எனக்கு அப்போது இளவயஸு. ப்ரொஃபஸர் ராமமூர்த்தி என்று ஒருத்தர் இருந்தார். ராமமூர்த்தி ஸாண்டோ என்றே சொல்வார்கள். தெலுங்கர். ஸர்க்கஸ் கம்பெனி நடத்திவந்தார். நடத்தினது மட்டுமில்லை, அவரே ஸாண்டோவானதால் ஆச்சரியமான feats பண்ணிக் காட்டுவார். ஒன்று சொல்கிறேன்: தன் இடுப்பைச் சுற்றிப் பக்கத்துக்கு ஒன்றாக ஒரு Ford காரைக் கயிற்றால் கட்டிக் கொண்டு, இரண்டின் என்ஜினையும் ஸ்டார்ட் பண்ணிவிடுவார். அப்படியே இரண்டுமாக அவரை நசுக்கித் தொகையல் பண்ணிவிடுமோ என்று ஜனங்கள் பிரமித்துப் பார்ப்பார்களாம். மநுஷ்யரானால் கொஞ்சங் கூட அலட்டிக் கொள்ளாமல், அந்த இரண்டு காரையும் இரண்டு உள்ளங்கையாலேயே மறித்துக் கொண்டு அவை ஓட முடியாதபடி நிறுத்தி வைத்திருப்பாராம். அவருடைய கம்பெனி கும்பகோணத்தில் ‘காம்ப்’ பண்ணியிருந்தபோது நான் வந்து ஸர்க்கஸ் பார்க்கவேண்டுமென்று ரொம்பவும் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார். மடத்தில் அப்படி ஸம்பிரதாயமில்லையென்று சொன்னதும், மடத்துக்குப் பின்னாடி விஸ்தாரமாக பூமி உண்டு, அங்கே தன் கோஷ்டியில் சில பேரோடு வந்து சில ‘ஸர்க்கஸ் அயிட்டங்’களைப் பண்ணிக் காட்டினார். இப்படியும் ஒரு தேஹ பலமுண்டா என்று ஆச்சரியமாயிருந்தது. அவர் கதை எதற்குச் சொல்கிறேனென்றால் இப்படிப்பட்ட பலிஷ்டர் சுத்த வெஜிடேரியனாக இருந்தவர் என்பதற்காகத்தான். மஹா பலிஷ்டரான ஆஞ்ஜநேயரே சாகபோஜனியான வானரம்தானே? – ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ சந்திரசேகரேந்திர சரஸ்வதி ஸ்வாமிகள்

During my younger days there was a person by name Professor Ramamurthy. They used to call him Ramamoorthy Sando. He spoke Telugu and owned a Circus company. Not only did he own the company, he also performed amazing feats as he was Sando (a very strong person). I will tell you an incident. He used to have two Ford Cars, one tied to each side of his hip and start the engines of both the cars. People would be scared if those cars would run over him and if he would be crushed. But he nonchalantly used to block these cars with both hands (palms) and stop them from moving. When his circus company was camping in Kumbakonam he requested me to come and see the circus. When told it was not the Sri Matham Sampradaya [for the Acharya to visit the circus], he arranged for a small show behind the Sri Matham where we had a lot of space and performed a few items there. I was surprised by his physical power during those performances. The reason why I’m telling this story is to make us aware that this powerful person was a pure vegetarian.
