நடமாடும் தெய்வமாய் நம்மை உய்விக்க வந்தருளிய ஈஸ்வரர் தன் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் திருஅவதாரத்தில் சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் மேன்மையோடு திகழ்ந்துள்ளார்.

மாபெரும் தெய்வமாய் ஒரு மடாதிபதியாய்க் காட்டிக் கொண்டு பல அரும்பெரும் தொண்டுகளுக்கு வழிவகுத்ததோடுமல்லாது  அவர்தம் கருணை எங்கும் வியாபித்தருளியது ஒரு பக்கமிருந்தாலும் அவையாவும் எந்த தேசக் கட்டுப்பாடுகளையும் மீறியதாக இல்லாமலும் அமைந்திருந்ததும் விசேஷம். தான் ஒரு பிரஜையாக இருப்பதால் அந்த தேச சட்டதிட்டங்களுக்கும் கொள்கைகளுக்கும் உட்பட்டதாகவே தன் காருண்யத்தையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வம் கட்டுபடுத்தியதுபோல் அபூர்வ நிகழ்வுகள் பலரது அனுபவமாகின்றன.

ஸ்ரீ மடத்தில் கைங்கர்யம் செய்து மகானுடைய அனுக்ரஹத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ள ஒரு அன்பர் ‘மஹானின் ஒரு பக்தர்’ என்று தன் பெயரைத் தெரிவிக்காமல் எழுதியுள்ள ஒரு புத்தகத்தில் தன் அனுபவத்தைப் பின்வருமாறு கூறுகின்றார்.

காஞ்சியில் எல்லப்ப முதலியார் என்ற வயது முதிர்ந்த காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் முனிசிபல் சேர்மனாகவும், ஏகாம்பரநாதர் கோயில் டிரஸ்டியாகவும் இருந்து தனது காலத்தில் ஏகாம்பரநாதருக்கு அவரது சமூகத்தினர் மூலம் பெரிய வெள்ளித்தேர் செய்து வழங்கியிருந்தார். ஒரு வருடம் அவரது தலைமையில் காஞ்சியில் சிற்ப சதஸ் நடந்தது. அவ்வப்போது அவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிப்பதுண்டு.

ஒரு சமயம் அவரது குடும்பத்தில் வியாபாரங்கள் நொடிந்து கடன் பளு அதிகரித்து விட்டது. அவருக்குக் காஞ்சி ரயில்வே ஸ்டேஷன் அடுத்த வையாவூர் என்ற கிராமத்தில் நிலங்கள் இருந்தன. அவைகளை விற்றுக் கடனை அடைக்கலாமென்று முயற்சி செய்தார்.

அந்த நிலங்களுக்கு எதிரே உள்ள டவுன் முனிசிபாலிடிக்கு சொந்தமான இடத்தில் தினசரி நகரத்தில் சேரும் குப்பைகளையும் மற்ற கழிவுப் பொருட்களையும் கொட்டி எரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்தனர். அங்கு மக்கள் செல்லவே சிரமப்பட்டனர். இதனால் இவருடைய நிலத்தை வாங்க யாரும் முன்வரவில்லை.

இந்தக் குறையினை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் முறையிட்டு அதற்கான ஒரு மனுவைக் கொடுத்து அதை ஸ்ரீமடத்தின் மூலம் அரசாங்கத்திற்கு சிபாரிசு செய்து குப்பைகளை ஊருக்கு வெளியே வேறு எங்காவது கொட்டுமாறு ஏற்பாடு செய்யக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

அந்நேரம் தமிழ்நாட்டில் எமர்ஜென்ஸி கட்டுப்பாடு விதிக்கப்பட்டு கவர்னர் ஆட்சியின் கீழ் நிர்வாகம் மூன்று ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் அதிகாரிகளால் நேரடி கண்காணிப்பு செய்யப்பட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தது.

அவர்களில் திரு. ராமகிருஷ்ணா என்ற அதிகாரி ஆந்திர தேசத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர். அவர் அடிக்கடி ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசனத்திற்கு வருவதுண்டு. அப்படி அவர் ஒருமுறை வந்தபோது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அவரிடம் திரு. எல்லப்ப முதலியார் கொடுத்திருந்த மனுவைத் தந்து அதற்கு முடிந்த மட்டும் உதவி செய்யுமாறு கேட்டுக் கொண்டார். அவரும் தம்மாலான உதவிகளை செய்வதாகக் கூறி பெற்றுக் கொண்டார்.

அதோடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் கருணை நின்று விடவில்லை. எமர்ஜென்ஸி காலங்களில் இப்படிப்பட்ட சிபாரிசுகளுக்கு யாரும் இடம் தந்து பிரத்யேகமாக காரியங்களை சாதிக்க இயலாது என்பது தெரிந்திருந்தும், இப்படி தனிப்பட்ட ஒருவருடைய கோரிக்கைக்காகத் தன்னைத் தரிசிக்க வரும் அரசாங்க அதிகாரியிடம் சிபாரிசு செய்வதுகூட சரியல்ல என்பதையெல்லாம் கூட மீறி தன்னிடம் முறையிடப்பட்டதற்காக மட்டுமே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அந்த தர்மங்களையும் கடந்த கருணையினால் இதற்கு முயன்று கொண்டிருந்தார்.

அடிக்கடி சீனு என்பவரைச் சென்னைக்கு அனுப்பி திரு.ராமகிருஷ்ணா அவர்களைப் பார்த்து மனு கோரிக்கையின் பேரில் அதை துரிதப்படுத்தும்படி சொல்லிவிட்டு வரச் செய்தார். திரு.ராமகிருஷ்ணாவும் உயர்அதிகாரிகள் மூலம் அந்தக் கோப்பை காஞ்சி நகராட்சி நிர்வாகத்திற்கு அனுப்பி வைத்து துரிதமாக நிவாரணம் செய்யுமாறு பணித்தார்.

ஆனால் இந்த பிரச்சனைக்கு இதற்கு மேலும் முயற்சிப்பது தன் பதவிக்கு நல்லதல்ல என்றும், அது ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட கட்சிக்காக தான் செயல்படுவதாக அவதூறு எழும் வகையில் அமையும் என்பதையும் வருத்தத்தோடு கூறினார்.

எல்லப்ப முதலியார் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் மூத்த தலைவர் காஞ்சி நகராட்சி நிர்வாகம் காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியின் எதிர்கட்சியாக ஒரு கட்சியின் கையில் இருந்தது. அவர்கள் நகராட்சி கூட்டத்தில் தீர்மானம் போட்டபின் தான் குப்பையைக் கொட்ட வேறு இடத்தை தேர்வு செய்ய முடியுமென்ற நிலை. எல்லப்ப முதலியார் மாற்றுக் கட்சியை சார்ந்தவர் என்பதால் அந்தக் கோரிக்கை நிறைவேறுமா என்பது சந்தேகம்.

இருந்தாலும் ஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவர்களின் கருணை இதற்காக முயற்சிக்காமல் நின்றுவிடவில்லை. தன்னிடம் வைக்கப்பட்ட கோரிக்கைக்கு நேர்மையான அரசாங்க சட்டதிட்டங்களின் வழியே தீர்வு காண என்னவெல்லாம் செய்யலாமோ அத்தனையும் செய்ய அந்தக் காருண்யம் தயங்கவில்லை.

மடத்தின் அருகே குடியிருந்த நகராட்சி தலைவரான திரு. ராஜமாணிக்கம் என்பவரை அவருக்கு வேண்டிய ஒரு குருக்கள் மூலமாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வரவழைத்தார். அவரிடம் விபரங்களை சொல்லி, முடிந்த உதவிகளை செய்யும்படி கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

அதற்கு திரு. ராஜமாணிக்கம் தனக்கு அதில் ஒன்றும் ஆட்சேபணை இல்லையென்றும், ஆனால் நகராட்சி கவுன்சிலர்கள் முழுவதும் கூடவே கூடாது என்று அந்தக் கோப்பிற்கு எதிரிடையாக செயல்படுகிறார்களென்றும் கூறினார். அதற்கு காரணம் முதலியார் சார்ந்த கட்சி கடந்த தேர்தலில் திரு. அண்ணாதுரை அவர்களைத் தோல்வியடையச் செய்தனர். அதற்கு முன்நின்று செயல்பட்டவர் எல்லப்ப முதலியார் என்பதால் அவருக்கு எதிராகத்தான் கோப்பின் மேல் அவர்களின் அபிப்ராயம் இருக்கின்றது. அதையும் மீறி தான் ஏதாவது நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க முற்பட்டால் தன்னையே விலக்கி விடுவார்கள் என்று வருத்தப்பட்டுக் கூறிவிட்டு அகன்றார்.

