ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ ஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் மகிமை (24-6-2010)

யோகமூர்த்தியாம் ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவா, சுகப்பிரம்மரிஷி அவர்களின் தவ வலிமையை ஒத்த நிலையிலிருந்தும், அந்த மகிமையினை மறைத்து ஒரு பாமர பக்தனுக்கும் எளிமையாகக் காட்சி தந்தருளியதால், சாட்சாத் ஆனந்த நடராஜ மூர்த்தியே திருஅவதாரம் செய்து கருணை பொழிவதை இதன்மூலம் உணரும் பாக்யம் அருளியுள்ளார்.

தான் சாட்சாத் பரமேஸ்வர சொரூபம் என்பதைத்  துளியும் வெளிக்காட்டாத மேன்மையோடு நம்மிடையே காட்சி தந்தாலும், மகானது காருண்யம் அதாகவே பக்தரின் துயரத்தினைக் கேட்டு பொங்கி எழுந்துள்ள சம்பவங்கள் பல நிகழ்ந்துள்ளன. அப்படிப்பட்ட ஆபூர்வ சம்பவங்களை நேரில் அனுபவித்த பாக்யத்தை ஸ்ரீ பாலு எனும் ஸ்ரீபெரியவா கைங்கர்ய வரம் பெற்ற பக்தர் பலமுறை அடைந்துள்ளார்.

ஒருமுறை திருநெல்வேலியிலிருந்து இப்படி ஒரு தாங்கமுடியாத துயரோடு 34 வயதுடைய ஒரு பக்தர் வந்திருந்தார். அவருடன் அவருடைய பெற்றோர்களும் துன்பத்தால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மனநிலையோடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா  தரிசனத்திற்கு வந்திருந்தனர். மூவருக்கும் ஸ்ரீ காஞ்சி மடம் புதிது. ஸ்ரீ சிருங்கேரி மடத்தை சார்ந்திருந்தாலும் அவர்கள் ஏனோ காஞ்சி மகான் தரிசனத்திற்கு வந்திருந்தனர். இந்த மடம் பரிச்சயமில்லாததால் பக்தர்கள் கூட்டத்திலிருந்து தனித்து ஒதுங்கி தயங்கி நிற்பது புரிந்தது.

பரம காருண்ய குருவாய் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா தயங்கி நின்றவர்களை அருகே கூப்பிட்டார். அருகே வந்த மூவரும் மகானைத் தரிசித்த உணர்வினாலோ அல்லது தங்கள் மனதில் நிறைந்த சோகத்தாலோ கண்களில் நீர் மல்க நின்றனர்.

“சிருங்கேரிக்குப் போயிட்டு வர்றோம்” என்று ஆரம்பித்தனர். ”எனக்கு தீராத வயிற்றுவலி…..வலின்னா உயிர் போகிறமாதிரி வலிச்சுண்டே இருக்கு. பார்க்காத டாக்டரில்லே. எல்லா வைத்தியமும் பண்ணியாச்சு…..கொஞ்சம்கூட சரியாகலே…எல்லா பரிகாரமும் பண்ணியாச்சு….கோயில் தெய்வம்னு முறையிட்டாச்சு…. புண்ணியமில்லே… சரி எங்க குருவைத் தரிசனம் செஞ்சிட்டு வரலாம்னு சிருங்கேரிக்கு போனோம்…….அந்த மகான்கிட்டே என் குறையை சொன்னதும் அவர் ‘காஞ்சி மகான்கிட்டே போ! அவாதான் வைதீஸ்வரராய் உன்னைக் காப்பாத்துவார்’ னு உத்தரவிட்டு அனுப்பினா. அதனாலே வந்திருக்கோம்” என்று அந்த பக்தர் தழுதழுக்க முறையிட்டார்.

“ஓகோ! அப்படி சொன்னாரா?” என்று ஏதும் அறியாதவரின் நடிப்போடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

பக்தருக்கு கொஞ்சம் நம்பிக்கையோடு, சுவாதீனமும் வந்திருக்க வேண்டும். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளே கதி என்ற உத்வேகம் பிறந்திருக்க வேண்டும். உடனே உருகி அழ ஆரம்பித்து விட்டார்.

