ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் மகிமை (21-7-2010)

சாட்சாத் ஈஸ்வர்ரின் திருஅவதாரமாகவும் திகழ்ந்துக் கொண்டு சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் மேன்மையான தவவலிமையையும் தனதாக்கிக் கொண்டு அதே சமயம் நம்மிடையே ஒரு எளிய துறவியாய் கருணயையும் அருளையும் பொழிந்தருளும் தனித்துவமான அனுக்ரஹமே ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹா பெரியவாளின் மேன்மைக்கோர் உதாரணமாகத் திகழ்கிறது.

ஸ்ரீ காஞ்சி மடத்திற்கும் ஸ்ரீ சிருங்கேரி மடத்திற்கும் பேதமுண்டு என்று பலரது பக்குவமின்மை காரணமாக எழுந்து இன்றளவும் நிலைக்கும் எண்ணமாக இருக்கிறது. ஆனால் மகாஞானியாம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளும், ஸ்ரீ சிருங்கேரி சந்திரசேகர பாரதி சுவாமிகளும் இதற்கெல்லாம் அப்பாற்பட்ட மகான்களென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பக்தரான திரு. ரா. கணபதி அவர்கள் ஒரு அரிய சம்பவத்தின் மூலம் விளக்குகிறார்.

1966 பிப்ரவரி மாதம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா மயிலையில் முகாமிட்டிருந்தார். அப்போது ஒரு பக்தர் ஸ்ரீ காஞ்சி மடத்தைக் குறித்து ஆட்சேபமான கருத்துக்களை ஆர். கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி என்பவர் ஒரு கட்டுரையில் எழுதியிருப்பதாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் குறை கூறினார். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளும் அதைப் படித்திருப்பதுபோல “எத்தனை க்ளாரிடியா எழுதியிருக்கிறார் பார்த்தயா?” என்று அந்த கட்டுரையில் தன் மடத்தைப் பற்றி குறையாக எழுதியிருப்பதை பெரிதாக எடுத்துக் கொள்ளாமல், அக்கட்டுரை நேர்த்தியாக, தெளிவாக எழுதப்பட்டிருப்பதைப் பாராட்டி அருளினார்.

அப்போது அங்கே தரிசித்துக் கொண்டிருந்த திரு. ரா. கணபதிக்கு ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் மனப்பக்குவத்தின் சிறப்பை எண்ணி சிலிர்க்கலாயிற்று. ஞானியின் சமதர்மம் எப்பேற்பட்டதென்று வியப்படைந்தார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவளோ திருவிளையாடலை ஆரம்பித்தார். ரா. கணபதியை பார்த்து குஸ்தி போடுவதுபோல் கைகளை அபிநயத்து “இந்த சமாசாரமெல்லாம் நீ ஃபாலோ பண்றியா?” என்றார்.

ஃபாலோ பண்ணனும்னு இன்ட்ரெஸ்ட் எடுத்துண்டு பண்ணலே. ஆனாலும் இப்படி இவர் எழுதிண்டு வரதை படிக்கிறபோது ஒரு மாதிரி வேதனையா இருக்கு” என்றார் திரு. கணபதி.

“வேதனையா மட்டும்தான் இருக்கா? கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி ஐயர் மேலே உனக்கு கோபம் வரதா?”  என்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா விடாமல் குடைந்தார்.

கோபம் என்ற வார்த்தையை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கோம் என்று மழலையாக சொன்னதில், இந்த சண்டை சச்சரவுகள் எத்தனை குழந்தைத் தனமானதென்பதை ரா. கணபதி உணர்ந்து கொண்டார். ஆனால் அந்த மனிதர்மீது உண்மையாகவே இவருக்கு கோபம்தான் இருந்தது. ஆஸ்தீகத்திற்கு சிறிதும் பயன்படாத இதுபோன்ற பேதங்கள் வளரச் செய்வதால் என்ன நன்மை என்ற வேதனையில் அவருக்கு கோபம் எழுந்திருந்தது.

