சுகப்பிரம்ம ஞானியின் உயரிய நிலையோடு நம்மிடையே மிக எளிமையோடு அப்பேற்பட்ட மேன்மையை வெளிக்காட்டாமல் நம்மை உய்விக்க திரு அவதாரம் செய்து ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளெனும் தூய துறவியாய் அருளியிருப்பது சாட்சாத் சர்வேஸ்வரரேயாகும்.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வத்தின் குரலை திரு. ரா. கணபதி அவர்கள் எழுத அவைகளை புத்தகவடிவாக தொகுத்துப் பிரசுரம் செய்யும் பாக்யம் பெற்ற திரு. வானதி திருநாவுக்கரசு இப்பேற்பட்ட அரிய சந்தர்ப்பம் தனக்குக் கிட்டிய சம்பவத்தை விளக்குகிறார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளை இவர் முதன்முதலில் தரிசனம் செய்தது 1961 ஆம் வருடமாகும். திருநாவுக்கரசு தன் நண்பரான நடராஜன் எழுதிய மகாபாரதம் உரைநடை நூலுக்காக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் ஸ்ரீ முகம் (ஆசி கூறி முன்னுரை எழுதுவது) வாங்க விரும்பினார். கண்ணன் எனும் சிறுவர் மாத இதழின் ஆசிரியரான எழுத்தாளர் ஆர்.வி. என்பவருடன் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசித்து இதுபற்றி கேட்க மதுரை சேதுபதி உயர்நிலைப் பள்ளியில் முகாமிட்டிருந்த மகானிடம் சென்றார்.

இவருடன் புத்தகத்தை எழுதிய நடராஜன் மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர் ஆர்.வி. யும் சென்றனர். அப்போது காலை ஒன்பது மணி. பெரும் பக்தர்கள் கூட்டம் அங்கே நிறைந்திருந்தது. எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் ‘ஹரஹர சங்கர ஜய ஜய சங்கர’ கோஷமிட்டபடி கூடியிருந்த சுமார் ஐயாயிரம் பக்தர்களின் நடுவே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இவர்களை கவனிக்க முடியுமோ என்ற சந்தேகம் தான்.

எப்படியோ ஆர்.வி. அவர்களின் ஏற்பாட்டில் நடராஜன் எழுதிய ‘வியாசர் அருளிய மகாபாரதம்’ என்ற நூலை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பித்து அந்நூலுக்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஸ்ரீமுகம் அருள வேண்டுமென விண்ணப்பித்தனர்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடமிருந்து என்ன பதில் வரப்போகிறதோ என்று தயங்கியபடி நின்றவர்கள் “ஸ்ரீ முகம் இன்னிக்கே அனுக்ரஹம் பண்ணனும்; மெட்ராஸிலேர்ந்து இதுக்காகவே பொறப்பட்டு வந்திருக்கோம்” என்று ஆர்.வி. பவ்யமாக வேண்டினார்.

“அப்படியா?” என்று புன்முறுவல் பூத்த மகான் “கொஞ்சம் காத்திண்டிருக்கேளா? பூஜை எல்லாம் ஆகட்டும்” எங்கிற மாதிரி ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சைகைக் காட்டினார். ஆக்ஞைப்படியே இவர்கள் காத்திருந்தனர்.

சாயங்காலம் ஆறுமணி இருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ மடத்து சிப்பந்தி ஒருவர் “திருநாவுக்கரசு, திருநாவுக்கரசுன்னு யார் இங்கே;  ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கூப்பிடுறா” என்று வெளியே வந்து தேட திருநாவுக்கரசுக்குத் தூக்கிவாரிப் போட்டது.

முதலில் அழைப்பது தன்னையா இல்லை வேறு யாரோவையா என்று தான் திருநாவுக்கரசு நினைத்தார். ஏனென்றால் காலையில் அத்தனை பெரிய கூட்டத்தில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் இந்த நூலை சமர்ப்பித்த போது தன்னைப் பற்றி தகவல் சொல்லவே நேரமில்லை. அப்படியே அந்த விபரங்களை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்டிருந்தாலும், ஸ்ரீ மடத்திற்கு ஏற்கனவே பரிச்சயமான எழுத்தாளர் ஆர்.வி. அவர்களையோ அல்லது சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட்ட புத்தகத்தை எழுதிய திரு. நடராஜன் அவர்களையோ கூப்பிடாமல் தன்னைக் குறிப்பிட்டு கூப்பிட்டதில் இவருக்கு மெய்சிலிர்த்தது.