“பெரியவா…..உங்களையே கதின்னு வந்துட்டேன். எங்கெங்கு போயும் தீராத வயத்துவலி இப்போ குணமாகணும்னு நம்பி இங்கே வந்திருக்கேன். இந்த உயிர்போற மாதிரியான வலியிலிருந்து பெரியவாதான் காப்பாத்தணும். அப்படி ஒரு அனுக்ரஹம் கிடைக்காம இந்த வலியோடதான் நான் இருக்கணும்னு விதியிருந்தா எனக்கு வேற வழியே தெரியலே.. இங்கேயே என் உயிரை மாய்ச்சுக்க வேண்டியதுதான்னு உறுதியா இருக்கேன்….ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாதான் காப்பாத்தணும்.

இப்படி பூர்ணசரணாகதியோடு வேண்டி நிற்கும் பக்தனின் அவஸ்தையை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் கருணைக் கமலங்கள் நோக்கின. சற்றுநேரம் அந்த கமலங்களை மூடி ஒரு தவம் செய்யும் பாவனையோடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வம் சிறு மணித்துளிகள் தியானித்த கோலத்தில் ஆழ்ந்திருந்ததை பக்தர்களும் ஸ்ரீபாலுவும் பார்த்தனர். ஒரு அபூர்வ காட்சியாய் இது தோன்றியது.

நிமிடங்கள் கடந்ததும் மகானின் கமல மலர்கள் திறந்தன. கருணை, அன்பு இத்யாதிகளின் கலவையாய் மகானின் தீட்சண்யம் வயிற்றுவலி பக்தரை ஆட்கொண்டது.

அந்த க்ஷணமே அதிசயம் நடந்தது. பக்தர் வெகுநாள் அனுபவித்த துயர் நீங்கியதுபோல் உணர்ந்தார். ஆம் அவருடைய வயிற்றுவலி சட்டென்று அகன்று விட்டிருந்தது. முகத்தில் அந்த ஆனந்தம் தெரிந்தது.

“பெரியவா! வைதீஸ்வரா…… இப்போ வயத்துவலி போன இடம் தெரியலையே….” என்று கண்ணீர் மல்க நன்றிப் பெருக்கோடு பக்தர் தன் சந்தோஷத்தை வெளியிட்டு பூர்ண மனத்துடன் நமஸ்கரித்தார். தீராத வினை தீர்த்த ஆனந்தத்தோடு அவர்கள் விடைபெற்றுச் சென்றனர்.

ஆனால் அன்றைய தினத்திலிருந்து ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா போக்கு வித்யாசமாக மாறியிருப்பது ஸ்ரீ பாலுவுக்கும் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் தெரியலானது. ஸ்ரீ மகான் வயிற்றில் வேதனை உண்டானதுபோல சங்கடப்படுவது தெரியலாயிற்று. உபாதை மேலிட்டவராய் படுப்பதும், வயிற்றை சுருக்கி புரள்வதுமாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அவஸ்தைப்படத் தொடங்கினார். சில நேரம் வயிற்றுவலி தாங்காமல் துடிதுடித்ததும் காண சகிக்காத காட்சியாக கைங்கர்யம் செய்பவர்களைக் கலங்க வைத்தது. அதிலும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் பிட்சை தயார் செய்யும் கைங்கர்யம் மேற்கொண்டிருந்த ஸ்ரீ பாலு அவர்களின் மனம் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா படும் அவஸ்தையைப் பார்த்து மிக வேதனையடைந்தது. தனது கைப் பக்குவத்தில் ஏதாகிலும் கோளாறு ஏற்பட்டு அதுதான் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் வயிற்று வலிக்கு காரணமென்று மற்றவர்கள் கூறி விடுவார்களோ என்ற அச்சத்தோடு அவர் இரண்டு நாட்களைக் கழித்தார். ஆனாலும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் வேதனையை இவர் மனம் தாங்க இயலவில்லை.

தெய்வமே துன்புறும்போது இதை யாரிடம் முறையிடலமென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் அபரிதமான அபிமானம் கொண்டவருக்கு , தன் குல தெய்வமான வைதீஸ்வரரை போய் வேண்டிக் கொள்ளலாமென்று தோன்றியது. அதைக் காலம் கடத்தாமல் செய்ய வசதியாய் அடுத்த நாள் ஏகாதசியன்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பிட்சைக்கு எதுவும் தயார் செய்ய வேண்டாமென்பதால் அன்று வைதீஸ்வரன் கோயிலுக்கு போய்வர மனதில் திட்டமிட்டார்.

இதை வெளிப்படையாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் கூற முடியாதல்லவா? ஆகவே ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் போய் “குலதெய்வத்தைத் தரிசனம் செய்யணுன்னு தோண்றது….. பெரியவா உத்தரவாகணும்” என்று பணிந்து நின்றார்.

“நீ தான் உன் குலதெய்வம் வைதீஸ்வரன் பெரியவாதான்னு சொல்லுவியே…. இப்போ போகணுங்கறயே” ஒரு மாபெரும் தெய்வரகசியத்தை சாதாரணமாய் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இயம்பி வினவினார்.

ஸ்ரீ பாலுவிற்கோ எப்படியாவது உத்தரவாகிவிட வேண்டுமென்றா ஆவல்.

“இல்லே… நான் சின்ன வயதிலே முடி இறக்கிண்டதோடு சரி. அப்புறம் குலதெய்வத்தைத் தரிசிக்க போகலே….இப்போ ஏனோ தோணித்து” என்றார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா அனுக்ரஹிக்க, பாலு புறப்படலானார்.

வைதீஸ்வர்ருக்கு வேண்டிக் கொள்பவர்கள் கை கால்களில் உபாதை தீர கால், கை என்று வெள்ளியில் வாங்கி சார்த்துவது வழக்கம். அப்படி எந்த உறுப்பின் நோய் தீரவேண்டுமோ, வெள்ளியால் செய்த அந்த உறுப்பைப் போடுவதாக சங்கல்பம் செய்வார்கள். ஸ்ரீ பாலுவோ இப்படி ஒரு பிரச்சனைக்காக இங்கே வந்தவர். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் வயற்று அவஸ்தை தீர வைதீஸ்வரருக்கு வெள்ளியால் வயறு வாங்க கடைதோறும் தேட ஆரம்பித்தார். ஆனால் ஒரு கடையிலும் அவர் கேட்டதுபோல  வயறு பாகம் கிடைக்கவில்லை.

ஏமாற்றத்தோடு அலைந்துக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது, ஒரு கிழவி அவர் முன் வந்து நின்றாள். “என்ன சாமி? வைதீஸ்வரருக்கு வயறு தேடறயாக்கும். அது கடையிலெல்லாம் கெடைக்காது…. ஆபீஸ்லே போய் கேளு….. விசேஷமா யாரோ கொண்டு சுவாமிக்கு போட்டதை பத்திரமா வைச்சிருக்காங்க…. முக்கியமானவங்க கேட்டா தான் தருவாங்க” என்று கூறிவிட்டு அகன்றாள். ஸ்ரீ பாலுவிக்கு அதிசயமானது. யார் அந்த கிழவி…. எப்படி தான் தேடியதை அறிந்தவளாய் வழி காட்டுவிட்டு செல்கிறாள் என்றெல்லாம் யோசித்தார்.

இந்த அபூர்வ அனுபவத்தோடு ஆபீஸ் நோக்கிச் சென்றார். தான் சங்கரமடத்திலிருந்து வந்துள்ளதாகவும், ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா உபாதைக்கு வேண்ட வந்துள்ளதாகவும் தெரிவிக்க முடியுமா என்ன? அதனால் ஒரு சாதாரண பக்தராய் ஆபீஸ் சென்று இ.ஓ. வை. சந்தித்தார். பிரதியோகமாய் சில முக்கியப்பட்டவர்களுக்கே கொடுக்கப்படும். வெள்ளி வயிற்றை  இப்படி தான் போய்க் கேட்டால் தருவார்களோ என்று தயங்கியபடி ஆபீஸரிடம் பேசத் தொடங்கினார். அதிசயமாக அந்த ஆபீஸர் மன்னார்குடியில் தன் பால்யவயதில் படித்த பள்ளியில் படித்தவரென்று அறிமுகத்தில் தெரிந்ததில் அதுவே இவருக்கு சாதகமாய் அமைந்தது.

இ.ஓ. இவரிடம் பரிச்சயமேற்பட்டதில் கஜானவில் பாதுகாப்பாக வைத்திருந்த வெள்ளி வயிற்றை இவருக்குக் கொடுக்க அனுமதியளித்தார். ரூபாய் எழுநூற்றைம்பது பணம் கட்டி அதை ஸ்ரீ பாலு பெற்றார்.

மனப்பூர்வமாக வைதீஸ்வரரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டு வைத்தியநாதருக்கு வயிற்றை சார்த்தி ஸ்ரீ பாலு வழிபட்டுவிட்டு காஞ்சிக்குத் திரும்பினார். இங்கே வந்தவர் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாள் உடல்நிலை எப்படி இருக்கிறதோ என்ற கவலை மேலிட்டவராய் மடத்திற்குள் நுழைந்தார்.

ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளைத் தரிசித்தபோது ஆனந்த நடராஜ மூர்த்தியாய் ஸ்ரீ சங்கரர் உபாதை நீக்கமுற்றவராக முகப்பொலிவோடு காட்சியருளியதை ஸ்ரீ பாலு உணர முடிந்தது.

“பெரியவா அனுக்ரஹத்தாலே வைதீஸ்வரன் கோயில் தரிசனம் செஞ்சி திரும்பினேன்” என்று ஸ்ரீ பாலு மகிழ்ச்சியோடு கூறி நின்றபோது, சாட்சாத் வைதீஸ்வரரான ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ பெரியவா இப்படி ஒரு அருள்வாக்கு பொழிந்தருளி அதிசயிக்கச் செய்தார்.

“என் வயித்துவலியைக் கொண்டுபோய் வைதீஸ்வரன்கிட்டே விட்டுட்டு வந்துட்டயாக்கும்” என்று  புன்னகை தவழும் சந்திரமுகத்தோடு ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கேட்டார்.

ஸ்ரீ பாலு ஸ்தம்பித்து நின்றார். அன்று அந்த பக்தரிடமிருந்து வயற்று வலியை தான் பெற்றுக் கொண்ட உண்மையையும், அது ஸ்ரீ பாலுவின் வேண்டுதலால் இப்போ வைதீஸ்வரனிடம் போய் சேர்ந்திருப்பதையும் இப்படி ஒரு திருவாக்கினால் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா வெளிப்படுத்தியபோது, இந்த சம்பவம் முழுவதையும் அனுபவித்த ஸ்ரீபாலு ஒருவரால்தான் இப்பேற்பட்ட மகானின் அபாரக் கருணையையும், மகிமையையும் . உணர முடிந்திருந்தது.

இப்பேற்பட்ட அனுக்ரஹ தெய்வத்திடம் நாம் கொள்ளும் பூர்ண சரணாகதம் நம்மை எப்போதும் காப்பாற்றி சர்வ மங்களங்களோடு, சகல ஐஸ்வர்யங்களோடு வாழ வைக்கும் என்பது சத்தியமே!