“ஆமாம் கோபம்தான் வருகிறது” என்று நடமாடும் தெய்வத்திடம் சொல்ல வெட்கப்பட்டுக் கொண்டு கணபதி அவர்கள் பேசாமலே இருந்தார்.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளே குழந்தையும் தெய்வமுமாகி பேச ஆரம்பித்தார்.

“என் ஆயுள் பரியந்தம் இந்த சண்டை (இரு மடங்களுக்கிடையே) தீரப் போறதில்லே; என்னால தீத்து வைக்க முடியும்ணு தோணலே. அதனாலே இந்த விஷயத்திலே நீ மனசை உழப்பிண்டு ஒரு பிரியோஜனமுமில்லே. ஆனா இப்போ உனக்கு கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி ஐயர்கிட்டே இருக்கிற கோபம் தீரணும்னு எனக்குப் படறது. அதை என்னாலே தீர்க்க முடியும்ணும் தோண்றது. ஒரு காரியம் பண்றயா? அவர் ‘THE  SAINT OF SRINGERI” ன்னு ஒரு புஸ்தகம் எழுதியிருக்கார்….. மொதக் காரியமா அதை வாங்கிப் படி! என்ன படிக்கிறயா?” என்றார் புன்னகை தவிழும் பொலிவுடன்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா உத்தரவிட்டதால் ரா. கணபதி அந்த புத்தகத்தைப் படிக்கும் வாய்ப்பினைப் பெற்றார்.

அப்புத்தகத்தை படிக்கப் படிக்க இவருக்கு முற்றிலுமாக வேறுபட்ட கருத்து எழலாயிற்று. இப்பேற்பட்ட குரு பக்தியும், சாஸ்திர அபிமானமும், வித்வத்தும், அனுஷ்டானமுமுள்ள நூல் ஆசிரியர் இப்படி ஏன் சர்ச்சைக்குரிய விஷயங்களில் ஈடுபடுகிறார் என்று ஆசிரியர் மேல் ஒரு மதிப்பு கலந்த ஆதங்கம் உண்டானது.

அதிலும் மேலாக நூல் நாயகரான சிருங்கேரி பெரியவரிடமும் இவருக்கு பக்தி அரும்பியது போல தோன்றியது. நூலில் பல இடங்களில் காஞ்சி பெரியவாளைப் பற்றியே படிப்பதுபோல பிரமிப்பு உண்டாயிற்று.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் மகாதிருவாக்கின் மகிமையால் திரு. ரா. கணபதிக்கு திரு. கிருஷ்ணசுவாமி ஐயர் மேலிருந்த கோபம் நீங்கலாயிற்று. அடுத்த தரிசனத்தின்போது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் போய் இவர் ‘ பெரியவாளையே பத்தி படிக்கிறாப்பல தோணித்து” என்று சொல்லிவிட்டார்.

அப்போது அந்த குழந்தை தெய்வம் சொன்னதை எண்ணி ரா. கணபதி மெய் சிலிர்க்கிறார்.

“ஓகோ அப்படியா தோணித்து? ஒங்கிட்டே அந்த புத்தகத்தைப் படிக்கச் சொல்லிட்டு நான் பயந்துண்டே இருந்தேன். நீ அதைப் படிச்சுட்டு சதாசர்வ காலமும் த்யானமாக இருக்கிற இவருடைய விசேஷமென்ன? ஆனா எப்பவும் Under the Sun ஒரு விஷயமும் பாக்கியில்லாமே எல்லாத்தையும் உழக்காலே அளந்துண்டு இருக்கிற என்னைமாதிரி பராக்கு சாமியாரும் சுவாமிகளான்னு உனக்கு நெனைப்பு வந்துடுமோன்னு பயந்தேன்….. நீ என்னடான்னா என்னப் பத்திப் படிக்கறாப்பல இருக்குன்னு சொல்றே அப்படியா தோணித்து “ என்று கேட்டு நின்றார் மகாஞானி.

இப்பேற்பட்ட ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் எப்பேற்பட்ட தாழ்மை என்று உணர்ந்தபோது இவருக்குக் கண்ணில் நீர் முட்டியது.