அங்கே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் இவரை அழைத்துப் போனபோதும் “திருநாவுக்கரசு” என்று இவரை வாய் நிறைய அழைத்து ஸ்ரீ முகத்தைத் தந்து அந்த தெய்வம் ஆசிர்வதித்தார்.

இப்படி முதல் தரிசனத்திலேயே இப்பேற்பட்ட பெரும் பேறு கிடைத்ததில் பிற்காலத்தில் இவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தெய்வத்தின் குரலை உலகெங்கும் பரவிட செய்யும் பாக்யம் பெறுவாரென அப்போது இவருக்குத் தெரிய நியாமில்லை.

அந்த நாட்களில் ‘தெய்வ வழிபாட்டு சங்கம்’ என்பதில் ஆர்.வி. ஈடுபட்டு தொண்டர்களோடு காஞ்சிபுரம் சென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசித்து விபூதி, குங்குமம், அட்சதை பிரசாதங்களை வாங்கி வருவார்கள். மிக சிரத்தையாக சிறு சிறு பொட்டலங்களாக மடித்து வைத்து ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் உத்தரவுபடி சென்னை பொது மருத்துவமனை, ராயப்பேட்டை மருத்தவமனை என சனி, ஞாயிறு கிழமைகளில் சென்று சிகிச்சை பெற்றுவரும் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் பார்த்து அவர்களுக்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் ஆசியோடு கூடிய இந்தப் பிரசாதப் பொட்டலங்களை கொடுப்பார்கள். அவர்களும் மிக பயபக்தியுடனும் பெரும் நம்பிக்கையுடன் அவைகளை பெற்று தங்கள் நோய் தீர்ந்ததென நிம்மதியடைவார்கள்.

திருநாவுக்கரசு அவர்களும் இந்த தெய்வீக சேவையில் உற்சாகமாக ஈடுபட்டு அடிக்கடி ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிப்பதுண்டு.

“பிரசாதம் கொடுத்தேளா? அவா என்ன சொன்னா அடுத்த முறை போய் பார்த்தேளா?” என்றெல்லாம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்பார். அப்படி ஒரு கருணை!

அப்போது கல்கி இதழில் (இப்போதும் கூட) ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அருள் வாக்குகள் வாரம் தவறாமல் வெவ்வேறு தலைப்புகளில் முழுபக்கக் கட்டுரைகளாக வெளி வரும். தீபாவளி மலர் போன்றவற்றில் விரிவான கட்டுரைகள் வரும். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் இந்தக் கருத்துப் பேழையை மிக சிரத்தையாக தொகுத்து எழுதி வந்தவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் பரமபக்தரமான திரு. ரா. கணபதி ஆவார்கள்.

‘இந்தக் கட்டுரைகளை அப்படியே தொகுத்து நூலாக வெளியிட்டால் நமக்கும் புண்ணியமாகும். அன்பர்களுக்கும் பயனுடையதாயிருக்கும்’ என்று இவருக்குத் தோன்றியது. திரு.ரா. கணபதி அவர்களிடம் திருநாவுக்கரசு இதைப்பற்றிக் கேட்டபோது அவருக்கு மகிழ்ச்சி தான் என்றாலும், ஸ்ரீ மடத்தின் ஒப்புதல் பெற்றுத்தான் நூலாக வெளியிட வேண்டுமென்று சொல்லிவிட்டார்.

அதனால் உடனே காஞ்சி சென்று புதுப் பெரியவாளிடம் இதைப்பற்றி விண்ணப்பித்தனர். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் உத்தரவு வாங்கிவிடலாமென அபிப்பிராயபட்டார்கள்.

இதே நேரத்தில் இதுபோன்ற் தெய்வீகமான நூலை வசதி படைத்த பெரிய டிரஸ்டுகள் வெளியிடுவதுதான் நல்லது என்று புகழ் பெற்ற டிரஸ்டிகளின் பெயர்களையும் சிலர் சொல்லியிருக்கிறார்கள்.