ஓரு துளி தெய்வாமிருதம்

Standard of Living என்பதை ‘வாழ்க்கைத்தரம்’ என்று மொழி பெயர்ப்பதே சரியல்ல. வாழ்க்கைத்தரம் என்பது மிகவும் உயர்ந்த விஷயம். நல்ல குணங்களுடன், ஈஸ்வர பக்தியுடன் வாழ்கிற வாழ்வே தரமான வாழ்வு. வாழ்க்கைத்தரத்தை Quality of life என்று சொல்ல வேண்டும். தற்போது பொருளாதாரத் தேவைகளை அதிகமாக்கிக் கொண்டே போவதைத்தான் ‘வாழ்க்கைத் தரம்’ எங்கிறோம். இதைவிட்டு மனசினால் உயர்ந்த, உத்தமமாக நம் வாழ்க்கையை உயர்த்திக் கொள்வதே வாழ்க்கைத்தரம் என்ற மனப்பான்மைக்கு மாறவேண்டும்!

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் ‘மீளா அடிமை’ யான அற்புத நாயன்மார்                                                                 (தொடர்ச்சி)

ஸ்ரீஸ்ரீஸ்ரீ மஹாபெரியவாளின் கருணையினாலும், பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமாவின் பரிபூர்ண ஆசியாலும் 1989 வருட ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா ஜயந்தி நாயேனின் ஊரில் அதிருத்ரம் கோலாகல உற்சவமாக நடந்தேறியது. ஹோமப் பிரசாதங்களை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடமும், பிரதோஷம் மாமாவிடமும் சமர்ப்பிக்க நாயேன் காஞ்சி வந்தடைந்தேன். கூடவே பெரியவா தரிசனத்திற்கு நாயேனின் தாய், தந்தை மற்றும் அன்பர்கள் வந்திருந்தனர்.

பிரசாதங்கள் சமர்ப்பித்தபோது ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளெனும் தெய்வம் இரண்டு மலர்மாலைகளை என் தாய் தந்தையருக்குப் போடச் சொல்லி அருளினார். அதுவே மறைமுகமாக எனக்கு அனுக்ரஹம் பூர்ணமாக கிட்டியதாக உணரும்படியாக ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா செய்வித்தருளியதாக உணர்ந்தேன்.

மற்றுமொரு அங்கீகாரமும் கிரீடம் வைத்தாற்போல அருளப்பட்டது. அங்கே நாயேனின் ஊரில் கொண்டாடப்படும் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா உற்சவங்களில் பக்கபலமாக உழைக்கும் பக்தர்களில் திரு. சதாசிவம் குறிப்பிடப்பட வேண்டியவராவர். மலர் மாலைகளைக் கொண்டு வந்து குவிப்பது அவருடைய கைங்கர்யங்களில் ஒன்று. எந்த பிரதிபலனும் நோக்காத அன்பர். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் புறப்பாடு தேராகவோ, புஷ்பப் பல்லக்காகவோ எதுவானாலும் பூக்களைக் கொண்டு ஜோடிப்பது இவருடைய விசேஷ கைங்கர்யம். இந்த புஷ்ப அலங்காரங்கள் புறப்பாட்டின்போது அத்தனை ஜனங்களையும் ஈர்க்க வல்லதாக அமையும். அப்படித்தான் அந்த அதிருத்ர குதூகல சுவாமி புறப்பாட்டிற்கும் பூ அலங்காரம் நேர்த்தியாக செய்யப்பட்டிருந்தது.

எப்போதும் தண்டுமாலைகளையும், இந்த பூவினால் செய்யப்பட்ட அலங்காரங்களையும் அப்படியே எடுத்துவந்து ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பிப்பென்பது ஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷ மாமாவிடமிருந்து நாயேன் அறிந்துக் கொண்டு கடைப்பிடிப்பதான வழக்கம்.

அதுபோலவே இந்த அதிருத்ர பூர்த்தி ஜயந்தி புறப்பாடு அலங்காரங்களான மலர் கிரீடம் மற்றும் ஜோடனைகளை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளிடம் சமர்ப்பித்தபோது மலர்கிரீடத்தைத் தன் சிரஸின் மேல் மகான் எடுத்து வைத்துக் கொண்டபோது அங்குத் தரிசித்து நின்ற நாயேனுக்கும் மற்றவர்களுக்கும் மெய் சிலிர்த்தது.