வாயில்லா ஜீவனுக்கு கிட்டும் கருணை

மானுடர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்லாது சக ஜீவன்களிடமும் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் கருணை வியாபித்தருளுகின்றது. ஒரு முறை ஒரு செல்வந்தர் பெரிய காரில் மடத்திற்கு வந்து நிற்கிறார். அவர் முகத்தில் வேதனை. அது அவர் வளர்க்கும் நாயின்மேல் கொண்ட கவலையில் எழுந்துள்ளது. சென்ற ஒரு வார காலமாக நாய் உணவு உட்கொள்ளவில்லை. குரைக்கவுமில்லை. என்ன நேர்ந்ததென்று தெரியாமல் மிருக வைத்தியரிடமும் சென்றாயிற்று. டாக்டருக்கும் நாயின் போக்கு புதிராக இருந்தது. அதனால் குணப்படுத்த இயலவில்லை. உண்ணாமல் மெலிந்து சக்தியில்லாமல் கிடக்கும் வாயில்லா ஜீவனின் அவஸ்தையைத் தாங்க இயலாத செல்வந்தருக்கு ஒரே வழிதான் தோன்றியது. கஷ்டங்கள் எதுவாயினும் கண்கண்ட காஞ்சிமகானே கதி என்ற நம்பிக்கையோடு ஸ்ரீமடத்திற்கு காரில் அந்த நாயோடு வந்தடைந்தார்.

நாயை தனது காரிலேயே விட்டுவிட்டு உள்ளேபோய் ஸ்ரீபெரியவாளெனும் காருண்யரிடம் நிற்கிறார். இப்படி நாய்க்கு ஒரு குறை என்று நிவர்த்தி தேடி வந்தது. மடத்தில் அபூர்வமாக எல்லோருக்கும் தோன்றினாலும், அவருடைய கவலை  தோய்ந்த முகத்தைப் பார்த்தபோது அதற்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருள வேண்டுமே என்று ஸ்ரீ பாலு என்ற கைங்கரிய அன்பருக்கு உறுத்தல் ஏற்பட்டது.

ஆகவே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம், இந்த செல்வந்தரின் முறையீட்டைப் பற்றி ஸ்ரீபாலு எடுத்துரைத்து அதற்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அருளவேண்டுமென விண்ணப்பித்தார். கருணைக் கரைந்தது.

“நாயை இங்கே கொண்டுவந்து சிரமப்படுத்த வேண்டாம் நானே அங்கே வர்றேன்” என்று சக ஜீவ காருண்யராக மெதுவாய் ஸ்ரீ மடத்தின் வாசலில் கார் நிற்குமிடத்திற்கு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வந்து நிற்கிறார்.

“கார் கதவைக் திறந்துவிடுங்கோ” என்று பெரியவா சொல்ல திறந்ததும் அந்த நாய் எதற்கோ கட்டுப்பட்டதுபோல இறங்கி நிற்கிறது.

“செருப்பு இருக்கா? ” என்று பெரியவா கேட்டுவிட்டு, “ பாதரட்சை இல்லை….” தோல் செருப்பு என்கிறார். பக்கத்தில் ஒரு சிப்பந்தி அணிந்திருந்த செருப்பைக் கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். அதை நாயின் ஒரு பக்கம் வைக்கச் சொல்கிறார்.

“ நீ போய் ஒரு கிண்ணம் நிறைய பாலைக் கொண்டு வா “ என்று ஸ்ரீ பாலுவிடம் கூற அவரும் அப்படியே கொண்டு வந்து வைக்கிறார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தன் கமலங்களை மூடி தியானிப்பதுபோல் சில நிமிடங்கள் செல்கின்றன. அதுவரை சக்தியில்லாமல் சோர்வாய் கிடந்த நாய் மடமடவென்று அருகே வைத்த பால் அத்தனையையும் குடிக்கிறது. அதற்கு புது தெம்பு உண்டானதுபோல ‘ வள் வள் ‘ ளென்று விடாமல்  சில நிமிடங்கள் குரைத்து பின் சமாதானமாகிறது.

