Periyava Mahimai by Smt Lalita Venkatesan

Thanks to WhatsApp where this audio has been circulating for the past 24 hours…It is simply great to listen to this wonderful experience with Sri Jayendra Periyava and miraculously curing one of the well-learned Vedic pundits from his illness.

There are so many such incidents about Periyava. They all will come out slowly and this world will understand how we all are blessed to live in the same era of Sri Periyava. Soon, the world will realize how sinful it is to talk or even think bad about Him. He is our jagadguru….He is the prathama sishya of Mahaperiyava.

Hara Hara Sankara Jaya Jaya Shankara!

Our namaskaram to Sri Periyava and our guru parampara!

  3. Vicharanthi Mahaa maha saschalatha:
We should understand that our Periyavas try as much as possible to hide their mahimai. They always try to act such that we think they are like normal people and make themselves approachable to laymen (for no child should be afraid of its mother). What we get to see is just the sthoola and not the sookshma (we don’t have the eyes to see it, and Periyavaas always hide), and they are merciful towards us even though we are ignorant in this regard.

  4. For the benefit of the Devotee, Shri RANGA,, I wish to render a brief translation to the best of my ability: “SHRI SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL” WAS A VEDIC SCHOLAR LIVING AT VISHNU PURAM. SRI SRI MAHAERIYAVA BESTOWED ON HIM A TITLE ” BHASKARA KOTI” IN RECOGNITION OF HIS GREAT VEDIC KNOWLEDGE.

SOME YEARS AFTER MAHAPERIYAVA’S SIDDHI, ‘ BHASKARA KOTI” SRI SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL SHIFTED TO CHENNAI ALONG WITH HIS SON. DUE TO RIPE OLD AGE HE BECAME MENTALLY UNSTABLE. HE WAS UNABLE TO MOVE OUT OF HIS HOUSE.

HIS SON SENT A REQUEST TO SRI PERIYAVA (SRI SRI JAYENDRA SARASWATHI SWAMINGAL) THROUGH ANOTHER DEVOTEE ABOUT HIS FATHER’S PLIGHT. 4 OR 5 VSITS WERE MADE TO SRI MATAM WITH A REQUEST FOR SRI PERIYAVA COME DOWN TO HIS RESIDENCE TO BLESS HIS FATHER. ONE DAY SRI PERIYAVA CAME DOWN TO THE RESIDENCE WHERE SRI SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL STAYED AT CHENNAI. HE WAS RECEIVED WITH DUE RESPECT BY HIS SON. SRI PERIYAVA SAT ABOUT 6-7 FEET IN FRONT OF SRI SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL AND LOOKED AT HIM CONTINUOUSLY FOR A FEW MINUTES. HE THEN FLUNG HIS RUDRAKSHA BEEDS TOWARDS THE OLD SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL, WHICH EXACTLY FELL AROUND HIS NECK.

THEN A MIRACLE FOLLOWED! SRI SWAMINATHA SASTRIGAL RECOGNISED THE SRI PERIYAVA AND ASKED TOLD HIM “THAT HE & HIS SON SHOULD HAVE COME TO SRI MATAM TO HAVE HIS DARSHAN AND THAT HE NEED NOT HAVE TO COME ALL THE WAY TO AN ORDINARY HOME.

WITHIN MOMENTS SRI PERIYAVA LEFT THAT HOUSE TO RETURN TO SRI MATAM.

    MANY MANY JAYA JAYA SHANKARA!
    HARA HARA SHANKARA!!

PS: I beg for forgiveness if an error crept into my translation.

  5. Periyava saranam.

Please transcribe this in English for the benefit of non-Tamil readers. Many thanks in advance.

  6. A similar incident happened in our family when my father was hospitalised and speechless for more than 24 hours without even opening his eyes.Docctors attending to him insisted on creating an insertion permanently for feeding etc.
I called Srimatam immediately and conveyed the message to Periyavas.periyava immediately sent prasadam through one emissary. But at the hospital my father called out my brother to take him to the rest room within five minutes of my call.
Such is the grace and tapas of Periyava

  7. Reblogged this on HH Pudhu Periyava and commented:
