்னியோட போயாச்சு. எல்லா பாவமும் விலகியாச்சு”

இதை ஒரு முறைக்கு, இரண்டு முறை ஸ்ரீபெரியவா திரும்பச் சொல்லி தன் அபார கருணையை வெளிப்படுத்தினார். தன் மனபாரம் எல்லாம் அகன்ற ஆனந்தத்தில் ஸ்ரீநிவாசன் கண்கள் குளமாக அந்த ஆனந்த நடராஜ அனுக்ரஹ மூர்த்தியின் மாபெரும் காருண்யத்தில் திளைத்தவராய் நமஸ்கரித்து பெரும் நிம்மதியும் சாந்தியுமாக விடைப்பெற்றார்.

முன்பு டாக்டர் கல்யாணராமனுக்கும் அந்த நைஜீரியா அன்பருக்கும் வெளிநாடு சென்று திரும்பியதற்கு ஸ்ரீபெரியவா அளித்த சலுகை ஸ்ரீநிவாசனுக்கு அளிக்கப்படாமல் சற்றுக் கடுமையாகவே கண்டிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. லௌகீக காரணங்களால் சென்று வருபவர்களைவிட வேதம் போற்றும் பராம்பரியத்தில் வந்தவர்களும் வெளிநாடு போய் வருவது ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் வேதநாயகருக்கு எப்பேற்பட்ட வேதனையைத் தரும் என்பதற்கு அவர் ஸ்ரீநிவாசனிடம் காட்டிய வன்மையே எடுத்துக்காட்டு. எல்லாவற்றையும் மீறி ஈசனின் பெருங்கருணை ஸ்ரீநிவாசனிடம் காட்டிய வன்மையே எடுத்துக்காட்டு. எல்லாவற்றையும் மீறி ஈசனின் பெருங்கருணை அனைத்து தோஷ பாபங்களையும் போக்க வல்லது என்பதையும் இந்த சம்பவம் உணர்த்துகிறது.

எங்கேயும் வியாபிக்கும் பேரருள்

பல வருடங்களுக்கு முன் ஒரு டாக்டருக்கு ஏற்பட்ட ஆபூர்வ அனுபவம் அவர் இந்திய ராணுவத்தில் மெடிக்கல் ஆபீஸராகப் பணியாற்றியவர். ஜப்பானை எதிர்த்து பர்மாவில் போர் நடந்தபோது அங்கே பாதிக்கப்பட்ட சிப்பாய்களுக்கு சிகிச்சை அளிக்கும் பணி புரிந்தார்.

அப்படி இவர் போர்க்களத்திலிருந்த சமயம் ஒரு குண்டு இவரையும் தாக்கியதில் மயக்கமுற்று விழுந்து விட்டார். நினைவின்றி விழுந்து கிடந்தவர் தான் ஒரு முதல் உதவி ஆஸ்பத்திரியில் படுத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பதை உணர்ந்தார். உடனே கீழ் வேலை செய்த ஒரு சிப்பாயிடம் என்ன நடந்தது என்று கேட்டார்.

அவனோ படிப்பறிவில்லாதவன். டாக்டருக்கு உதவி செய்ய அனுப்பப்பட்டவன். ஆனால் டாக்டர் மயக்கமடைந்து விழுந்ததும் நிலை குலைந்து நின்றுவிட்டான்.

என்ன செய்வதென்று புரியாமல் நின்று கொண்டிருந்தவன் முன் ஒரு சந்யாசி. காவி உடையுடன் தோன்றினாராம். “ஏன் இப்படி ஒண்ணும் செய்யாம நிக்கறே……உடனே டாக்டரை உன் தோளில் தூக்கிக் கொண்டு பக்கத்தில் இருக்கும் ஆஸ்பத்திரிக்கு ஓடு என்று சொல்லி மறைந்து விட்டாராம்.

உடனே ஒரு உத்வேகத்துடன் அந்த சிப்பாயும் டாக்டரை கொண்டுவந்து சேர்த்ததாக்க் கூறினான். ஏதோ படிப்பறில்லாதவன் கூறுகிறான் என்று டாக்டர் அலட்சியமாக இருந்துவிட்டார்.

சில மாதங்களில் இவர் பூர்ண குணமானார். போர் முடிந்ததும் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க வந்தார்.

ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளிடம் அந்த சிப்பாய் சொன்ன ஆபூர்வ நிகழ்ச்சியைக் கூறலாமென்று தோன்ற டாக்டர் மெதுவாக ஆரம்பித்தார். “எனக்கு போர்க்களத்திலே குண்டடி பட்டு மயக்கமா விழுந்துட்டேன்” என்று தொடங்கி மற்றவைகளை சொல்வதற்கு முன் சர்வ வியாபியான ஈஸ்வரே முந்திக் கொண்டவராய்,

“எனக்குத் தெரியுமே நானே அங்கு வந்திருந்தேனே……நீ என்னைப் பார்க்கலே” என்றதும் டாக்டருக்கு பெரும் திகைப்பு! அடடா! அந்த சிப்பாய் சொன்னது அத்தனையும் உண்மை என்பது புரிந்தது. எங்கும் நிறை பிரம்மமாய் ஸ்ரீமஹாபெரியவா வியாபித்தருளி தன்னைக் காப்பறியுள்ளதையும், அதை அந்த ஈஸ்வரரே சாட்சி சொல்லி மெய்ப்பித்து அருளியதையும் உணர்ந்து உருகினார்.

அந்த மிலிடரி டாக்டர் இந்த மெய்சிலிர்க்க வைக்கும் சம்பவத்தைக் கண்களில் நீர் வழிய விவரித்ததாக டாக்டர் கல்யாணராமன் கூறுகிறார்.

இப்பேற்பட்ட பெருங்கருணை தெய்வத்தின்மேல் நாம் கொள்ளும் பூர்ண சரணாகத பக்தி  நம்மையெல்லாம் சகல தோஷங்களிலிருந்து விடுபடச் செய்து எல்லா நலன்களையும் ஈந்து சகல சௌபாக்யங்களுடன், சர்வ மங்களங்களுடனும் காப்பாற்றி அருளும் என்பது சத்தியம்!

“All the Paapams (sins) are gone now”

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

The experience of Thiru Srinivasan is to very different and special. When the renowned neurologist, Sri Swaminathan went for Sri Periyava’s darshan, to find out about the atonement for his foreign trip as he was unable to visit Rameswaram, one more devotee who had travelled to Nigeria had come there with the same question. Sri Periyava had given some interesting information to the devotee who had returned from Nigeria. Sri Periyava had told that any person who fails to do his “Nithya karma Anushtanams” for three days continuously is supposed to perform atonement. Since any person who travels abroad might skip their anushtanams, they had understood it in that way. But the experience of Srinivasan in a way totally opposite to this.

He is the son of a famous Vedic Scholar called Brahmashree Swaminatha Deekshithar. He had performed many great yagnas and was eligible for receiving the title of “Somayaji”. Srinivasan had his first darshan of Sri Periyava at Melattur village in Thanjavur district along with his father.

Srinivasan had contributed in a major way to the Veda Sammelanam organized at Delhi by the Veda Dharma Shastra Paripalana Sabha. As the treasurer, he contributed to the successful completion of the Sammelanam. Due to this, he got an opportunity to be associated with various popular Vedic Scholars like Sri Annathurai Iyengar and Agnihotram Ramanuja Thathachariar.

During 1964, when he had come for Sri Periyava’s darshan, he explained about his contribution to the Vedas. Sri Periyava reminded him about his duties to the Vedas and said, “You belong to a great Vedic family; if you do not contribute, who else will come?”

During October 1984, his second son-in-law met with a major accident on his way to Bangalore. He was immediately admitted into a hospital in Chennai. He was in a very critical condition.

On hearing this news, Srinivasan started his travel from Delhi to Chennai. He was very worried and was praying continuously for his son-in-law’s recovery. He decided to have Sri Periyava’s darshan and seek His help. So he got down at Hyderabad on his way. On landing at Hyderabad airport, he went to Padma Rao nagar for Sri Periyava’s darshan. On reaching there, he found out that Sri Periyava has already moved to Ramachandrapuram, and proceeded to there. He was nervous all this time thinking about his son-in-law’s condition.

When he reached there, he found out that the Pooja was complete and Sri Periyava along with the other devotees were getting ready for travelling further. Even the Mena (Palanquin) was ready and Sri Periyava was already inside ready to start. As they lifted the Mena, Sri Periyava with His blessed vision, saw Srinivasan running towards the Mena with a worried face. Sri Periyava waved his hands signaling to bring the Mena down. On reaching the Mena, Srinivasan prostrated before Sri Periyava. As Srinivasan got up, Sri Periyava with His kind, soft voice said, “Did you know that your son-in-law is out of danger now?”

Srinivasan did not know how to respond. On hearing Sri Periyava’s words, he understood the seriousness of his son-in-law’s situation. He immediately started to Chennai from there.

Only on reaching the nursing home at Chennai, he was able to comprehend the kindness of Sri Periyava. Around the same time Srinivasan had Sri Periyava’s darshan, they had taken his son-in-law to the operation theater. He had not passed urine for the past three days and it was vital to perform a surgery to remove it. As they were wheeling him inside the operation theater, he passed it naturally and the surgery was not needed. It was during the same time, Sri Periyava had said that his son-in-law is out of danger. By saying these words, Sri Periyava had actually helped to bring his son-in-law out of the danger.  Now that the son-in-law is 62 years old and living happily, Srinivasan says that it is all due to the kindness of Sri Periyava.