அந்த செல்வந்தருக்கும், அருகிலிருந்தோருக்கும் இந்த மகிமை ஆச்சர்யத்தை உண்டாக்குகிறது. ஆனால் பெரியவாளோ இதில் அதிசயிக்க ஒன்றுமில்லையே என்ற அர்த்தத்தோடு தன் மேன்மையை மறைக்கும் அடக்கத்தோடு “திருடங்க வந்தா மந்திர சக்தியாலே நாயைக் கட்டிப் போட்டுடுவா….. தோல் செருப்பாலே அதை போக்கிடலாம்” என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு நகர்கிறார்.

இப்படி ஒரு மாபெரும் தெய்வத்திடம் நாம் கொள்ளும் சரணாகதி நமக்கெல்லாம் நல்கதி நல்கி, சகல ஐஸ்வர்யங்களையும், சர்வ மங்களங்களையும் அள்ளி வழங்குமென்பது சத்தியமல்லவா!

ஓரு துளி தெய்வாமிருதம்

கோயிலில் பலபேர் சேர்ந்து பூஜைகள், உற்சவங்கள், கும்பாபிஷேகங்கள் செய்து, பொன்னையும், பொருளையும், கந்தம்,புஷ்பம், நைவேத்யம்  என்று அர்ப்பணம் பண்ணுவதன் நோக்கம் என்ன? இப்படிப்பட்டக் கூட்டுப்பணிதான் மதத்தின் முடிவு என்ற அபிப்ராயத்தில் செய்யக்கூடாது. ஈஸ்வரனிடத்தில் சமூகம் முழுவதும் சேர்ந்து அவனுக்கு நன்றி தெரிவிப்தற்கான  அடையாளமாகவே, அவன் நமக்கு கொடுத்ததலிருந்தே திரும்ப அவனுக்கு அர்ப்பணிப்பதுதான் கூட்டு ஆலயப்பணியின் நோக்கமாக இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் ஜயந்தி உற்சவம் 1990இல் பங்காரு அம்மன் தோட்டத்தில் நாயேனின் குருவாய் விளங்கும் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமாவினால் அதிருத்ர வைபவமாகக் கொண்டாட திட்டமிடப்பட்டது. பிரதோஷ மாமாவின் பூர்ண பக்திக்கு அங்கீகாரமாக மிகக் குறுகிய காலகட்டத்தில் ஏற்பாடுகள் ஆரம்பித்து அந்த அதிருத்ரத்தின் ஒவ்வொரு ஏற்பாட்டிலும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் அனுக்ரஹம் வெளிப்படையாகத் தெரிந்தது. வி.ஜி.பி. சகோதரர்கள் பங்காரு தோட்டத்தில் கட்டிய கட்டிடம் அதிருத்ர வைபவத்திற்காக துரிதமாக ஏற்பாடானது. மிக சத்தான அக்னிஹோத்ர வைதீகர்கள் வந்திருந்து மிகச் சிறப்பாக ஜயந்தி கொண்டாட்டங்கள் நிறைவேறின.

வைபவ தினங்கள் முடிந்து சுவாமி புறப்பாட்டிற்கு மறுநாள் நாயேன் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசிக்க சென்றேன்.  வெகுநாட்களாக நாயேனுக்கு நடமாடும் தெய்வத்தின் திரு. பாதுகை பெறவேண்டுமென்ற ஆசை. நாயேனின் குருவாம் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ மாமா உனக்கு சமயம் வரும்போது கிடைக்கும் என்பார்.

அன்று ஸ்ரீ மடத்திற்கு நாயேன் சென்றபோது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தூரத்தில் ஒளிமங்கிய தாழ்வாரத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அறைக்குள்  பிரவேசிப்பது தெரிந்தது. அந்த இருட்டிலும் “யார் இது” என்று நாயேனைப் பார்த்து பெரியவா யாரிடமோ கேட்க அவரும் நாயேனைக் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

“ஏன் இத்தனை நாள் வரலே?” என்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்டதன் அர்த்தம் நாயேனுக்குப் புரியவில்லை. அதிருத்ர நாட்களில் தரிசனம் விட்டுபோனதை மகான் குறித்து சொல்கிறாரோ என்று சமாதானம் செய்து கொண்டேன். உடனே என்னுள் ஒரு உந்துதல் பிறந்தது.