அப்படியும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா விடாமல் திரு. சீனுவை அந்த ஐ.ஏ.எஸ் அதிகாரியிடம் அடிக்கடி அனுப்பி முயற்சிக்க, இறுதியாக அவரும் தான் அதிகமாக ஈடுபட இயலாது என்று வருத்தப்பட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

தன்னிடம் ஒருவர் சரணடைந்து ஒரு கோரிக்கையை வைத்ததற்காக ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வம் தன் பராக்கிரம சக்திகளைக் காட்டாமல் அதை நிறைவேற்றிக் கொடுத்த முயற்சிகளை சலிக்காது தொடர்ந்து அதே சமயம் வழிமுறைகளையெல்லாம் மீறாத வகையில் அது நடந்தேற எப்படியெல்லாம் சிரத்தை காட்டுகிறார் என்பதை இந்த விவகாரத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கட்டளையின்பேரில் அடிக்கடி சென்று வந்த திரு. சீனு வியப்பாக சொல்கிறார்.

தாம் நினைத்தால் அந்த க்ஷணமே ராவணனை அழிக்கும் சர்வ வல்லமை பெற்றிருந்தும் ஸ்ரீராமர் எப்படி ஒரு சாதாரண மனித உருவில் அதற்கான விதிமுறைகளிலேயே ராவணனை எதிர் கொண்டாரோ, அதுபோல தன் எல்லையில்லா வல்லமையினால் எதையும் சாதிக்கும் நிலையிலிருந்தும் ஒரு சிறு நகராட்சி கட்டுப்பாடுகளுக்கும், சட்ட திட்டங்களுக்கும் உட்பட்டு அப்பாற்பட்டதாய் மீறும்படி அனுக்ரஹித்தல் தர்மமாகாது என்பதற்காகவே ஒரு சாதாரண பிரஜை அதற்காக எப்படியெல்லாம் செயல்பட்டு முயற்சி செய்வாரோ அதே ரீதியில் ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளெனும் மாபெரும் தெய்வம் செயல்பட்ட எளிமையை எப்படி வியப்பது? இதை ஸ்ரீ ராம தர்மம் என்றுகூட கூறலாமோ?

திரு. எல்லப்ப முதலியாருக்கு அந்த நிலம் எதைக் கொடுத்ததோ தெரியவில்லை. ஆனால், மாபெரும் சொத்தான ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடத்தில் பக்தி எனும் பொக்கிஷத்தைக் கொடுத்துவிட்டது. தன் 80வது பிறந்த நாளுக்கு வசதியில்லாத நிலையில் எதையும் செய்துக் கொள்ளாமல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தரிசனம் மட்டுமே போதும் என்றபடி வந்து வணங்கி சென்றார்.

மறுநாள் பக்தர் சீனு மூலம் நல்ல பட்டு வேஷ்டி, புடவை, ஒரு மாங்கல்யம், பழங்கள் என ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாள் அவருக்கு கொடுத்தனுப்ப இதைவிட வேறு எது வேண்டுமென்று திரு. எல்லப்ப முதலியாருக்கு பேரானந்தம் ஏற்பட்டது.

எப்படியும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும் தெய்வம்.

பங்காரு அம்மன் தோட்டம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் திருக்கோயிலின் மாத அனுஷ புண்ணிய தின கொண்டாட்டங்களில் கைங்கர்யம் செய்து  கலந்து கொண்ட திரு. ராஜாராமன் அங்கிருந்து கிளம்பி  சென்னை செல்ல வேண்டும்.

இரவு சுவாமி புறப்பாடு முடிந்து எல்லோரும் செல்ல மணி பத்தாகிவிடும். அவரவர்கள் அவசரமாக கார், பஸ் என்று பிடித்துச் சென்னை  செல்ல பரபரப்பார்கள். ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் பெருங் கருணையினால் எல்லோருக்கும் வசதியாக பஸ்ஸோ, காரோ கிடைத்து ஊர் போய் சேர்வதில் சிரமம் ஏற்படாது. இருந்தாலும் பத்து மணிக்குமேல் புறப்படும்போது ஒரு அவசரம் தென்படும்.