இப்படி மற்ற அன்பர்கள் சிபாரிசு செய்த டிரஸ்ட்டுகளையும், திருநாவுக்கரசுவின் ஆசையையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் கூறிய போது திருநாவுக்கரசு அங்கில்லை. பின்னர் அச்சமயத்தில் அங்கிருந்தவர்கள் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அப்போது சொன்னதாக சொல்லியவைகளை இவர் கேட்க நேர்ந்தபோது உணர்ச்சிகளைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த இயலாமல் இவர் கண்களில் நீர் திரையிட்டது.

பிரபலமான டிரஸ்டுகளை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா குறிப்பிட்டுவிட்டு பின்னால் “அவாள்லாம் புஸ்தகம் போட்டா நன்னாத்தான் இருக்கும். ஆனா பத்திரமா அந்த புஸ்தகத்தை எல்லாம் கண்ணாடி அலமாரியிலே கொண்டு போய் வைச்சுடுவா. அதைவிட வானதி திருநாவுக்கரசே தேவலை. விஷயம் எல்லா ஜனங்கள்கிட்டேயும் போய் சேருமோல்லியோ” என்றாராம்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அன்றைய இப்பேற்பட்ட அரிய அருள்வாக்கினால் தெய்வத்தின் குரல் நூல்களை வெளியிடும் பாக்யம் கிட்டியதற்கு வாழ்நாளில் என்றைக்கும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வத்தின் கருணையை மறக்க முடியாதென இவர் உருகுகிறார்.

இப்போது தெய்வத்தின் குரல் ஏழு தொகுதிகளாக வெளியிடப்பட்டிருப்பது பிரமிப்பாக இருப்பதாகவும் கூறுகிறார்.

1976 ஆம் ஆண்டு சுமார் ஆயிரம் பக்கம் அளவில் உருவாக்கிய முதல் தொகுதியை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பித்த போது,

 “இத்தனை பெரிசா போட்டிருக்கியே….எத்தனை காபி போட்டே” என்று விசாரித்துவிட்டு புன்முறுவல் தவழ ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஆசிர்வதித்தார். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அருளாசியால் இப்போது அந்த முதல் தொகுதியே பதினேழு முறை பதிப்புகளாக வெயிடப்பட்டுள்ளதை திருநாவுக்கரசு நன்றியுடன் நினைவு கூறுகிறார்.

தெய்வத்தின் குரல் மூன்றாம் தொகுதி வெளியான போது நடந்த சம்பவம் ஒன்றை இவர் கூறுகிறார்.

அப்போது ஆந்திர மாநிலம் கர்நூலில் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா முகாமிட்டிருந்தார். புத்தகத்தின் முதல் பிரதியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு தன் குடும்பத்தாருடன் கர்நூல் சென்ற திருநாவுக்கரசு அவர்களுக்கு புத்தகத்திற்கு அருளாசி கேட்பதோடு மற்றொரு குறையையும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் முறையிட வேண்டுமென்று தோன்றியது.

இதுவரை மகானிடம் தனக்கு இது வேண்டும் என்று கேட்காதவர். தன் மூன்றாவது மகளான வானதியின் திருமணம் தாமதமாகிப் போவதால் இதைக் கேட்டுத்தான ஆகவேண்டுமென தோன்றியது.

“மகளுக்கு ஏனோ கல்யாணம் தடைப்பட்டுட்டே இருக்கு சுவாமிகள் அருள்பாலிக்கணும்” என்று வணங்கினார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இவருடைய வேண்டுகோளை ஏற்றவிதம் ஒரு புதிராக இருந்தது” என்ன பணத்தாலே தடையா ? வரதட்சணையா நிறைய பணம் கேட்கிறாளோ? புஸ்தகம் போட்டதுலே பணம் முடங்கிப் போச்சா? பொஸ்தகங்களை மடத்துக்கு அனுப்பிச்சுடு. பணம் தரச் சொல்றேன்” என்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சொன்னபோது இவருக்கு வியர்த்துவிட்டது.

“பணப் பிரச்சனையே இல்லை, என்னமோ வேற காரணம்” என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு புஸ்தகங்கள் அமோகமாக விற்பனையாவதயும் இவர் கூறினார். அதன் பின் யார்யார் எந்த வயதுக்காரார்கள், எந்த ஊர்க்காரார்கள் புத்தக்கங்களை வாங்குகிறார்கள் என்ற விபரத்தை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்டுத் தெரிந்துக் கொண்டார்.