“பெரியவா பாதுகை வேணும்” என்று கேட்டுவிட்டேன். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் தீர்க்கமான பார்வை என்மேல் விழ, தன் திருக்கரத்தை மேலேயும் கிழேயும் அசைத்து பாதுகை இல்லையே என்பது போல ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா சைகை செய்தருளினார்.

ஆனால் தயாசிந்து நாயேனை ஏமாறவிடவில்லை. அந்த அறை தட்டி கதவிற்கு பின்னால் சென்ற மகான் “ இவருக்கு தந்தே ஆகணும்” என்றுக் கருணையோடு சொல்வது நாயேன் காதில் தேனாய் விழுந்தது. அதுவே கோடி அனுக்ரஹம்.

உடனே பாதுகையை வரவழைத்துத் தன் திருப்பாதங்களில் அணிந்து அப்படியே அவைகளைத் தூக்கிப் போட்டதும் ஆனந்தக் களிப்போடு  நாயேன் பாதுகைகளை ஏந்திக் கொண்டேன். மங்கள வாத்யங்கள் முழங்க நான் பெற்ற பேரின்பத்தை சிரசில் ஏந்தி குருவாம் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷ மாமாவின் இல்லத்தை நாயேன் அடைந்த தருணங்கள் சொர்க்கத்தின் அனுபவங்களே!

நாயேனைவிடப் பன்மடங்கு பரவசமடைந்த குருவாம் பிரம்மஸ்ரீ மாமா “உனக்கு கிடைக்காம வேறு யாருக்கு கிடைக்கப்போகிறது “ என்று வாஞ்சையோடு தானும் இதில் பெருமகிழ்ச்சி கொண்டார். ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் அனுக்ரஹம் அனைத்தும் நாயேனின் குருவினாலன்றி வேறு எவ்வாறு கிட்டிடும் என்ற பூர்ண நம்பிக்கையை இச்சம்பவம் தந்தருளியது.

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

It has been a common misconception that the Srimatam at Kanchipuram and Sringeri are different. But Thiru Ra. Ganapathy, through an incident, explains that, Shree Mahaperiyava and Shree Sringeri Chandrasekhara Bharathi Swamigal are above all of these.

During February of 1966, Periyava was camping at Mylapore. A devotee informed Periyava that R. Krishnaswami had written ill about Kanchi Srimatam. But Periyava responded, “Did you notice how well the article was written?” indicating that He had already read the article and did not bother about the points mentioned in it.

Shri Ra. Ganapathy, who was sitting there was moved by Periyava’s maturity and the way He considered everyone equal and same.

Periyava slowly started His divine game. He looked at Ra. Ganapathy and asked, “Do you follow these things?” mentioning the article that the devotee had said some time back.

Ganapathy replied, “I do not take interest and read such things, but I do feel very bad after reading such articles.”

“Do you feel only bad, don’t you get angry on Krishnaswami?” Periyava asked.

Periyava had used the word “angry” (“Kom” instead of “Kobam”) in a childish way to indicate how silly it is to be angry for such things. But actually Ganapathy was angry. He was angry that, there is no use in letting such thoughts grow. But he was shy to say to Periyava that he was angry.

Periyava, who is both a child and God started to speak, “I do not think this fight (between the two Srimatam) is not going to end when I am still here. So do not worry about this anymore. But I think your anger on Krishnaswami needs to calm down. I think I can solve that. Can you read his book, “The Saint of Sringeri”?”

Shri Ra. Ganapathy started reading the book. As he started reading the book, his thoughts totally changed. He was surprised by Krishnaswami’s Guru Bhakthi, knowledge on Shastras and Anushtanams and still he was unable to understand why Krishnaswami could write contradictory articles also.