சிறிது நேரம் குழந்தையைப்போல அந்த யதிராஜரான பெரியவா கிரீடத்தை வைத்துக் கொண்ட அரிய காட்சி நல்கிவிட்டு, அதை பிறகு தன் திருக்கரத்தால் அகற்றி வைத்துக் கொண்டார். ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளின் கமலங்கள் யாரையோ தேடின. முன்னே நின்ற யாரையும் மகானின் பார்வை தேடுவதாகத் தெரியவில்லை. ஒரு கோடியில் யாருக்கும் தெரியாமல் நின்றுக் கொண்டிருந்த  திரு.சதாசிவத்தின் மேல் ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா பார்வை பதிந்தது. உடனே சைகை செய்து அவரைக் கூப்பிடச் சொல்லி அருளினார்.

தயங்கியபடி எதிரே வந்த சதாசிவத்தின் கையில் அந்த மலர்கிரீடத்தை ஸ்ரீ பெரியவா கொடுக்கச் சொன்னபோது நாயேன் ஆச்சர்யமுற்று நின்றேன். இவர்தான் மலர் அலங்காரம் செய்பவரென்று ஸ்ரீ பெரியவாளுக்கு யாரும் சொன்னதில்லை. அப்படியிருக்க எல்லாமும் நானறிவேன் என்று உணர்த்தும் வகையில் இந்த தெய்வம் இப்படி அருளியதில் அதிருத்ர விழா நடந்தேறியதற்கான பரிபூர்ண ஆசி கிட்டியதுபோலானது.

இப்படி கிரீடம் வைத்தாற்போல் பெரியவா அனுக்ரஹம் யாவும் நாயேனின் குரு பிரம்மஸ்ரீ பிரதோஷம் மாமாவின் ஆசி ஒன்றினால் மட்டுமே சாத்யம் என்று நாயேன் மற்றொரு முறை உணரலானேன்.

Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyavaal Mahimai (24-06-2010)

Shri Mahaperiyava, due to His kindness, to bless all the people, like a Sugabrahma Rishi Saint, took avatar as Shri Shri Shri Mahaperiyava, walked this earth and blessed us.

Even though Periyava has never revealed that He is Parameshwara Avatar, there are lots of incidents, where His kindness automatically comes out on seeing His’ devotee’s problems. Many such incident has been witnessed by a devotee Shree Balu, who had the blessings to serve Periyava.

Once, a 34 year old devotee was visiting the Kanchi mutt with his parents from Tirunelveli. He was filled with grief. They were standing separately and were not familiar with what they need to do. It was very clear that they had come to Srimatam for the first time and might actually belong to Sringeri Srimatam.

Periyava saw them and called them closer. Once they came near Periyava, overcome by grief, they started to cry.

He started to say, “We are coming from Sringeri Srimatam. I am suffering from unbearable chronic stomach pain. We have consulted multiple doctors, visited several temples, without any cure. We went to have darshan of our guru at Sringeri and He sent us here to seek blessings from You as Vaitheeswaran. That is the reason for our visit.”

“Did He say like that”, asked Periyava as if He did not know anything.

The devotee must have got some confidence and started crying as if he wanted to surrender to Periyava.

The devotee started to say, “I have come here seeking your blessings to get my ailment cured. Only Periyava can save me from this chronic pain. If I am supposed to live with this pain for my entire life, then I think it is better to end my life here itself. Periyava need to save me.”

Periyava looked at the devotee with lot of kindness. He then closed His eyes and meditated. The other devotees including Shree Balu were waiting to see what was going to happen next.

After sometime Periyava gently opened His eyes and looked at the devotee. At the same instant, the devotee’s stomach ache had stopped. It was visible in the eyes of the devotee. He started to say. “Periyava, Vaitheeswara, I do not know where all the pain has gone.” He prostrated before Periyava and left the Srimatam happily.

But from that day, everyone including Shree Balu felt Periyava was suffering from stomach pain. Shree Balu was responsible for the Periyava’s Biksha and he felt that he might be responsible for that. When Bhagawan itself is suffering, to whom should he go and pray? Shree Balu decided to go to his Kula Deivam Vaitheeswaran temple and pray for Periyava. The next day being Ekadashi and since Periyava does not take Biksha, he planned to go that day.