வானதியை அழைத்து பழம்,புஷ்பம், எடுத்துக்கச் சொல்லிக்  கொடுத்து ஆசிர்வதித்தனுப்பினார்.

அற்புதங்கள் எப்படி எப்போது நிகழும் என்று தெரிந்து கொள்ள முடியவில்லை என்று திருநாவுக்கரசு கர்நூலிலிருந்து திரும்பிய அடுத்தவாரமே மகள் வானதியின் திருமணம் நிச்சியமானதைக் குறிப்பிடுகிறார்.

மேலும் மகளுடைய திருமணத்திற்காக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் வேண்டியபோது அதற்கு ஆசிர்வதித்ததோடு நிற்காமல் உனக்கு பணமுடையா, புத்தகங்களை மடத்துக்கு கொடுத்துவிடு நான் பணம் தர சொல்றேன், என்று சூட்சமமாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் திருவாக்காக வெளிப்பட்டதில், தெய்வத்தின் குரல் ஏழு தொகுதிகள் வெளியாகி ஒவ்வொன்றும் பல பதிப்புக்களை கண்டது. புத்தக விற்பனையும் அமோகமாக இருந்தது.

இந்த தெய்வப் பணியை தனக்கு பாக்யமாக்கி அருளிய நடமாடும் தெய்வத்தின் கருணையை திருநாவுக்கரசு சிலாகித்துச் சொல்கிறார். வேதம், வேதாந்தம், புராணம், அரசியல், பண்பாடு, வரலாறு, கணிதம், சாஸ்திரம், நவீன அறிவியல் என்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு எட்டாத எதுவும் இல்லை என்பது போல தோன்றும் இந்நூலை படித்து விட்டால் உலகில் அவர்கள் தெரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டிய வேறு விஷயமே இல்லை என்பதாக நூலின் அருமையை விளக்கும் திருநாவுக்கரசு இப்பேற்பட்ட தெய்வத்தின் குரலை நூல் வடிவில் வெளியிட்டது தன் பிறவிபெரும் பயன் என்றும் உணர்வதாக கூறுகிறார்.

இக்கருணைத் தெய்வத்தை நாமும் பற்றிக் கொண்டு வாழ்வில் சகல ஐஸ்வர்யங்களையும் சர்வ மங்களங்களையும் பெற்று ஆனந்தமாகவும் மன அமைதியோடும் வாழ்வோமாக!

Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyavaal Mahimai (19-01-2012)

 “The Gift of Darshan” (Mahaperiyavaal Darisana Anubavangal)

Shri Mahaperiyava, who is the avatar of Shri Adi Shankara, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

As Thiru Ra. Ganapathy started writing all the things said by Periyava, Thiru Vanathi Thirunavakarusu, was instrumental in compiling and publishing this as a book. He narrates the incidents that lead to him getting this golden opportunity.

It was 1961, when Thirunavakarusu had Periyava’s darshan for the first time. He had come to receive Periyava’s Shrimukham (Seek blessings before writing a forward) for his friend Natarajan’s book on Mahabharatham. Thirunavakarasu came to know from R.V., who was the editor of Kid’s monthly magazine called Kannan that Periyava was camping at Madurai Sethupathi Higher Secondary School.

He was accompanied by both Natarajan and R.V. It was 9 0 Clock in the morning and a large number of devotees were waiting for Periyava’s darshan. There were more than 5000 devotees chanting “Hara Hara Shankara, Jaya Jaya Shankara”. They were doubtful if they will be able to have Periyava’s darshan and talk to Him.

Somehow, with the arrangements that R.V had made, they submitted Natarajan’s book, “Vyasar ezhuthiya Mahabharatham” and requested for Periyava’s Shrimukham. As they were all eagerly waiting for Periyava’s response, R.V very politely said to Periyava, “We have come from Madras, please bless us with the Shrimukham today itself.”

“Is it?” Periyava asked smilingly and said, “Can you please wait for some time? Let the Pooja be over.” They waited as Periyava instructed.

It was 6 0 clock in the evening. A Srimatam Sippanthi came and started saying Thirunavakarasu’s name, “Who is Thirunavakarasu?” and also said that Periyava is calling that person. He was shocked to hear his name being called.