இப்படி ஒரு அவசரத்தில் திரு.ராஜாராம் தன் நண்பர்கள் சிலருடன் கோயிலைவிட்டு வெளியே வந்தார். மடமடவென சட்டையை அணிந்து தெருவைத் தாண்டும்போது எதிரே அந்தப் பூக்காரி வந்தாள். அந்தப் பூக்காரி தான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கோயிலுக்குப் பூமாலையும் புறப்பாட்டிற்கான அத்தனை புஷ்பங்களையும் கொடுப்பவள்.

அனுஷ கைங்கர்யங்கள் பலவகைகளில் செய்துவரும் ராஜாரமனுக்கு இந்தப் பூக்காரிக்கு பணபட்டுவாடா செய்வதும் வழக்கமாகியிருந்தது. மாதாமாதம் இவளிடமிருந்து வீட்டில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பூஜைக்காக பூக்களையும் வாங்கிச் செல்வார். ஆனால் அன்று கிளம்பவே வெகு நேரமாகிவிட்டால் எதிரே வந்த பூக்காரியைக் கவனிக்ககூட இயலாமல் அவர் பறந்து கொண்டிருந்தார். சென்னைக்கு காலாகாலத்தில் போய்ச்சேர பஸ் பிடித்தாக வேண்டுமென்ற கவலை.

அப்படி ஓடிக் கொண்டிருந்தவரை பூக்காரி இடைமறித்தாள். “வூட்டுக்கு பூ வாங்கிட்டு போவலையா?” என்று ஞாபகப்படுத்திப் பூக்களைக் கொடுத்தாள். ராஜாராம் “சரிசரி இந்தா” என்று அதற்கான காசை கொடுத்துவிட்டு விடுபடுவதிலேயே முனைப்பாக இருந்தார்.

“சாமி ரெண்டு பெரிய மாலைக் கீது! பெரியவாளுக்கு உன் கையிலே வாங்கிக் கொடேன். ஒத்தர் சொன்னார்னு கட்டிட்டு வந்துட்டேன். அவரு கெளம்பி பூட்டாரு போல கீது…… ..நீ கொடுக்கறதைக் கொடு வாங்கிக்கறேன்” என்று மிக பெரிதான இரண்டு மாலைகளைக் கையில் எடுத்தபடி கெஞ்சுவதுபோல் கேட்டாள். ராஜாராமனுக்கோ இரண்டு மனம். நேரம் கெட்ட நேரத்தில் பூக்காரி இப்படி இக்கட்டாக தர்ம சங்கடப்படுத்துகிறாளே என்றும் அதே சமயம் வலியவந்து வெறும் நூறு ரூபாய்க்கு இரண்டு மாலையைக் கொடுக்கிறாளே என்றுமிருந்தது.

பூக்காரியை மனதில் திட்டியபடி அந்த மாலைகளை வாங்கிக் கொண்டு அதனை அடுத்தநாள் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு சார்த்த மறுபடியும் கோயில் உள்ளே செல்ல சட்டையைக் கழற்றி, உரியவரிடம் ஒப்படைத்து என எல்லாமுமே பரபரப்பாக செய்துவிட்டு ஓட்டம் பிடிக்க வேண்டிய நிர்பந்தம்.

இப்படி ஒரு நிர்பந்தம் ஏற்பட்டும் திரு. ராஜாராம் மனதில் ஒன்று மட்டும் நினைவிற்கே வரவில்லை. வலிய ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளுக்கு இரண்டு மாலைகளை வாங்கித் தருகிறாரே அப்போதாவது அந்த ஞாபகம் ஒளிவிட வேண்டாமா? அதுதான் இல்லை. அத்தனை மறதி அவருக்கு.

அடுத்த நாள் மதியம் அவர் செல் ஒலிக்கிறது. அதை எடுத்தவருக்கு அதில் பெயரைப் பார்த்ததும் பளீரென்று ஞாபகம் வருகின்றது. போனில் மறுமுனையில் அன்பர் தழுதழுக்கப் பேசுகிறார்.

