SriMaheshji, this video clip on the printing of the holy Ramayana evoked a thought. If it is not appropriate at all, or not appropriate for this post, please do as think proper.
One of the aims of Mahaperiyava’s devotees is Veda-prachara, samrakshanam; ditto, gomata. gAmiti ement vedalakShaNAm !!
A few days ago, received an email intimating the sale of a property formerly the site of an ashram in Napa Valley that now has moved to Yuba City, California.
The site has several buildings on 40 acres of land, with own spring water, important in arid Napa Valley, prone to forest fires solely due to human intransigence and mismanagement. Nothing else. No danger of fire if simple rules of forest management are obeyed, which involve yearly controlled burning of dry rush under professional supervision When this is neglected, we see the gigantic crown fires, and all the hoopla associated with them.
All purely unnecessary, since the annual burnings are very small, consuming the small amount of dry litter produced for that season. Hence also the need for professional supervision. I am writing all this in case people think Napa Valley is a high-risk zone, not worth getting into. Situated within 40 acres, one will be creating one’s own fire break with proven forestry methods.
Attached below is the message i received along with photos .
It seemed to me that eventually a VEDARANYAM could become established here, possibly based on the CCVV model, but with much wider scope.
Inviting the public, Indians and others to participate, creating short-stay summer camps, to study various aspects of Sanatana Dharma, including proper care of a few gomata, etc. Details can be decided if the main idea is accepted.
Surely there are enough Indians, especially Tamils, in northern California, who could find value in such a spiritual retreat founded in the holy Name and based on the principles of Mahaperiyava? Of what use are all their earnings if their children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren become transformed into tru yavanas? Is that a price they are prepared to accept for their present prosperity? Body of the email follows:
With humble prostration to Holy Mahaperiyava and to all devotees,
gautam
[Namaste Dear Friends and Family,
There are so many things happening in the Devi Mandir, we want to share our news with all of you.
Shree Maa is currently in India, performing Navaratri in Kamakhya, while I have been camping in a hospital in Southern California, assisting my 99 year old mother who had a fall.
Shree Maa will return to the Yuba City Ashram in mid April, and we have completed repairs and maintenance at the Napa Ashram, and have just put it up for sale.
Michael Crain is handling the sale for us, and if you know anyone who might be interested in the property, you can contact him at
email: michael@vineyardadvisors.com, Tel: 707-938-9899, Cell: 707-815-6290.
Click here to see the small website designed to show the property, and most of you know the history of the different kinds of pujas and yajnas we performed during the almost thirty years we lived there.
Because we are frequently traveling between the Napa Ashram, the Yuba City Ashram, and our Fairfield house, we have a new business mailing address:
Temple of the Divine Mother, Inc.