Since Shree Balu cannot tell this directly to Periyava, he said that he wanted to go to Vaitheeswaran koil.

“You always say that Periyava is Vaitheeswaran, and still do you want to go there?” Periyava asked Shree Balu, casually mentioning a divine secret.

Shree Balu wanted to get the permission, and so he said, “I have not visited the temple after my tonsure ceremony when I was a kid and want to go now”.

Periyava bless him and Shree Balu reached Vaitheeswaran koil. Those who pray to Vaitheeswaran, usually get the part of the body (like hands, legs) in silver and offer it. Since Shree Balu had prayed for Periyava’s stomach, he was looking to get a silver stomach as offering. He could not find it in any of the stores there.

An old lady approached Shree Balu and said, “Are you looking for the silver stomach, you will not get them at the store, it is only available in the temple office. They give it only to very important persons”. She went away saying this. Shree Balu was surprised to hear what he wanted from a stranger.

He started walking towards the temple office. He cannot say that he has come from Kanchi Srimatam and want to offer the silver stomach organ to Vaitheeswaran, so that Periyava is cured of His stomach pain. He went and met the temple officer as an ordinary person. On talking to the office, Shree Balu soon came to know that both of them had studied in the same school in Mannargudi.

The officer agreed to give the silver stomach and Shree Balu paid Rs. 750/- and happily received it. He prayed to Vaitheeswaran and offered the silver stomach that he had received from the temple officer.

When Shree Balu reached Kanchipuram, he realized that Periyava had recovered from the stomach pain. Shree Balu said to Periyava, “With the blessings of Periyava, I had a very good darshan of Vaitheeswaran”.

Periyava looked at Shree Balu with a smiling face and said, “Did you go and give my stomach pain to Vaitheeswaran?”

Shree Balu was shocked. He realized, how the stomach pain had transferred from the devotee to Periyava and then to Vaitheeswaran. This incident made Shree Balu realize the immense kindness of Periyava.

It is true that whoever surrenders to Periyava will be blessed with all goodness in this world.

A drop of God’s Nectar:

It is not correct to equate Standard of Living to Quality of living. Quality of living is a totally different thing and one that is higher. Living with good qualities, devotion to God is living with good quality. In the current world, being high in economic status is considered to be high standard of living. Instead we need to focus on improving our mind, and start living a life with higher quality of living.

With the kindness of Shree Mahaperiyava and complete blessings of Shree Pradhosham Mama, Shree Periyava’s Jayanthi was celebrated with complete Adi Rudra fervor. I started to Kanchipuram with my parents to give the prasadam to Periyava and Pradhosham Mama.

When we offered the Prasadam to Periyava, He asked the garlands to be worn by my parents. I considered this as the biggest blessings in my life.

There was one more crown like recognition waiting. Shree Sadasivam is one of the devotee who helps in the Jayanthi celebrations. He gets all the flowers and garland for the celebrations without expecting anything in return. If there is a “Ther” (Car/Chariot) or “Mena” (palanquin) procession ceremony, Shree Sadasivam will decorate it completely with flowers. The decoration will be the main attraction of the entire ceremony and everyone attending it were impressed with the decorations.

I had learned it from Pradosham Mama to offer these flower decorations when visiting Periyava. So I had brought the flower crown and other decorations this time. We were all mesmerized, when Periyava wore the floral crown. He gave the darshan with the crown for all of us for some time and kept it next to Him. Then His eyes started to look for someone. He pointed to Shree Sadasivam, who was standing at a corner far away and asked him to come near Him.

When Shree Sadasivam came hesitantly near Him, Periyava gave him the flower crown He had just worn. I was surprised. Nobody had mentioned that Shree Sadasivam is responsible for the flower decoration. After this we realized that Periyava knows everything and we felt that we had received the complete blessings of Periyava for the Adi Rudra Jayanthi celebrations.

I also realized for one more time, that all of this was possible only due to the blessings of my guru Shree Pradosham Mama.