“ஸார்….ரொம்ப நன்றி! அப்பா இப்போ டிஸ்சார்ஜ் ஆயிட்டு வந்துட்டார். பெரிய ஆபரேஷன், எல்லோரும் பயந்தோம். அதனாலேதான் நேத்து உங்ககிட்டே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு ரெண்டு மாலை வாங்கி சார்த்துங்கோன்னு போன் செஞ்சோம். நீங்க அங்கே சாத்தியிருப்பீங்க…… இங்கே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கருணையால அப்பாவுக்கு நல்லபடியா ஆபரேஷன் ஆகி நல்லபடியா வீட்டுக்கு வந்துட்டார். ரொம்ப தேங்க்ஸ்”

இப்படி அந்த நபர் பேசப் பேச ராஜாராமனுக்கு கண்ணில் நீர் முட்டியது. அப்பேற்பட்ட அபாரக் கருணை தெய்வம் இந்த பெரியவா என நினைத்துக் கொண்டார். தனக்கு அனுஷ தின மதிய வேளையில் போன் மூலம் தெரிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்த இரட்டை மாலைக் கோரிக்கையை தான் முற்றிலும் மறந்துவிட்ட நிலையிலும், தனக்கு எந்தவித தர்மசங்கடமும் இந்த மறதியால் ஏற்பட்டு விடக்கூடாதே என்று நினைத்தோ அல்லது மாலைகளைச் சார்த்தும்படி சொன்ன பக்தருக்கு வலிய அனுக்ரஹம் செய்ய வேண்டுமென்றோ ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் லீலா வினோதம் எப்படியெல்லாம் அதை அனுக்ரஹித்துள்ளது என்பதை நினைக்க நினைக்க இவர் உடல் சிலிர்த்தது!

இப்படி ஒரு அனுக்ரஹ தெய்வம் அருளும்போது அத்தெய்வத்தை பற்றிக் கொண்டால் எல்லா நன்மைகளும், ஐஸ்வர்யங்களும், மங்களங்களையும் அத்தெய்வம் வாரி வழங்குமென்பதில் ஐயம் உண்டோ!

“Shri Rama Dharma”

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

Even though Periyava had performed a lot of divine plays/blessings, lots of beneficial acts for the masses as the head of Srimatam, none of these violated the laws of the government. There are multiple incidents where Periyava had showed how He had always acted like a good citizen and followed all the laws of the local governing bodies.

This is an incident narrated by a devotee, who was lucky enough to serve Periyava at Srimatam and who wanted to remain anonymous.

Ellappa Mudaliar was an old leader of the Congress. He lived at Kanchipuram and had also served as the Municipal Chairman and also as a trustee of Shri Ekambareswarar temple.  He had helped immensely in building a silver chariot for the temple. He had also conducted an Architectural Sadas (for various sculptors) at Kanchipuram. He also had darshan of Periyava occasionally.

Once, his family suffered a huge loss in their business and they owed a lot of money. So he wanted to sell the land he had owned at a village called Vaiyavoor near Kanchipuram railway station. The land opposite to his property belonged to the Municipality and they were used to burn the local garbage daily. Due to this, nobody was interested in buying his property.

He informed about this problem to Periyava and requested Him to submit a petition to the Government on his behalf to move the garbage dumping outside of the city. It was during the time of emergency at Tamilnadu. The governor along with three IAS officers were responsible for running the state. Shri Ramakrishna was one of those officers. He was from Andhra Pradesh and would come for Periyava’s darshan many times. When he had come for darshan, Periyava gave him the petition from Ellappa Mudaliar and asked to take any proper necessary action. He also informed Periyava that he will do all the help for that petition.

Periyava’s kindness did not stop there. He very well knew that there was an emergency situation in the Government during that time and it was not a good practice to request for special help during that time. But Periyava mentioned that is only to help Ellappa Mudaliar that He had requested Shri Ramakrishna for this help.

Periyava also made sure to follow-up with Ramakrishna about the request. He used to send Seenu to Chennai to find about the progress. Ramakrishna with the help of his seniors had sent instructions to the Kanchipuram city officials to take action on the petition.