This is another incident narrated by Srinivasan. It was 5 am and Srinivasan along with five or six other devotees were enjoying their Viswaroopa darshan outside Sri Periyava’s Mena. Sri Periyava pointing at Srinivasan, asked the Sippanthi Sri Ekambaram if he know who that was.

Ekambaram replied, “Yes I know, he is Delhi Srinivasa Iyer.” Sri Periyava continued, “Is that all you know, nothing more than that?” Ekambaram did not reply.

Sri Periyava continued to talk about Srinivasan’s family with the other devotees there for the next 20-25 minutes. He told about how Srinivasan’s father was a Vedic scholar and also had performed Soma Yagnam and that Srinivasan has also learned Vedas. Srinivasan felt proud when Sri Periyava had been talking about this. But all of a sudden, Sri Periyava started to express His sadness on Srinivasan not becoming a Vedic scholar.

Sri Periyava said, “I thought one day he will also perform Soma Yagnam. But when I came to know that he had crossed the ocean, I dropped that thought.” Srinivasan felt bad on hearing this. With a very soft tone, Srinivasan said, “Since I was working in the tourism department, I had to travel across the ocean.”

But Sri Periyava shook His head firmly and said that whoever has crossed the ocean even once will not be eligible to be considered as Brahmin. Srinivasan felt ashamed after hearing Sri Periyava’s comments that he is not eligible to be a Brahmin and slowly walked out of that place. For many months, he kept thinking about Sri Periyava’s statement. What is the remedy to this statement? Who else other than Sri Periyava can answer this question? Srinivasan was blessed with another Viswaroopa darshan of Sri Periyava.

Just like the other Viswaroopa darshan, Sri Periyava was sitting in the Mena on that particular day. Mettur Swamigal (Poorvasrama Sri Rajagopal) was also present there. Srinivasan requested to speak to Sri Periyava in private. Sri Periyava did not agree to it at first. Srinivasan took few steps back and stood there for some time. During these times, usually the kindness of Sri Periyava overflows. After half an hour, Sri Periyava called Srinivasan and asked him to tell what he had wanted to say. Just like how Srinivasan has wished, there were nobody else around there.

Srinivasan prostrated before Sri Periyava and told Him the discussion that happened on that day and how Sri Periyava had told that he was not eligible to be a Brahmin. Sri Periyava heard everything that Srinivasan had said without interrupting. Once Srinivasan completed, he also said that he is feeling sorry for the mistake and requested Sri Periyava to forgive him and accept him as Brahmin again. Will the snow hearted Sri Periyava’s heart not melt when a devotee prays earnestly? Sri Periyava with a very soft and kind voice said, “From today all your sins have been forgiven.” Sri Periyava repeated this one more time and showed His endless kindness. Srinivasan’s eyes were filled with tears. As he enjoyed the endless kindness of Sri Periyava, he prostrated one more time and with peace in his heart requested permission and left happily.

The kindness and exemption that were given to Dr. Kalyanaraman and the devotee who went to Nigeria did not happen in the case of Srinivasan. Even though Sri Periyava had shown some leniency towards people in the loukeekam way of life, this incident shows how Sri Periyava was upset when people belonging to Vedic family travel across the ocean. This incident not only show that, but also the extreme kindness of Sri Periyava towards His devotees.

Sri Periyava’s blessings is everywhere

This was a strange experience that happened to an army medical officer many years back. He was deployed at Burma during the war against Japan. He was attending to all the soldier’s there. In the war zone, once he was hit by a bomb and fell down unconscious. When he woke up, he found himself in a hospital. The doctor enquired a soldier working under him about what had happened.

The soldier was sent to help the doctor. He was not educated, and did not know what to do when the doctor fell down unconscious. As he stood there confused, a sanyasi wearing saffron colored robe appeared and said to the soldier, “Why are you standing like this? Carry the unconscious doctor to the nearby hospital.” The sanyasi later disappeared.

After hearing that the soldier’s mind was clear and he carried the doctor to the hospital. The doctor did not take this seriously and dismissed what the soldier had said. After few months, the doctor was completely cured. After the war was over, the doctor went for Sri Periyava’s darshan. The doctor wanted to narrate the incident that the soldier had told him to Sri Periyava. The doctor said, “I fell down unconscious after an attack.” Before he could complete, Sri Periyava interrupted and said, “I know what happened. I came there, didn’t you see me?” The doctor was surprised on knowing that whatever the soldier had said was true. The doctor realized how Sri Periyava is present everywhere and is taking care of His devotees. And Sri Periyava itself stood as a witness for this through this incident.

Dr. Kalyanaraman says that, the doctor’s eyes were filled with tears and gratitude as he narrated this incident.

With all the different kind blessings that Sri Periyava has bestowed upon His devotees, it is true that if we surrender at the feet of Periyava we will be blessed with health, wealth, peace and happiness.