Ra. Ganapathy also felt growing bhakthi towards Sringeri Periyava after reading the book. He felt as if he was reading about Kanchi Periyava. Due to the power of Periyava’s words, Ra. Ganapathy’s anger towards Krishnaswami vanished. When visiting Periyava, he said, “It was as if I was about Periyava”.

Periyava replied, “Did you think like that? After asking you to read the book, I was afraid that you might begin to start thinking about Him (Sringeri Periyava) and the way he is always submerged in a trance state, and think how someone like me, who measures everything under the sun with uzhakku (an old measuring tool) and is always looking around was also called Periyava?”

Ra. Ganapathy’s eyes were filled with tears to know how humble Periyava is.

Compassion to other living beings

Periyava’s kindness is not restricted to only humans. He has compassion to all the living beings in this world. Once a wealthy man came to Srimatam in an expensive car. He looked very worried. His worry was due to his pet dog. It had stopped eating and barking. The vet who had checked the dog was unable to diagnose any problems. Day by day, it started to lose weight. The rich man was unable to see the plight of the dog and brought it to the Srimatam, hoping to get some cure.

He left the dog in the car and was standing before Periyava. Even though this looked like a strange request to the devotees, Shree Balu felt that Periyava should bless the dog. Shree Balu told the rich man’s request to Periyava and asked Him to bless.

“Let us not strain the dog by bringing it here, I will come to the car.” Periyava said and started walking outside Srimatam towards the car.

“Open the car”, as Periyava said this, the door was opened and the dog got down and sat, as if someone had instructed it to do so.

“Does anyone have slippers?” Periyava said and continued, “Not Padaratchai”. Someone nearby bought the leather slippers they were wearing. Periyava asked to place it on one side and asked Shree Balu to bring a cup of milk and place it next to the dog.

Periyava closed His eyes and meditated for some time. After couple of minutes, the dog got up, drank the milk and started barking for some time and then sat quietly.

The rich man and all the other devotees nearby were surprised. Periyava, with a hint that, there is nothing to be surprised, said, “When some thieves put a spell on the dogs, it can be easily removed with leather slippers.

It is true that whoever surrenders to Periyava will be blessed with all goodness in this world.

A drop of God’s Nectar:

What is the purpose of all the people getting together to perform Pooja, festivals, Kumbabishekam and donating money, food and flowers? We should not assume that this is the purpose of religion. All of the things that we have has been given by God, and these are all done to thank Him for His kindness and give back the things that He has blessed us with. This should be the intention of the society in getting together for various temple activities.

In 1990, with the blessings of my Guru Shree Pradhosham Mama, it was decided to celebrate Periyava’s Jayanthi Celebration by conducting Adi Rudram chanting at Bangaru Gardens. Pradhosha Mama’s bhakthi and Periyava’s kindness were felt in every stage of preparation for the event. The building at Bangaru Gardens were quickly built by VGP brothers. Very special Agnihotra vaideekaas attended and the entire event was a grand celebration.

One day after the celebrations were over, I went to meet Periyava. It had been my long time desire to have Periyava’s Paduka and Pradhosham Mama had said that it will come to me during appropriate time.

When I reached Srimatam, I saw Periyava entering a dimly lit room. He asked a person near Him to see who has come, and the person told about my arrival.

I did not understand why Periyava asked, “Why didn’t you come for such a long time?” I assumed that, Periyava was asking since I had not visited Him during the Adi Rudram days. I do not know what happened suddenly, but I asked Periyava that I needed His Padhukai. Periyava looked up and down and waved His hands, signaling that He did not have any.

He went inside the room and started talking to someone. When I heard Periyava mentioning “It has to be given to him”, I felt so happy and blessed. He got a Paduka, wore and it and gave it to me. I was so happy on receiving it and felt heavenly when I took it and reached Pradhosham Mama’s house.

Pradhosham Mama was happier than me and said, “If you do not get, who else will”. I became a firm believer that, Periyava’s blessings to me were all due to the kindness of my Guru.

Grace will continues to grow.