Ramakrishna also told that he will not be able to anything more on this matter, because it will look like he is working for a particular party and that might not be right for his designation. Ellappa Mudaliar was one of the old member of the congress party and the people running the Kanchipuram municipality belonged to another party that was against Congress. So it was doubtful if his request will be approved.

But Periyava’s kindness did not stop there. He was looking for some solution to this problem that would be possible and will also be bound by the laws. Through a temple priest, Periyava asked the city municipal chief Shri Rajamanickam to meet Him. He then explained the details of the petition and asked him to help in the case. Rajamanickam replied that he did not have any objection to that, but all the councilors are against it. This was because, in the previous elections, congress had defeated Shri Annadurai. The councilors were of the opinion that Ellappa Mudaliar was responsible for this. Rajamanickam also informed that, if he still goes against the councilors on this, he might also be removed from his post.

Periyava still continued the effort by sending Seenu to talk to the IAS officer. He also said that he had done all that could be done and will not be able to do anything more than that.

Shri Seenu explains how to help a devotee, Periyava without any divine play, kept trying effortlessly, without breaking or taking advantage of any laws. Even though Lord Rama could destroy Ravana effortlessly, still He took the form of human and fought Ravana following all the rules that were laid. Similarly, Periyava with all his powers, still He followed the rules of the city municipality and tried to resolve this problem like any other person. Shouldn’t we call this as Shri Rama dharma too?

We do not know what Shri Ellappa Mudaliar achieved with his lands, but it definitely gave him a bigger gift in the form of devotion/bhakti to Periyava. He also decided to celebrate his 80^th birthday by having darshan of Periyava.

The following day, Periyava sent silk dhoti, saree, mangalyam and fruits to him through Seenu. Shri Ellappa Mudaliar was overjoyed. What else does one need other than Periyava’s blessings?

God who helps devotees do their offering

Shri Rajaraman, who had gone to Bangaru gardens for helping in the monthly Anusham celebrations had to return back to Chennai. It will be almost 10 pm when all the celebrations are over. Everyone will be hurrying to get back in either car or bus. Even though they will all safely and comfortably reach their destinations, everyone will still be hurrying around.

Rajaraman came out of the temple with some of his friends in a hurry. He quickly wore his shirt and tried to cross the road. The lady flower seller who provides all the flowers for the celebration came in the opposite direction.

One of Rajaraman’s duties in the Anusham celebration was to pay this flower seller and get the flowers. Every month, he will also get some flowers from her for Periyava Pooja at his home. On this particular day, since he was getting late, he failed to notice her and was hurrying up to catch the bus to reach home on time. The lady stopped him and asked if he is not going to get flowers for his home. Rajaraman quickly got the flowers and paid her. He was more interested in getting back home quickly on that day.

The lady continued, “I have two big garlands with me. Why don’t you buy them for Periyava? Somebody asked me to get this, but they have already left. I want this to be sold. Please give whatever you can and buy them.” Rajaraman did not know what needs to be done. He was in a hurry and did not want to waste time explaining her anything. He also felt that she is giving two garlands for only 100 rupees. He scolded her in his mind and bought the garlands from her. He had to remove his shirt and get back in the temple and give the garlands to the right person and that is when he can start back.

Rajaraman was in so much hurry that he had completely forgotten it. Even when the lady asked him to buy the two garlands, he did not remember it. He remembered it only after he got the call from that person on the following afternoon.

As he picked the phone, the other person on the line said, “Thank you so much. My father has been discharged. It was really a tough and long operation, but by Periyava’s grace he made it through. I had asked you to offer two garlands to Periyava. I know you would have done that. By Periyava’s grace my father is also back home after the operation. Thank you once again.”

As the person was speaking, tears started flowing down in Rajaraman’s eyes. Periyava is indeed the kind God that we know. Rajaraman had got the call on the afternoon of Anusham celebration to offer two garlands to Periyava and with all the other celebration activities, he had totally forgotten about it. Be it to rescue Rajaraman from the embarrassment of forgetting to offer the garlands or to bless the devotee who had called Rajaraman voluntarily, the divine acts of Periyava gives goosebumps to everyone.

It is true that if we surrender at the feet of Periyava we will be blessed with health, wealth, peace and happiness.

Grace will continues to grow.