He thought that Periyava is calling someone else. This was because when they had their darshan in the morning, it was very crowded and they did not get a chance to introduce themselves properly. Even if Periyava had noted, he was expecting R.V who is closer to the Srimatam or Natarajan the author of the book to be called. He was surprised at being called.

When he went inside, Periyava called his name “Thirunavakarasu” and gave the Shrimukham and also blessed him. Even though he was blessed this way during his first darshan, he did not know that he will be blessed enough to take Periyava’s message and teaching to the entire world.

During those days, R.V participated in the group called “Deiva Vazhipaattu Sangam” (Association for prayers) and visited Kanchipuram often to seek blessings in the form of Vibuthi, Kumkum and Atchathai from Periyava. They will pack those prasadam carefully in small sheets of newspapers and according to Periyava’s order, each Saturday and Sunday they used to visit Chennai General Hospital, Royapettah Hospital and would distribute these prasadam to the patients there. The patients used to receive this with devotion and their hopes to get cured would increase.

Thirunavakarasu also joined this group and was happy to have Periyava’s darshan regularly.

Periyava used to ask them a lot of questions, “Did you give them the prasadam? What did they say? Did you all go again to check how they are doing?” indicating His kindness and care for all people.

During those times, Kalki magazine used to carry a weekly section of Periyava’s divine thoughts under various titles. In the Deepavali edition, it used to be published as a complete article. Shri Ra. Ganapathy used to compile all these thoughts and publish them.

Thirunavakarasu wanted to compile all these weekly and special edition articles and publish is as a book. Shri Ra. Ganapathy was very happy to hear this, but said that it can be only published after obtaining the necessary permissions from Srimatam.

So they immediately started to Kanchipuram and told their request to Pudhu Periyava. Pudhu Periyava was very happy to hear this, but felt that this should be blessed by Mahaperiyava.

During the same time, for publishing such a divine book, some people suggested going for big trusts. They had also suggested the names of few of them.

When the information about publishing the book and the trust names were told to Periyava, Thirunavakarasu was not present there. But his eyes were filled with tears when he came to know what Periyava had told.

Periyava had said, “It is a good idea to go to big trusts for publications, but they will all keep the books in beautiful glass shelfs. Vanathi Thirunavakarasu is better than them. The message will go to the people.”

Thirunavakarasu recollects the divine words that Periyava had said that day, which enabled him to publish the book “Deivathin Kural”. He says that he cannot forget Periyava’s kindness. He is also surprised at how the book turned into a seven volume series.

In 1976, when they submitted the 1000 pages of the first volume of the book, Periyava asked them, “There are so many pages, how many copies did you print?” Now with Periyava’s blessings, the volume one has seen seventeen editions.

He also narrates an incident that happened during the publication of the third volume. Periyava was camping at Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Thirunavakarasu took the first copy of the book and went to Kurnool with his family. He had one more thing in his mind to ask Periyava apart from getting the blessings for the book.

He had never asked Periyava for anything earlier. The marriage of his third daughter Vanathi was getting postponed and he wanted to seek Periyava’s blessings.

The way Periyava responded to this request surprised him. Periyava asked, “Are there financial problems? Are the groom family asking too much dowry? Did you put all your money in the book and is it all struck now? Send all the copies of the book to Srimatam. I will ask them to send the money to you.” Thirunavakarasu was sweating as he heard this.

“There are no financial problems. We do not know what the problem is.” Thirunavakarasu replied and then explained that the book sales is very good. Periyava also found out who are buying those books, what their ages are and where they are located.

Periyava asked Vanathi to take fruits, flowers and blessed her. Nobody knows how and when a miracle happens. This was felt by Thirunavakarasu immediately a week after they came back when Vanathi’s marriage was fixed.

Also as Periyava had asked Thirunavakarasu if he has any financial problem and also asked to sell the books to Srimatam, the sales of the book also increased rapidly and soon seven volumes were published with multiple editions.

Thirunavakarasu feels indebted for granting him this opportunity to publish this book. He also tells that this book talks about Veda, Vedanta, Puranas, Politics, Culture, History, Math, Shastra and modern science. He firmly believes that one who reads this book, learns all the things that are necessary. He feels that by publishing this book, he has completed his duty on this earth.

Let us all pray to Periyava to bless us with happiness and peace.
